The 16th annual Barrymore Awards, which recognize excellence in Philadelphia-area theater, were presented Monday at the city's Walnut Street Theatre by the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia.Women were prominent among winners of the 27 awards, including Sarah Sanford, who took home the F. Otto Haas Award for an emerging Philadelphia theater artist, which comes with a $10,000 prize. The Philadelphia Theatre Company's production of "The Light in the Piazza" took seven awards, the most of any nominated musical.
