“The Sound of Silence,” the debut feature from Michael Tyburski, premiered at 2019’s Sundance Film Festival as part of the U.S. Dramatic competition. IFC will release the film theatrically later in 2019.

Exclusive: It was a musical, until it was a crime. Orion Pictures is financing a feature about Chicago inmates who escape prison through producing a musical play. Commercial director Adam Hashemi will make his feature film directorial debut on Songs of the Damned and award-winning music producer Mark Ronson will compose original music for the feature film produced by Anonymous Content.
Ronson, of course, is one of the brightest stars in music today. He produced Amy Winehouse’s award-winning album Back to Black and his song Uptown Funk soared to the top of the charts with Bruno Mars.
Orion landed the coveted project in what was said to be a highly competitive situation. While they are currently looking to cast, we hear that Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton) is in talks to join for a production that is eyeing a fall start.

Exclusive: Amazon is in talks to develop Sandstorm, a series about notorious Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who seized power in a coup at the age of 29, and ruled Libya for more than four decades before his bloody demise at the hands of his own countrymen in 2011.
Carter Harris (Bloodline) will write, and Mohamed Diab (Clash) will direct. The project is a co-production between Anonymous Content and O3 Productions, the production arm of Mbc Group, the leading media company in the Middle East. Harris and Diab will be executive producers with Tariq Merhab and Nicole Romano of Anonymous Content and Ali Jaafar and Fadi Ismail of O3 Productions. The project originated through a strategic partnership that Anonymous Content forged with O3 Productions to develop content relevant to the Middle East with global appeal.

Happy Valley's Adam Long has been cast as a series regular in the When the Street Lights Go On TV series pilot for Hulu, from Paramount Television and Anonymous Content. The pilot is an adaptation of a feature film script from writers Chris Hutton and Eddie O’Keefe. Brett Morgan has been tapped to direct will executive produce with Hutton and O’Keefe and Anonymous Content’s Chad Hamilton, Tariq Merhab, Michael Sugar, and Steve Golin.
The cast of When the Street Lights Go On include; Odessa Young, Max Burkholder, Kelli Mayo, Ben Winchell, Graham Beckel, and Luke Kirby. Per Deadline, Long will play, "17-year-old rebel Casper Tatum, a popular suspect in the small-town murder."

(Cbr) Longtime "Fast and the Furious" director Justin Lin, who’s already attached to the "Bourne Legacy" sequel, has another gig on his plate: According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s set to produce "Toymageddon" for Fox, with an eye toward directing if all the parts fall into place. Based on an idea by Anonymous Content’s Tariq Merhab, "Toymageddon" remains is described as a big-budget family action film akin to "Ghostbusters" and "Jurassic Park", featuring a toy factory going bonkers. Anonymous Content is the production company behind HBO’s "True Detective". The search for a writer is expected to begin shortly.

Justin Lin had a pretty full dance card already, but it just got a little fuller with news coming from The Hollywood Reporter that he’ll be producing a new 20th Century Fox property called Toymageddon.The live-action movie is being billed as a family adventure with “four quadrant appeal” – good news for quadrant fans – and will take place in a toy factory. Plot details are under wraps but with Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters cited as reference points, it’s safe to expect that the toys will find a way to cause maximum chaos.Maybe something along the lines of Small Soldiers is in store.The former Fast Five and 6er is directing the so-far untitled Bourne Legacy 2, a project that remains at the script stage, and may take on a narrative version of Sundance-acquired documentary The Battered Bastards Of Baseball.
