Post Malone and Eddie Vedder joined forces for an unexpected on-stage collaboration during the Reportin’ For Duty benefit concert in Shelbyville, Tennessee on Saturday night. The two performed covers of Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” and Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”
The duet took place at the Humble Baron at the Nearest Green Whiskey Distillery, described as “the world’s longest bar.” Now in its second year, the tribute show is an intimate concert that celebrates the late comedian Leslie Jordan while raising funds for Eb Research Partnership (Ebrp). The benefit also featured the talents of Jelly Roll, The War And Treaty, Ruby Amanfu, Jake Wesley Rogers, and Dan Spencer.
Vedder, Pearl Jam’s frontman, co-founded Ebrp with his wife Jill. The non-profit global organization is dedicated to funding research to treat and cure the skin disease Epidermolysis Bullosa (Eb).

"How can you universalize the experience of being American." Hulu has launched an official trailer for their documentary film Anthem, which will be streaming on Hulu at the end of this month. Just in time for the 4th of July, of course. Anthem is Onyx Collective's new doc – a musical journey across America to re-imagine our national anthem for today. It's executive produced by Ryan Coogler, and directed by Peter Nicks. The film is hosted by composer Kris Bowers and record producer Dahi. Other guest stars include Joy Harjo, Ruby Amanfu, Charity Bowden, and Cecilia Cassandra Peña-Govea (aka La Doña). The film follows these two musicians as they travel from city to city engaging in conversations about the national anthem, resulting in a "journey to remix the American Sound." The film recently premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. This honestly doesn't exactly seem like the most exciting concept for a film,...

Radical joy and consistent action were the messages at Nashville’s Love Rising benefit concert on Monday, an event that drew supporters to the city’s downtown Bridgestone Arena. Hosted by Drag Race alumna Asia O’Hara and featuring performances by Hayley Williams, Hozier, Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell, Maren Morris, Allison Russell, Joy Oladokun, and Nashville’s drag artists — among many others — the concert raised money for four Tennessee organizations working to fight the state government’s ongoing legislative attacks against the LGBTQ+ community.

Brandi Carlile kept her recent run of memorable Grammy Awards performances alive on Sunday, giving a soaring rendition of her song “Right on Time” during the ceremony.
Carlile began the song, off her latest album In These Silent Days, seated alone at a piano. After playing the intro, she picked up a Les Paul and joined her longtime musical collaborators the Hanseroth twins on an elevated platform, where the stage lights projected all the colors of the prism behind them. SEEEverything to know about Grammys 2022
There were major changes in how these nominees were decided. Chief among those was the elimination of the nomination review committees. For decades those committees would take the top 15 or 20 vote-getters in their categories and decide which would be the final nominees. Those secret, anonymous panels often produced surprising results: this past year The Weeknd was shut out entirely. He decided to boycott the awards, joining in a chorus of music stars who have criticized the voting process. Some of the criticisms even came from inside the house,...

One minute, Yola is talking about the barriers she’s encountered as a black British woman in the music business. The next minute, she’s demonstrating how she’s knocking them down. On a Zoom call from her temporary digs in Madison, Tennessee, wearing a brightly striped turtleneck that matches her effervescent mood, Yola is explaining the meaning of “Barely Alive,” on her new album, Stand for Myself. She sings a bit of its chorus a cappella: “And we try/To get by/And we strive,” she begins, before her voice,...

Alicia Keys and Brandi Carlile have released a new duet, “A Beautiful Noise,” meant to encourage voter turnout in the 2020 elections.
The track is a straightforward but effective bit of piano balladry, with Keys and Carlile trading verses before coming together in perfect harmony, “It’s believing you belong/It’s calling out the wrong/From the silence of my sisters/To the violence of my brother/We can, we can rage/Against the river/Feel the pain of another/I have a voice.”

Alicia Keys and Brandi Carlile surprised viewers of a voter turnout special Thursday night with a duet performance of a new song, “A Beautiful Noise,” which they immediately released as a single following the premiere on “Every Vote Counts: A Celebration of Democracy.”
Keys co-hosted the CBS special along with Kerry Washington and America Ferrera. When Carlile was added as a guest artist in recent days and tweeted that she was “doing a very special performance with someone I’ve wanted to collaborate with for a really long time,” there wasn’t much doubt a duet with Keys was in store (notwithstanding Carlile’s possible lifelong desire to harmonize with Offset or Dan + Shay). But the existence of a new song was still a surprise… though not as surprising as the songwriting credits for the new tune.

