Exclusive: Harry Hamlin and Dylan Baker have joined the cast of The Hot Zone: Anthrax, the second installment of National Geographic’s scripted anthology series.
The Hot Zone: Anthrax takes place in 2001, just weeks after 9/11, where another deadly act of terrorism rocked the United States. Letters containing anthrax were sent to unsuspecting victims in Florida, Washington, D.C. and New York. The anonymous assault claimed five lives and caused panic throughout the country. Despite interagency turf wars and many false leads, an unlikely team of scientists, FBI agents and government departments slowly closed in on a shocking prime suspect.
Hamlin will portray Tom Brokaw, the respected journalist and anchor for NBC News. On camera, Brokaw is the steady voice of reason for a post-9/11 nation. Off camera, he is a protective father figure to those who work for him. Brokaw himself became a...

A veteran TV actor will be turning up the heat on President Keane next season on Homeland.
Dylan Baker (The Good Wife, Damages) has joined the Season 7 cast of the Showtime thriller as a recurring guest star, TVLine has learned. Baker will play Senator Sam Paley, a maverick U.S. Senator from the Southwest — hmmm, sound like anyone we know? — who is aggressively investigating Keane’s abuse of power. (If you remember, last season ended with an assassination attempt on Keane, which led to her getting paranoid about an internal conspiracy, having Saul arrested and cutting Carrie out of her inner circle.

Will long-term viewers ever forgive writers for the one-two punch that was Quinn's fate on Homeland Season 5 and Homeland Season 6?
Can The Fosters ever have a good time, or will they spend every hour in misery until the show makes its exit?
Was Scandal's 100th Episode celebration just too weird?
Can you imagine a Girls series finale without Elijah?
Ponder all of these things and more as you read the quotes from the week ending April 14, 2017, below!
1. Homeland Keane: Is he, is he dead? Carrie: Yeah. Keane: He saved our lives. Carrie: Yeah. Keane: What was his name? Carrie: Peter Quinn. Keane:... 2. Underground Harriet: If you don't have it in you to take up arms against the injustice then you gotta pray another prayer and you gotta walk in it... 3. The Son Eli: Is this one of those vaudeville routines or are you working your way up to a question?...

Things are getting weirder.
On The Good Fight Season 1 Episode 9, Maia met with the FBI about the ponzi scheme, and Diane and Adrian took on another police brutality case.
I'll start with Maia because her storyline carries significant consequences.
But first, how delightful was it to see Jane Lynch? I love everything she does, and this role was no different.
Here, she played FBI agent, Madeline Starkey, who's trying to help Maia recall memories from her teenage years that may or may not shed light on the ponzi scheme. Agent Starkey wanted to know what Maia knew and when.
It's hard to tell whether she's on Maia's side, against her, or just trying to find the truth. I'm leaning toward the latter, though.
But Maia was just a teenager. How much does any teenager know about what their parents are doing? Especially if the parents are running a multi-million dollar company.

The face Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) made when she saw Colin Sweeney again said it all. In "Self Condemned," Dylan Baker returned as the alleged wife-killing billionaire, and this time he needed Diane's help with a police brutality case. Alicia wouldn't take his case, but Adrian (Delroy Lindo) got wind of it because he's been on a quest to get the crooked cop off the force. Because it's Colin Sweeney, things weren't simple. Drugs, Israeli mistresses and somehow an ambassadorship under Donald Trump all came into play. Typical. In the end, Diane and Adrian were able to get Colin off for the assault charges the cop was alleging and the cop off the force too, but he wouldn't be joining their...

Dylan Baker will reprise his Emmy-nominated role in the penultimate episode of the CBS All Access spinoff of The Good Wife. In the episode, Diane (Christine Baranski) and Adrian (Delroy Lindo) are once again involved in another police brutality case, but this time they're representing Colin Sweeney. Meanwhile, Lucca (Cush Jumbo) represents Maia (Rose Leslie) during her interview with a federal investigator seeking information on the Rindell ponzi scheme. Jane Lynch guest stars as the aforementioned investigator. In the exclusive sneak peek above, it's clear that Diane and Adrian...

