“The Challenge XXX” star Jemmye Carroll is opening up about her return to the MTV competition show following ex-boyfriend Ryan Knight’s death at age 29 from an accidental overdose in November 2014. An exclusive sneak peek from Tuesday’s episode shows Carroll telling Cory Wharton that she has mixed emotions about returning to the fray. She met Knight on “The Real World: New Orleans,” which aired in 2010, and they dated after filming ended, although they had split up prior to his passing. “Just after Knight died, I didn’t feel right coming back, you know?” Carroll says in the clip about her.

Though MTV's The Challenge is a reality competition known for putting its competitors through insane physical tests, Battle of the Exes II was, without a doubt, the most emotionally taxing installment of the game in series history.
Very early in the show's 26th season, which began filming in Panama last August, fan favorite Diem Brown had to be medically evacuated to New York City, where she ultimately lost her third bout with cancer on Nov. 14 at the age of 34.
Less than two weeks later, Brown's castmate Ryan Knight was found dead on Thanksgiving morning after a night of partying.

When The Challenge family lost two of their own last November, it hit everyone hard, from close loved ones to cast members who had never even met Diem Brown and Ryan Knight. It was a rough month for Diem and Knight's friends, family, and even fans who had watched the two competitors for years on the MTV competition series. And when The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2 cast sits down for the reunion show after tonight's epic finale, those feelings of grief and loss are going to rear their heads once more as the cast members remember their friends who had both competed this season (Diem had to leave early due to her health, while Knight was eliminated earlier in the season). Ryan Knight's final moments on The Challenge were characteristic of his right-here-right-now lifestyle: a sudden departure after a volatile series of events that demanded full attention and yet somehow imparted a sense of business unfinished.
Indeed, Knight's own life was unfinished. Two months after his unexpected death on Nov. 27, MTV aired a special Challenge after show early Wednesday that featured a touching memorial to the five years Knight, 28, spent in front of the camera, starting with 2010's The Real World: New Orleans.
During the tribute, Knight's castmates alternated between bursts of laughter and choked-back tears, none more so than Jemmye Carroll.

We spoke with gay former Real World New Orleans housemate Preston Roberson-Charles last summer when he was competing on MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals II. Preston was one of three gay contestants on Rivals II and, paired with his former New Orleans housemate and sometime antagonist Ryan Knight, he made it all the way to the ninth round. Preston is back for the show’s 25th season, The Challenge: Free Agents, this time competing solo for a chance at a $125,000 grand prize. And since the volatile Frank Sweeney was sent packing because of viral pneumonia in episode three, Preston is now the only representative for “Team Gay” remaining on Free Agents. Does he have the drive and physical prowess to make it all the way to the end? We have an exclusive clip from this Thursday night’s episode….

To say Preston Roberson-Charles dealt with a lot of drama as a cast member on The Real World: New Orleans is an understatement. What he really dealt with was Ryan Leslie, the erratically behaved, delusional weirdo who was occasionally so cruel and homophobic, the entire show felt like a harrowing hostage situation. Thankfully Roberson-Charles survived Leslie, because he’s now he’s a cast member on the newest season of The Challenge: Rivals II where’s he paired with a lesser nuisance from New Orleans, Ryan Knight. Although Knight is something of a hockey-playing hotshot who said some homophobic things in New Orleans, he’s a more tenable teammate than Leslie ever would’ve been.
We spoke with the amiable Roberson-Charles about his camaraderie with other gay Real World cast members, his tenuous relationship with Knight, and his all-time Real World crush.

"The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons" is the new season of the long-running competition series on MTV. With "Road Rules" long gone, it's all "The Real World" alumnae -- save for one group from "Fresh Meat" and "Spring Break" challenges -- and this season pits cast-members from various seasons against one another in groups of four.
To make things especially awkward for the team from "The Real World: Austin," Danny Jamieson and Melinda Stolp. met on the show, got married and then got divorced. And now they're back, having to work together toward the $250,000 cash prize.
Another showmance that got real, and then fizzled, created tension for "The Real World: Back to New Orleans" cast, with Ryan Knight and Jemmye Carroll.

I can't be the only one Beyond excited for the new season of MTV's The Challenge. Not only is the cast for Battle of the Seasons insane, they are all relatively new to challenges. As much as I love seeing Johnny act like an asshole every year and Kenny make fun of all the girls for being on crazy pills, I'm ready for some new drama.
We do still have a few Challenge vets (Wes, Sarah, Alton, Dunbar, Trishelle, etc), but I think we've got a great mix of new and old. And let's face it, there are so many exes here, it's bound to get really crazy. Hell, Danny and Melinda used to be married!
Below, we give each of the castmembers a superlative based on the promo and things they've done in the past. We also predict who willl make it to the final challenge. Comment and let us know what you think!

It's that time again! As The Real World: St. Thomas winds down, it's time to get excited for yet another installment of The Challenge! And this time, MTV is going all out by pitting some of the craziest season casts against one another in The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons!
With $250,000 on the line, the cast heads to Turkey where they will compete with their former housemates and live in one of the craziest environments we've ever seen. As you will see in the promo, Danny and Melinda are now divorced and on the same team. We've got my personal fave exes Jemmye and Knight on the same team. We've got more hookups and fights than ever. It's just pure insanity.

The Real World New Orleans 2 cast members Jemmye Carroll and Ryan Knight did not show up for their court date on Wednesday after being arrested last weekend in Florida. The Bay County Courthouse clerk told Radar, "Warrants will be issued and they'll both lose their bond" for not appearing when they were supposed to. Radar also published the original police report, which says they were trying to enter a condominium complex called The Summit.

Two cast members from The Real World New Orleans, the 2010 season, were arrested in Panama City Beach and subsquently attacked cops and others on Twitter, and one of them, Jemmye Carroll, threatened someone who allegedly punched her with death. While they did not smear their own feces on cell walls, that post-arrest reaction on Twitter is similar to Abram Boise's arrest last month, when he bragged about his actions online. Jemmye and Ryan Knight...

Ah, young love. So sweet, so innocent. Unless you're on 'The Real World' (Wed., 10Pm Et on MTV), that is.
[Spoiler alert.]
Jemmye is a young lady from Mississippi. She enjoys drinking and causal sex, and has only ever slept with black men. Ryan Knight -- who prefers to be just called "Knight" -- is a young man from Wisconsin who is recovering from painkiller addiction. On Episode Three of the show, Jemmye slept with Knight. This completed Ryan's plan to be the first white dude to have sex with her. Aw! This is all so sweet! But will these two lovebirds be able to make it work in the long run?
Of course they will! With the help of lots and lots of alcohol, anyone can apparently sleep with anyone. So after a night of heavy drinking, Jemmye and Knight get back together. Then, Knight...
