Mumbai Diaries Season 2 (Prime Video)
Starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Mohit Raina, Tina Desai, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Prakash Belawadi, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Riddhi Dogra
Directed by Nikhil Advani
Overlooking the rather strange lacuna in the timeline whereby the second season moves from the terror attack of 26/11/2008 to the monsoonal deluge of 26/7/2005, Mumbai Diaries part 2 is a more intricately sketched portrayal of a city under siege than part 1 which suffered from under-developed characters and over-informed plot developments.
By now we know who’s who at the Bombay General Hospital. They need no introduction, and their function within the disembodied domain of injury and trauma is clearly aligned to the crisis on hand. There is more of Konkona Sen Sharma’s Chitra Das this time than Mohit Raina’s Dr Kaushik Oberoi, the head of trauma who seems pretty traumatized himself.
There are tons of trauma to be negotiated...

Mumbai, June 3 (Ians) Actor Amol Parashar will be seen giving an energetic dance performance for the first time in his upcoming film ‘Nausikhiye’.
He said: “It was a great experience to shoot the song in ‘Nausikihiye’, since we play wedding crashers in the movie and it’s our introduction song in the film.”
“We were given the brief to perform freestyle dance at places in the song, like how you dance at a wedding or during street procession. That way it was fun to create our own dance steps for the song, ensuring that it looks relatable, funny and entertaining. I had a whale of a time rehearsing and shooting the song,” Amol added.
Alongside Amol, ‘Nausikhiye’ features Abhimanyu Dassani and Shreya Dhanwanthary. The film is a rib-tickling comedy and is directed by Santosh Singh.

ReviewIt begins with a great idea, and one can appreciate the development of the script, but somewhere in its structuring and performances, the great idea gets a little lost.CrisThat Chup has managed to contain itself is proven by the fact that I could write this review without shaky hands, without constantly looking behind me, wondering if there is a hooded figure ready to pounce with a knife. It is only a film, the making clearly says, about a psychopath who kills film critics, for the reviews that they write. Thankfully it is not shot like a documentary, which could have given you the jitters. Plus they give you stars like Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol and Pooja Bhatt, so definitely, not real. One can imagine how it must have begun as a one-line plot – an artist who kills reviewers – and then developed into a well-thought-out script, with the how and...

Chup: Revenge Of The Artiste
Starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Pooja Bhatt
Directed by R Balki
The very sound of Waqt ne kiya kya haseen sitam, Jaane kya tuney kahi and Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye toh kya hai, playing in the background is enough reason to plunge into R Balki’s latest offering, a tender, brutal, uncompromising, disturbing, savagely funny, tragic thriller/romance where Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salmaan play of the most riveting games of cat-and-mouse seen in Hindi cinema.
While the vividly sketched characters play their own mind games, Balki and his excellent co-writer Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani are agreeably honest with us the audience. The identity of the serial killer is revealed minutes into the storytelling. In no time at all, I was no longer doing a body-count. Amit explains: “‘Chup’ is a versatile film and it comes from a one-of-a-kind storyline. We had to compose something that could fall in line with the film’s essence and we found ‘Gaya Gaya Gaya’. We necessarily focused on keeping the romantic element of the song alive without losing on the film’s enigmatic hint in it.”
The song is written by lyricist Swanand Kirkire and sung by Rupali Moghe and Shashwat Singh.

The trailer of ‘Chup’, directed by veteran ad filmmaker and director R. Balki, was released on Monday. A film centred around revenge killings, the needle of suspicion in it points to a filmmaker, who’s believed to have committed the murders after critics panned his movie while being generous to what he believes less-deserving films.
The serial killer thriller stars Dulquer Salmaan, fresh off his success in Sita Rama, who plays the film director, Pooja Bhatt, Sunny Deol and Shreya Dhanwanthary.
The film seems to come from a very personal space of Balki, whose some films have failed to impress the critics. He even went on to call out the critics in the past over their pretentious attitude towards movies with mainstream elements.
Talking about the germ of the idea, Balki said: “I had this idea for the story a long time ago and I don’t know why I...

Looop Lapeta
Starring Taapsee Pannu, Tahir Raj Bhasin
Directed by Aakash Bhatia
There is something to be said about a film that doesn’t shy away from its chaotic scenario. In fact, Looop Lapeta welcomes it. There is an arresting anarchy at the heart of this audacious endeavour to combine the heist genre with the cinema of self-realization. The fusion almost works.
Not that there are any breathing spaces for philosophical ruminations. The pacing is breakneck. And the characters that Savi(short for Savina) played by the ever-adventurous Taapsee Pannu, encounters in her heaving journey to save her wastrel boyfriend Satyajit(Tahir Raj Bhasin) from being annihilated by his sinister boss(Dibyendu Bhattacharya),will have you gasping for breath. This is not what Savi or the audience signed up for.
There is a peculiar kind of energy at work here; a sort of Savi-on-wheels-or-is-it-something-else kind of loco logic runs through this runner’s raga.