Nothing says, "Our hiatus is finally over!" quite like opening the first episode back with 45 seconds of erotic asphyxiation. Welcome back, Good Wife! I missed you, too. The return of erotic asphyxiation can only mean one thing – Colin Sweeney's back in town, and he's filed suit against a television program that ran a "ripped from the headlines"-style story that's suspiciously similar to his. It's a little odd to open the episode with Sweeney, since he didn't play as heavily (or at all, really) in the first half of the season as Alicia's campaign, Cary's imprisonment, or Lemond Bishop's looming presence. But it's also a nice way of drawing the show's focus back to the courtroom and the day-to-day workings of the firm. And thanks to Dylan Baker, who's played Sweeney for years, it's delightful, if very, very creepy. In addition to playing Sweeney, Baker also plays the TV...

The Good Wife, Season 6, Episode 13: “Dark Money”
Written by Keith Eisner
Directed by Jim McKay
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on CBS
After the relative, unexpected disaster that was “The Debate,” in which the Kings bit off way more than they could chew thematically speaking, it makes sense that The Good Wife would return after its brief hiatus with an episode that mostly plays it safe. Accordingly, “Dark Money” is a total comfort-zone hour in theory, replete with the meta-gags the series has grown increasingly in love with, a legendary guest actor playing sharply against (recent) type, and a set of new plots for familiar returning characters. Should be a surefire slam dunk, right?
Not so much. For starters, the principal returning character of the episode – that is, the one we’ve not seen in a while – is Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker), the bourgeois almost-definite-murderer for whom the series...

Alicia Florrick has a gay brother who happens to be one of her closest confidantes — an inconvenient truth my brain struggled mightily to suppress during this week’s installment of The Good Wife.
After all, to acknowledge the Alicia-Owen bond while big sis made not a peep of protest during a homophobic rant by a potential fat-cat campaign donor (a fantastically nasty Ed Asner) raised some painful questions: Has a heated run for state’s attorney cracked Alicia’s moral compass? Has her desire for victory and thirst for power turned her into a “bad person”? Or has Alicia always...

The Good Wife is back and suddenly everything feels right. Sunday nights are complete once again! In "Dark Money" Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker) helped usher the CBS drama back to the airwaves with a defamation suit against a TV show. The Good Wife really let Baker go to town and gave him a dual role—he also played the actor playing the Colin Sweeney-esque character—which was absurd and delightful at the same time. Julie White of Go On played the opposing counsel. When Diane (Christine Baranski) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) basically destroyed her case, White's character sought to prove Sweeney killed his first wife. Can't be defamatory if it's true. Things weren't really going Colin...

Things aren't looking as springlike for Alicia, however, as the realities of campaigning bring her to a bad place. On the bright side, Cary's free and Colin Sweeney's back. And he's not even on trial for murder!

Laura Benanti also returns as his estranged third wife, Renata, who decides to testify against him in court." Baker earned his third Emmy nomination earlier this year for his portrayal of Sweeney. Emmy nominations were announced this morning and as usual, there were a number of snubs and surprises, which the Internet collectively whined about this morning. Rather than continue to mourn the lack of a nomination for Tatiana Maslany (which I admittedly complained about as well), actual solutions need to be pitched. Sadly, “chain Emmy voters to a chair and make them actually watch Orphan Black” seems somewhat implausible and definitely criminal, so here are five reasonable and seemingly easy solutions the Emmys should consider next year.
1. A Dramedy Category
One of the most-nominated newcomers announced on Emmy morning was Orange is the New Black, which with 12 total nods amassed more than any other comedy, including Modern Family, Veep, and The Big Bang Theory. Yet most fans of the show would hesitate to classify it as a comedy. Compared to most of the other shows in the category, it certainly does not fit the pattern.

We begin at Colin Sweeney’s engagement party full of Robert Palmer girls, a disorienting and engaging opening scene, as always, for The Good Wife. Very Eyes Wide Shut vibe for Alicia’s seemingly routine trip to a client’s house to get a financial-disclosure agreement signed. The vibe continues as Sweeney dons his electronic glasses that match whoever he’s looking at with a porn star’s body type, and even as he introduces Alicia to his flirty new fiancée, Renata. He’s shocked that Alicia doesn’t know he’s engaged: “Do you really not follow my life? I follow yours.” Renata is into Alicia: “I have a theory about women with three-syllable names,” she says suggestively. She follows this with the statement, heavy with show-spanning symbolism: “Every saint is just a sinner waiting for an opportunity.” She’s played by the sexy Laura Benanti, who is so...

