Frank Miller isn't a complicated man, but his work does seem to suggest that he's fine with sticking to the "Sin City"/"The Spirit" millieu thankyouverymuch. And after teaming with Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans a couple of years ago for a stylish Gucci spot, the director has paired up with the actors again to make another ad for the fashion house. Once again going monochrome, and throwing in some rain for good measure, the spot is pretty simple: Evans rolls up on a motorcycle, goes into Wood's fancy car, and they make love on the backseat on top of a fur coat all while zipping through a retro future world or something. Somewhere in here, you will be convinced to buy Gucci Guilty Black, if only so you don't smell like wet fur. Anyway, give it a spin below. And in case you're wondering, the song is "Strangelove...

Interviewing Kerli at Lollapalooza
Tour News
Lollapalooza just celebrated it’s historic 25th year and 6th year in Chicago at Grant Park. Having up until recently been Chicagoan, I felt attending the event was certainly worth a trip back to town. (I recently moved to New York City for a position with Emi Music in Marketing working for Astralwerks, home to The B-52s, Kylie Minogue and David Guetta among others.)
I flew into Chicago the first day of the show and just missed the chance at catching Young The Giant and Kerli perform. So bummed. I did get to see UK rapper Tinie Timpah perform his chart topping radio hit “Written In the Stars” and the talented young Christina Perri belt out her beautiful hit “Jar of Hearts.” I strolled past Afrojack’s performance of his hit “Take Over Control” on my way to see Crystal Castles perform their trippy must-see show.

Chicago — The plan for a weekend of Lollapalooza shuffle firmly established, Saturday's musical Pu-Pu platter was a bit more focused on rock and its various offshoots, plus, frankly, bands I either love already or was just curious about.
First on the list was hip-hop's current go-to hook queen, Skylar Grey. In her first major appearance since blowing up thanks to her vocals on Dr Dre's "I Need a Doctor," singer/songwriter Grey is clearly read to go out on her own. (She would join pal Eminem later in the night during his headlining set.)
Check out photos from the festival!
With a haunting, gothy vibe, Grey came out wearing a ragged white hoodie that hung in shreds like a ghost shawl down to her ankles, accented by combat boots, army pants and a white sports bra that showed off her impossibly thin belly. She was all aggression and angst, at one point neck-tackling her guitarist.

Crowing about being heavily influenced by ’80s teen idols like New Kids On The Block might be a smug pose to strike, but Britain’s Friendly Fires somehow makes it look good. Even more than 2008’s self-titled debut, which baited its dance-floor hooks with morsels of Duran Duran and Franz Ferdinand, Pala feels like a great shindig-starter, complete with wiggly, disco basslines and subtext-free lyrics like “All I want is to feel true love.” The sentiment is a little clunky, but who cares, when the songs are daubed with such a sticky, shiny coat of pop gloss? When asked how they find performing at festivals compared to their own headline concerts, drummer Jack Savidge explained: "I think the time is an issue. Friendly Fires have revealed that they prefer straightforward lyrics to "clever" tracks that follow a certain construction. The 'Live Those Days Tonight' group are currently preparing to release their second studio album Pala and admitted that when writing, they find it easier to channel emotions and dialogue familiar to themselves rather than deal with wider social issues.