Norah Jones takes inspiration from poetry on her latest song “Were You Watching?” from her upcoming seventh studio album Pick Me Up Off the Floor, due out June 12th via Blue Note Records.
The track is a collaboration between Jones, bassist Christopher Thomas, drummer Brian Blade and violinist Mazz Swift, who also sings background vocals along with Ruby Amanfu and Sam Ashworth. Jack White appeared to drop an F-bomb on the Grammys on Sunday night, but CBS claims he didn't. White sang what sounded like the F-word during his performance of "Love Interruption" with Ruby Amanfu during the show, which aired live from the Staples Center on the East Coast. While the lyrics to their song don't include the words "f--- me," it appeared that White and/or Amanfu added them in during their live performance. Many Grammy viewers immediately took to social media to note the apparent utterance of the swear word. Photos: Grammy Awards 2013 Red Carpet Arrivals

Performing solo just never seemed to be Jack White's thing. In his years leading the White Stripes before they disbanded in 2011, you always got the sense that they were a duo more for appearance's sake - just because he liked it that way - than a real creative partnership. (Sorry, Meg.) Even when he did side projects, he chose to work in other bands (the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather) and produce other artists (from Loretta Lynn to Wanda Jackson). With Blunderbuss, though, White finally earns his solo stripes. The album doesn't represent a radical departure - from thumping garage...

There was a familiar face on "Saturday Night Live" on March 3. And it wasn't just guest host Lindsay Lohan.
Ruby Amanfu, who many may remember from Season 3 of "The Sing-Off" when she performed as part of "The Collective," joined musical guest Jack White for a song. And she most certainly held her own.
Amanfu showed off her Grammy-nominated talent as she combined with White on "Love Interruption," the first release from his solo album.
The Ghana native, who now lives in Nashville, has been busy in recent days. In addition to singing with White and performing on "SNL," she just released a four-song Ep, "The Simple Sessions."
So what did you think of her performance?

Jack White has debuted the music video for his new single. The singer is seen giving a live performance of the track, called 'Love Interruption', which marks his debut solo release. The song is backed by singer Ruby Amanfu, who enjoyed a brief solo career in 2003 with her hit single 'Sugah' and accompanying album Smoke & Honey. The track marks the first cut from White's forthcoming album Blunderbuss, which will be released on April 23 via Xl Recordings and Third Man Records. 'Love Interruption' was originally (more)...

Nothing says Valentine's Day like the line "I want love / to murder my own mother." Jack White has released the accompanying music video to his single "Love Interruption," and you can be assured by his baller status because he surrounds himself with beautiful women. Duetting singer Ruby Amanfu, singer-songwriter Brooke Waggoner on wurlitzer and classical performer Emily Bowland on bass clarinet round out the band on this sparse track, their beehives cast into the blue, blue air of the clip. Oh! And there's a dog. There's a widdle wuv for you. White directed the clip himself. "Love Interruption" was released as...

Jack White hasn't exactly been living life outside the public eye since announcing the end of the White Stripes last year, making records with everyone from Tom Jones to the Insane Clown Posse and appearing on a (really pretty excellent) episode of "American Pickers," to name just a few of his endeavors.
And on April 24, he'll officially add "solo artist" to that résumé, with the release of Blunderbuss, the first album to bear his name — and his name only. And while we suppose the move was inevitable, according to White, he never really had any plans to go solo. In fact, Blunderbuss, the first album basically began life as a happy accident.
"I didn't really even think of recording under my own name for a long time," White told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe on Monday.

Elephant fan Jack White premiered the first single from his maiden solo album, Blunderbuss, on his website, Jack White III, today, and, as Martha says, that's a good thing. White described Blunderbuss, which is due April 24, as "an album I couldn't have released until now. I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas." "Love Interruption" is pretty mellow, a countrified acoustic number with warm keyboards featuring vocal assistance from Nashville artist Ruby Amanfu. It's more Raconteurs than Dead Weather, and kind of reminds me of the Robert Plant-Alison Krauss bluegrass stuff. Being Jack White, I'm sure [...]...