The Good Wife, Season 5, Episode 19, “Tying The Knot”
Written by Nichelle Tramble Spellman
Directed by Josh Charles
Airs Sundays at 9pm on CBS
The Good Wife is obsessed, especially lately, with memory, with subjective experience and the way it colors our entire perceptions of the world around us. We never get out of our heads, after all. Everything we ever experience is colored by this limitation. Our senses and our recollections are all we have to tie us to the past, and to help us pull ourselves forward. The world outside ourselves is something we can only do our best to conceive of. Anything but our own flawed memory is pure conjecture.
“Tying the Knot” is a marvelous episode that puts us in Alicia’s head as she is present for another death at Colin Sweeney’s residence. Sweeney is the closest this show ever treads to a lesser legal procedural like Boston Legal.

“Tying the Knot” is a marvelous episode that puts us in Alicia’s head as she is present for another death at Colin Sweeney’s residence. Sweeney is the closest this show ever treads to a lesser legal procedural like Boston Legal.

Everyone's in each other's lives tonight on "The Good Wife." Diane is helping out Alicia, who is an alibi in a murder case. Alicia is meddling in Finn's affairs, telling him to run for public office. And Owen, Alicia's brother, has some interesting advice for Zach who has been accused of smoking pot. It's all a tangled mess, but all works out in the end. Case: Alicia and Cary are working with wife killer and sexual deviant Colin Sweeney. They...

Alicia Florrick has attracted her fair share of "difficult" clients, but none as loony/creepy as the inimitable Colin Sweeney. This is the kind of reunion Alicia could probably do without.
Speaking of reunions: Will's back, too! Okay, not really Will, but Josh Charles, who directed "Tying the Knot." Obviously, no hard feelings between the actor and The Good Wife's producers, so let's tone down the anger about Will's departure, shall we?...

The Good Wife celebrated its 100th episode last night with “The Decision Tree.” (Read the full recap here.) But if you haven’t yet seen the episode, stop reading now. Spoilers ahead! In the case of the week, a former client of Alicia’s (Juliana Margulies) had bequeathed her $12 million. She faced Will (Josh Charles) in court over the validity of the will. Meanwhile, Florrick/Agos prepared for their holiday party. And what started as a feeble gathering turned in to the event of the season—all thanks to Peter’s (Chris Noth) promised attendance. Eli (Alan Cumming) tried to...

"The Good Wife" is bringing the fall 2013 season to close with a big episode -- number 100, titled "The Decision Tree." Check out this sneak peek preview in the video above.
New firm Florrick, Agos and Associates is throwing a holiday party and Governor Florrick is attending, but Marilyn and Eli have an issue with that -- because "alleged" wife-murderer Colin Sweeney will be there and it might be seen as an ethical misstep since Sweeney's plea bargain happened during Peter's time as the State's Attorney.
We've seen the full episode -- click here for a few small spoiler-y tidbits to tide you over. But suffice to say, it's excellent. Maybe the best episode the show has ever done.

New Good Wife season 5,episode 10 second spoiler clip hit the net. Recently, CBS served up this new,2nd,sneak peek/spoiler clip (below) for their upcoming "The Good Wife" episode 10 of season 5, and it appears to be quite interesting as Alicia tells Eli and Marilyn to scram over trying to get her to disinvite a client to their holiday shindig, and more. The episode is titled, "The Decision Tree." In the new clip, Eli and Marilyn are seen, heavily begging Alicia to disinvite Colin Sweeney to their fancy holiday party shindig as they don't want him to end up in the same room as Peter. But, Alicia totally turns them down despite all their begging and graveling attempts as she holds firm to her policy of not disinviting a guest. She does, however, advise that they tell Peter about it. Unfortunately for them, they already did, and he's coming anyways.

It’s time for the Season 4 finale of The Good Wife, which means it’s time for a heck of a lot of boring Peter Florrick election drama! It begins right off the bat, as the first thing we see is Zach in his prep boy gear, primed and ready for his first ever election, and one where he can vote for his daddy, oh my! He takes a picture of the ballot to capture the moment! Which is illegal, I’m pretty sure! And then he says, wait a minute, why are those guys trucking in that other box o’ ballots from out of nowhere, with a broken seal, because that definitely seems illegal. So then he goes to take a picture of That, and some uptight voting guy stands in his way and says, that’s illegal! Yeesh. Voting is Hard.

