Scooter McCrae is a name that will always catch my attention, because he and his feature directorial debut Shatter Dead seemed to be getting a lot of coverage in the pages of Fangoria magazine back in the early ’90s. He made his second feature, Sixteen Tongues, in 1999 – and now, more than twenty years later, Deadline reports that he has finally gotten a third feature through production. The latest Scooter McCrae film is a “darkly erotic sci-fi” project called Black Eyed Susan, starring Damian Maffei of The Strangers: Prey at Night.
Deadline notes that Black Eyed Susan was one of the first projects to secure a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement when the strike got started. Shot on 16mm film, it centers on Derek, who after finding himself desperate for work, accepts a job replacing his recently-deceased friend at a tech startup. ‘Black Eyed Susan’ – ‘Shatter Dead’ Filmmaker Scooter McCrae Returns With Bdsm Sex Doll Horror Movie
The director of cult films Shatter Dead (1994) and Sixteen Tongues (1999), Shooter McCrae has wrapped production on his third feature film, titled Black Eyed Susan.
The film is currently in post-production, Bloody Disgusting has learned.
“The stylishly spare, lo-fi aesthetic erotic science fiction feature was filmed on Super 16 in Brooklyn and other areas of Upstate New York. Its cast includes Damian Maffei, Marc Romeo, and ex-WWE Superstar Scott Fowler. Model Yvonne Emilie Thälker marks her feature film debut as the picture’s titular character.”
Desperate for work, Derek (Maffei) accepts a job replacing his recently-deceased friend at a tech startup. Continuing to develop the company’s innovative project means working intimately with Susan (Thälker), a bleeding-edge Bdsm sex doll meant to receive and appreciate punishment as an integral part of her evolving AI.

Just a few weeks ago, the Shudder streaming service released a special edition of their series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs that was called Joe Bob’s Haunted Halloween Hangout and had legendary movie host Joe Bob Briggs sharing the screen with fellow legend Elvira. For the last few years, it has been tradition for Shudder to release a Joe Bob special around Halloween – and it’s also tradition for them to release a Joe Bob special around Christmas. That tradition continues this year, as Shudder has announced that the new special Joe Bob’s Ghoultide Get-Together will premiere Friday, December 16, at 9pm on Shudder TV. The special will then be available to watch on demand as of Sunday, December 18.
Joe Bob’s Ghoultide Get-Together has the following synopsis: Joe Bob celebrates Christmas the drive-in way, complete with The Last Drive-In’s third annual holiday auction with proceeds going to charity.

The idea of a Mech-Bigfoot is very exciting. So exciting in fact that artist Vincent Cretara and company have made a quick stop motion trailer in honor of Rolfe Kanefsky's new film Megafoot! Now let's just hope the real thing can get made!

Having devoted the last edition of Crowdfunding Friday to a revival of a classic game from the 80s (that would be Chaos), we're back to our usual format this week.
We've chosen four worthy projects from the ocean of campaigns on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo, which this week includes a documentary about the once infamous 80s comedy, Ishtar, a top-down 2D action RPG, and a potentially brilliant comic book about a war between giant airships.

What could possibly be more powerful and terrifying than a Bigfoot, sasquatch or yeti? Why, a cybernetically enhanced Bigfoot, that's what. This is the concept behind Justin Martell's Project: Megafoot, which sees the Us military create an ill-advised hairy Terminator.

We return with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes details on a Wes Craven art exhibition, the first sighting of Megafoot, a 100 zombie films graphical print, first photos from Australian Horror film, Barrow, an interview with actor, writer, and filmmaker Sean Stone, and much more:
The Horror Legacy of Wes Craven Exhibit Details: “Wes Craven has been feeding our collective horror consciousness since 1972, when his first feature, “The Last House on the Left,” debuted. That film was gritty, raw and terrifying, it still causes a guttural reaction some 40 years later. In his career, Wes has created some of the most memorable moments in horror cinema, from the torture scene in “The Serpent and the Rainbow,” to the Johnny Depp’s explosive scene in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” to the first glimpse of Michael Berryman’s savagery in “The Hills Have Eyes.

All right, kids. Show of hands: Who wants to a see motion picture about a half-robot, half-Bigfoot? That’s exactly what I thought. I’m surprised something like “Megafoot” hasn’t come down the proverbial pipeline before. Maybe it has, but nobody wanted to kick any money in its general direction. Thank God for the world of crowdfunding. “Return To Nuke ‘Em High” producer Justin Martell — a man who deserves numerous medals for even attempting to get this thing off the ground — is hoping you’ll give him some money to make “Megafoot.” If you can’t understand the sheer awesomeness of this premise, then you should probably take your runny nose and just go buy an outfit at the mall for your Oscar party.
