The brand-new Korean drama on Netflix is all about a satirical take on the reality television shows audiences watch on all kinds of small screens. It is a genre of television that brings out the voyeuristic side of people who find fun in peeping into the lives of the contestants who take part in these shows. The whole point of a reality show is to have cameras around the contestant that record their daily shenanigans. The 8 Show is a satirical take on it, and the makers bring in characters with several traits that are ideal for the reality show they had seemingly joined to gain money.
Jin-Su (Third Floor)
Ryu Jun-yeol, as Bae Jin-su, is the central character of The 8 Show. This show begins with his plight of lacking the financial means to close a debt. Bae Jin-Su is a typical young man with no prospects of living a lavish life.

There are plenty of reality television shows that Netflix produces and they are going global by coming out with reality television shows in many languages. Amidst all of this is Netflix Korea, which is churning out many shows in the reality television genre. Squid Game is the most popular of the lot, and that drew the attention of the world towards Korean culture rather than the world-class cinema the makers of the country churned out. Single’s Inferno, Physical: 100, Squid Game: The Challenge, The Devil’s Plan, Love after Divorce, and Love Naggers are some of the Netflix Korean reality shows. While some are good, others are abysmal. Clubbing elements of all these reality television shows together, Han Jae-rim brings The 8 Show, a brand new Netflix Korea original show that was released on May 17, 2024.
The 8 Show is an eight-episode-long show with a runtime of 35 to 40 minutes each episode.

There’s no secret in fact that the South Korean TV industry is getting more and more popular with each passing day. And frankly, we are getting tired of counting just how many perfect shows there are already created, because when we think “nothing can top this one” the next K-drama ends up dethroning whatever masterpiece there was before.
May is not an exception and is full of premiers on different streaming platforms. For example, on May 4 Netflix subscribers got the chance to see the new fantasy K-drama called The Atypical Family created by Kang Eun Kyung.
Only two episodes of the series have been released for now but it seems that the drama is already becoming everybody’s sweetheart. The show is already in Netflix’s Global Chart on #10, and there are many reasons for that. For example, the audience was happy to hear Chun Woo Hee and Jang Ki Yong...

The 2016 South Korean horror film "The Wailing" is a roller coaster ride with enough twists and turns to keep even the most experienced movie watcher guessing. Set in the small mountain village of Gokseong, the movie follows bumbling police officer Jong-goo (Kwak Do-won) as he tries to solve the mystery of an infection that causes people to become mentally unwell and kill their loved ones. The infection and its effects are horrifying enough, but then Jong-goo's daughter Hyo-jin (Kim Hwan-hee) becomes stricken with the same infection. Desperate to save his daughter, Jong-goo will do just about anything, delving into solutions both spiritual and mundane. He recruits the help of his friends, co-workers, and a local shaman named Il-gwang (Hwang Jung-min), but it seems like the evil descending on Gokseong is too much for anyone to stop.

A self-acknowledged "showcase for Academy Award frontrunners," the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is often overlooked for the actual films that earn it festival status. An amalgamation of international discoveries and ’merica’s circuit highlights, the Sbiff curates a week of best-of-the-best to pair with their star-praising. The 2015 edition offers another expansive selection, bookended by two films that aren’t on any radars just yet. Sbiff will open with "Desert Dancer," producer Richard Raymond’s directorial debut. Looking over the Fantasia Film Festival guide, one quote in the “Han Gong-ju” section is conspicuous. Martin Scorsese calls the film “outstanding,” noting its "mise-en-scene, image, sound, and performance.” Last December, in his capacity as Jury President of the Marrakech Film Festival, presiding over a group including Marion Cotillard, Fatih Akin, and Park Chan-wook among others, Scorsese awarded Su-jin Lee’s debut feature film the top prize, and has been championing it ever since. When arguably the biggest cinema geek of all time (no offense to Quentin Tarantino) backs a movie with such praise, one tends to pay attention. But we find ourselves in the peculiar position where we disagree with one of the greatest living filmmakers regarding just how outstanding this film really is. “Han Gong-ju” opens with a girl’s voiceover stating how she hears music in every sound. The voice belongs to Han Gong-ju (Woo-hee Chun), a student transferring to a new.