Oh, Alicia! She's a mess, isn't she?
The last few weeks have been rough on this good wife. She's struggled with her feelings for Will and questioned whether Lockhart/Gardner is the firm for her.
In "What's in the Box?," Alicia made a decision, but not the one she probably should have made first. It's a good thing that The Good Wife has already been renewed for season 5, considering that cliffhanger.
I fell without question for the finale door open twist. I assumed that Alicia called Will and that they would finally have their talk. I should have known better since The Good Wife is always pulling tricks like that, but the wine, the music and the self-doubt was more in line with making a romantic versus career decision. I was taken by my overwhelming desire for Alicia and Will to finally discuss their feelings.

It's hard to write a teaser preview for the "Good Wife" Season 4 finale -- it's so, so good and yet saying just about anything is spoiler-y. But trust us, from start to finish, it is an A+ episode and easily our favorite season finale the show has done yet.

Is Plimpton's Patti Nyholm working with or against Will, Diane and Alicia? Little of column A, little of column B.Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker) plays an interesting catalyst for some of the bigger goings-on of the episode. Hope to see more of him in Season 5.During the night's proceedings, Will and Alicia spend a lot of time together in a confined space,...

This week’s episode of The Good Wife felt like a bit of a let down after the pomp and circumstance of last week’s murder mystery and Shamrock Ball, but alas, we all have to get back to the grind at sometime. Although back to the grind for Lockhart Gardner is currently feeling a little sweeter, as they’re moving back into the 3284th floor or whatever it is, which means Cary and Alicia officially have their own offices again. Which actually makes me feel a little sad? But since Alicia’s an equity partner now, she’s been upgraded to Office Fancypants status:
It’s mine? All mine?
Diane tells her she has a $10,000 stipend to decorate. What! I know this probably isn’t that much in hot shot lawyer world, but — $10,000! Holy crap! I’ll decorate You!

"The Wheels of Justice" moved quickly on this week's The Good Wife, as Alicia expedited a trial for her infamous client Colin Sweeney.
When we last saw Sweeney, he was being charged with sexual misconduct with Isobel Swift in "Long Way Home" after previously getting away with murdering his wife. Now, he's engaged to Isobel.
While the fast tracked trial was the case-of-the-week, the overriding theme of the episode was all about love and its various incarnations.
Instead of a normal trial involving Colin Sweeney (if there is such a thing), Alicia demanded that the trial start within the 160 days required by law at a defendant's request. That meant the trial needed to start the next day. This maneuver was all about protecting Sweeney from a potential life sentence in prison. Sweeney already had two strikes against him and with the coming Supreme Court ruling and a third strike in this trial,...

"The Good Wife" hasn't seen the last of Patti Nyholm and Judge Abernathy.
According to TV Guide, "Raising Hope" star Martha Plimpton is returning to the series to reprise her role as Patti, a rival lawyer who tried to take over Lockhart/Gardner in the Season 3 finale. Details of Plimpton's appearance, which will occur in the Season 4 finale, are being kept under wraps.

The famous wife-killer of "The Good Wife" is headed back to CBS. And if Dylan Baker's hints are any indication, Colin Sweeney's return won't be a pretty one.
Titled "The Wheels Of Justice," Sweeney's (Baker) return episode (airing this Sun., March 31) will center on Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Will's (Josh Charles) attempt to stop Sweeney from getting a life sentence.
"It’s an interesting episode because there’s a feature of the law that Cary [Matt Czurchy] sort of figures out along the way," Baker told EW of the episode. "It sort of changes my case and slips it in to a whole [different] thing right there in the courtroom. For a while, it looks like I’m paying these lawyers a lot to just sit around and push things down the road. All of the sudden it gets very exciting because of the information that Cary uncovers. It’s a fun episode.

You can’t keep a good man down. And the bad ones? Well, The Good Wife‘s Colin Sweeney resurfaces this Sunday on the just-renewed drama (CBS, 9/8c), for a legal scrape that just might be the one that lands the slippery CEO in prison for good. TVLine spoke with Dylan Baker — who twice has been Emmy-nominated for the role — about his latest encore, though we perhaps led off with a question Mr. Sweeney would take “Objection!” to.
