Zee5’s Silence… Can You Hear It? is an investigative drama film about the death of a young girl who was the daughter of a retired justice. Crime thrillers are a rage in the Ott space, and there are multiple films and television shows in the genre that are either brilliant or plain bad. There was no reason stated or understood as to why the movie was titled Silence… Can You Hear It? because it doesn’t seem to bear any relevance with the actual content of the movie.
Silence 1 begins with a few young college students trekking at a spot far away from Mumbai. The boys accidentally find the dead body of Pooja Chaudhary. It was obvious she was murdered, and her body was dumped this far away in the hope it would not be discovered by anyone. Pooja Chaudhary was the daughter of a retired justice who was good friends with Kavita Khanna.

Mumbai, April 16 (Ians) Actor Rishabh Jaiswal, who plays the role of Krish Bansal in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ (Yrkkh) has called it the ‘best’ character, adding how he also went through a similar confusion when he was in the college.
Rishabh said Krish has a great graph, and he can relate well to his character.
He said: “Krish is a very diverse character because he is a person who lives in a very loving environment. He loves his mother, his sister-in-law, his brother and respects his parents a lot, but now there is so much pressure on him to follow his career and follow his dreams.”
“His father is not allowing him to follow his dreams, so now Krish is actually becoming a rebel and going against his father to pursue his dream. I feel I am contributing to the overall atmosphere of the show, through my role,” said Rishabh.

London, Aug 9 (Ians) Former England captain Nasser Hussain has identified the one area that Team India need to bolster if they are to improve their Test record away from home and claim a first Icc World Test Championship title this cycle.
While India reached the most recent final of the Icc World Test Championship on the back of some great success on home soil, their form away from the sub-continent remains an ongoing concern for Hussain.
India recently defeated the West Indies 1-0 in the Caribbean and played some excellent cricket in Bangladesh at the end of last year to inch towards a maiden appearance in the World Test Championship Final, but results away from home have been mixed for Rohit Sharma’s side outside those two series.
Hussain believes when playing at home India have the right blend of players to continue to prosper.

Port of Spain, July 25 (Ians) Indian wicket keeper-batter Ishan Kishan believes that England cricket team’s ‘Bazball’ batting approach is best suited for flat surfaces and it is not necessary to play in that aggressive manner in every Test match.
After making his Test debut in the first match against the West Indies in Dominica, Ishan who scored his maiden Test fifty in 33 balls in the second innings of the drawn second game here, emphasized the significance of pitch conditions in shaping the batting strategy.
He pointed out that on flat surfaces, where quick scoring is possible, employing the ‘Bazball’ approach could prove advantageous.
“It is not possible that you can play that fast everyday, it depends upon the situation also. If the wicket is flat, where you can score quick, and the need of the team is to get runs quickly, then I think you can take on that action,...

With the ball coming nicely on to the bat, Saha was effortlessly toying with the lines and lengths of Lucknow’s bowlers, especially of Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan, making 54 out of the hosts’ 78 runs in power-play, bringing up his fifty in 20 balls and setting the base for Gujarat to bat Lucknow out of the game.
For someone who began his Ipl career in the middle order and hit a century in an Ipl final while coming at number four, Saha has now adapted quietly and quickly to the role of power-play enforcer for Gujarat, where he has a strike-rate of 137.18 in Ipl 2023.
"Since childhood, I had the nature of hitting the ball hard even if the circle is up. Yes, when I started in the Ipl, I was batting at number six or seven in Kkr, Csk. Sometimes chances came of opening the batting or playing in the top-order.

Rahane, who made his Test debut against Australia at New Delhi in 2013, had carved a reputation for himself as being one of India’s dependable batters in overseas conditions, as seen from eight of his 12 Test centuries coming outside of home.
However, a dip in form despite making a fantastic century against Australia in the 2020 Boxing Day Test and leading India to an unforgettable 2-1 Border-Gavaskar Trophy triumph, meant Rahane was last seen in the format in January 2022 against South Africa at Cape Town, where he had scores of 9 and 1.
After accumulating 136 runs in six innings as India lost the series 2-1 against Proteas, Rahane was left out of the Test squad for the home series against Sri Lanka.
Injuries to Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant leading to a hole in the Indian middle-order along with his sizzling form in Ipl 2023, played a hand in Rahane’s return to the Test squad after 14 months.

