Greg Flowers was born on April 21, 1974 in Macon, Georgia. As a child,
he was fascinated by all things related to filmmaking. He studied
optical photographic compositing techniques and special makeup effects.
A child of the late 1970's and 80's, Greg grew up fascinated with the
movies of the era. Greg fell in love with the movies of Spielberg and
Lucas in particular.
After graduating high school an honor graduate, Greg earned a B.S. in Health Education: Exercise Science in 1996 from nearby Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. He worked at a video store through all four of his undergraduate years. He was accepted to the Physical Therapy program at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia where he received his M.S. degree in 1999.
Greg never quit studying the art of filmmaking. He moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 2005 where he found an active film community. He competed in the 48 Hour film project four times, winning the audience award for his political satire, The Naked Truth.
In 2007, Greg started working out at WNC barbell. There he found a local submission wrestling group was meeting twice a week in a small padded room. He met a colorful group of guys, including Michael Allen, Johnny Buck, and Adam DeHart.
