Josh Klinghoffer stepped behind the drum kit for Pearl Jam once again on Wednesday, September 13th in Fort Worth, Texas, filling in for regular drummer Matt Cameron while he recovers from Covid-19. Watch the fan-shot footage below.
The Dickies Arena concert was the latest stop on Pearl Jam’s brief 2023 tour (grab tickets here), clocking in at 27 songs and 155 minutes. Notably, the setlist was heavy on songs from Yield, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The band played six tracks from the 1998 album, including the second performance of “Pilate” since 2018. They only played one song released after 1998, “Mind Your Manners” from 2013’s Lightning Bolt, and also performed covers of “Eruption” by Van Halen and The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” Check out the full setlist below.

Pearl Jam were forced to cancel the final two shows on their North American tour after another member of the band tested positive for Covid.
This past week, Pearl Jam managed to persevere through drummer Matt Cameron’s Covid-related absence by enlisting audience members in Oakland and reuniting with former drummer Dave Krusen in Fresno.
However, on Wednesday, the band canceled their tour-ending gigs in Sacramento (tonight, May 18) and Las Vegas (May 20) after bassist Jeff Ament tested positive earlier this morning.

Early Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen reunited with the band to play pretty much all of Ten — the only album he played on — at a show in Fresno, California Monday, May 16.
Krusen was one of three drummers Pearl Jam tapped to help fill-in for Matt Cameron, who was out after testing positive for Covid-19 (the other two ringers were Josh Klinghoffer and Richard Stuverud). A fan-shot video captured Krusen’s introduction to the stage, with Eddie Vedder noting the drummer didn’t have the chance to play many live shows...

Grunge legends like Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil will lead next year’s “Sounds of Seattle” Rock Camp, taking place February 17th-20th, 2022 in Los Angeles.
Original Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen, Jane’s Addiction’s Stephen Perkins and Nickelback’s Mike Kroeger will also take part in the Rock Camp, where attendees will rehearse and be mentored by their rock star “counselors,” leading up to public performances at famed L.A. venues at the Viper Room and the Whisky-a-Go-Go.

Former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese has joined forces with the Pearl Jam France Facebook community to rerecord the band’s 1993 classic “Rearviewmirror.” The seven-minute video cuts between several fans taking turns on vocals, guitars, and bass, while Abbruzzese handles the drums, just as he did on the original recording.
Abbruzzese was Pearl Jam’s third drummer, but the first two (Dave Krusen and Matt Chamberlain) had very brief stints, and his time with the group between 1991 and 1994 coincided with their commercial peak. He plays on Vs. and Vitalogy and...

Calling Pearl Jam’s sophomore album “hotly anticipated” would have severely understated the case. In the two years since the release of Ten, their 1991 debut, the band had vaulted from obscurity to the forefront of the rock mainstream on the strength of visceral singles like “Alive,” “Jeremy” and “Even Flow,” and high-intensity live performances in which frontman Eddie Vedder often risked life and limb in his quest to win over audiences.

After rock band Pearl Jam were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last weekend, an ex-member of the band wasn’t so excited. Current members of the band and the original drummer Dave Krusen were all included in the ceremony. But Krusen was the only past member to make the cut, leaving out […]...

Last night Pearl Jam was officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a quarter of a century since they released Ten (which went Platinum 13 times) but here they are a little older, a little wiser, and still and unbelievable band. Following a speech by retired talk-show host David Letterman, the band consisting of Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron all appeared onstage to make speeches marking the achievement, as did founding drummer Dave Krusen.