Australia was beaten by an inning and 132 runs in the first Test and lost the second inside three days by 6 wickets. However, India allowed Australia to claw back into the 4-match series and make it 1-2 after a dismal batting display against the spin attack in the third Test in Indore.

In 2022, Pant scored 364 runs in 25 T20Is, averaging 21.41 at a strike-rate of 132.84. In 12 ODIs this year, he made 336 runs, averaging 37.33 and strike-rate of 96.55. But in Tests, Pant has been at his best, making 680 runs in 12 innings at an average of 61.81 and strike-rate of 90.90.
Former India opener Gautam Gambhir thinks that Pant needs to focus on red-ball cricket while he waits to have a chance at making the cut for white-ball cricket. "That’s why he’s not part of both squads. His white-ball numbers are not that great as compared to his Test numbers."
"That’s why people like Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Kl Rahul, who’s kept wickets in the ODIs, they are now ahead of Rishabh Pant. Look at Ishan Kishan, when he got that opportunity, he scored a double hundred in ODIs, so how can you ignore someone like him?"

Christchurch, Dec 1 (Ians) India’s stand-in Odi skipper Shikhar Dhawan stated that in backing Rishabh Pant over Sanju Samson, one has to see the larger picture on who is a “match-winner” and has to be “backed” by the team management.
In India’s 1-0 series loss, Pant’s lean form and Samson’s exclusion from the playing eleven grabbed headlines. In his last nine innings across white-ball matches for India, Pant had scores of 10, 15, 11, 6, 6, 3, 9, 9 and 27.
Samson, on the other hand, entered the series against New Zealand after being unbeaten in the home Odi series against South Africa. He also hit a fine 36 in the first Odi at Auckland, but was kept out of playing eleven for the next two matches as India preferred Deepak Hooda for sixth bowling option quota.
“It wasn’t that tough. For example, Rishabh played and scored a hundred in England, so we had to back him.

Hyderabad, Sep 25 (Ians) India won the toss and elected to bowl first against Australia in the series-deciding third and final Twenty20 International at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
This is the first international match at this venue since the 2019 match between India and West Indies.
India made one change in the team that won the 2nd match in Nagpur, bringing in Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Rishabh Pant.
“A lot of noise on the ground. It’s good to be back in Hyderabad and play in front of this crowd. We look to keep winning games, it’s important to maintain your momentum in this format of the game, so it was a good win for us. Australia have always been challenging, they bring in a different kind of challenge,” said Rohit Sharma during the toss.
“We need to keep doing the basics right if we have to get success.

Dubai, Sep 23 (Ians) A day after former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said India should look to field both Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant in their T20I playing eleven, wicketkeeping great Adam Gilchrist has thrown his support in Pant’s favour, saying that the southpaw should definitely be in the playing eleven.
For a while, there has been a long-ranging debate on who between Karthik and Pant should start in India’s eleven for the Icc Men’s T20 World Cup starting next month in Australia. While right-handed Karthik can boast about being a specialist finisher in the shortest format of the game, Pant’s left-handed angle in the top six, despite his T20I record not being much impressive, cannot be ignored.
“The dare of Rishabh Pant and the courage for him, the way in which he takes on bowling attacks. I think he’s got to be a must in that Indian line-up.

Dubai, Sep 22 (Ians) For a while, there has been a long-ranging debate on who should be India’s designated wicketkeeper-batter between veteran Dinesh Karthik and youngster Rishabh Pant ahead of Men’s T20 World Cup starting next month in Australia.
While right-handed Karthik can boast about being a specialist finisher in the shortest format of the game, left-handed Pant’s enormous talent has seen him get the back of many experts.
Now, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting believes India should look to field both Karthik and Pant in the same eleven, something which has happened on a few occasions in the past.
“I actually think that India’s best team has both of these players (Karthik and Pant). I don’t care if they are both keepers but I think their batting prowess is enough. Rishabh in the middle order and Dinesh as a finisher, they look extremely dangerous to me,...

Mumbai, Sep 17 (Ians) Sri Lankan cricket great Mahela Jayawardene feels India have suffered a major blow with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja getting injured and not being a part of the 15-member squad for the Icc T20 World Cup, set to being in Australia next month.
Jadeja underwent a knee surgery a week back and is in the recovery phase, posting messages on social media and keeping his fans updated on his progress.
Jadeja had injured his right knee and was ruled out of the 2022 Asia Cup after playing the first two games in the continental event. The 33-year-old had also missed India’s tour of the West Indies in July owing to an injury.
“It is a challenge (for India). They had fitted him (Jadeja) nicely in that No.5 role. He has been batting really well and him and Hardik (Pandya) being in that top six — two guys who can give...

Mumbai, Sep 10 (Ians) With just over a month remaining for the start of the Icc Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, the Indian team is still in the process of finalising its lineup. They tried different combinations in the ongoing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as some worked and some did not.
The 2007 T20 World Cup winner Robin Uthappa has waded into this discussion and opined that Deepak Hooda should be used in the No. 5 spot in T20Is, saying that things are going in favour of the 27-year-old. The T20 World Cup will be held in Australia from October 16 to November 13.
Hooda has been in great form since making his T20I debut for India many experts have felt that the batting allrounder should be in the team as he provides an option for bowling a couple of overs too.
Uthappa said that the No.

Dubai, Sep 5 (Ians) India skipper Rohit Sharma admitted that losing wickets of Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya in quick succession was something that was not needed for the side at that juncture of the match.
Pushed into batting first, Rohit and K.L Rahul came out all guns blazing in a 54-run opening stand as India reverted back to their aggressive attacking approach. Virat Kohli top-scored for India with 60 off 44 balls, hitting four fours and a six while running hard between the wickets and was superb against pacers.
But Pant and Pandya fell in a span of six balls in a bid to go big. While Pant reverse-swept straight to backward point off Shadab Khan, Pandya, hero of India’s five-wicket win over Pakistan in Group A match, punched a cross-seam ball from Mohammad Hasnain straight to a forward diving short mid-wicket to depart for a two-ball duck.

Dubai, Sep 1 (Ians) Talismanic India batter Virat Kohli admitted that he was completely blown away by Suryakumar Yadav’s knock of an unbeaten 68 off just 26 balls, crediting him for completely changing the complexion of the game on a pitch which wasn’t as easy to play as he made it look.
Suryakumar shared a 98-run stand off just 42 balls with Virat Kohli, who made 59 in 44 balls, hitting four and three sixes in his 31st T20I fifty and brought out some shots in the end as India fetched 78 runs in the last five overs to score a daunting 192-2 against Hong Kong.
“Sky (Suryakumar) played an outstanding knock, a knock that I enjoyed thoroughly from the other end on a pitch which wasn’t as easy as he made it look, to be honest. It was a brilliant knock to watch from the other end. I’ve seen so many...

Dubai, Aug 28 (Ians) India captain Rohit Sharma has won the toss and elected to bowl first in their Asia Cup 2022 Group A opener against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Greeted by a huge roar from fans in a near full-house after winning the toss, Sharma further said they have picked Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant for the last batting slot in the playing eleven.
It means that India have chosen their designated finisher over the left-handedness provided by Pant. “It was a tough call we had to take between playing Dinesh and Rishabh, Rishabh sadly misses out. And Avesh makes it as the third seamer,” said Rohit.
He further said that with this being India’s first game in Asia Cup 2022, they are focused on improving their previous mistakes.
“Honestly, I don’t think the toss is that important, we are just here to play good cricket.

Mumbai, Aug 28 (Ians) India batter Cheteshwar Pujara believes it’s impossible to have both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in the playing XI during the Asia Cup, given the India team management is unlikely to make changes in the top order — comprising Kl Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav — and the duo are known to play specialised roles in the side.
India will take on Pakistan in the Asia Cup opener in Dubai later on Sunday, with the former keen to avenge the 10-wicket loss against the arch-rivals during the Icc T20 World Cup at the same venue last year.
Pant is a left hander and is used more as a floater in the side because of his adaptability, while Karthik is known for his role as a finisher.
