John Bowman was born October 24th, 1971, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He
caught the filmmaking bug in 1981, after watching "Great movie stunts,
and the making of Raiders of the Lost Ark" on Television. Along with
best friend David Gentry, and his fathers video camera, they began to
make shorts, and film fight scenes. John studied every book he could
get his hands on about making movies, and constantly was watching them.
Influenced by the likes of Peter Jackson, Robert Rodriguez, Rob Zombie,
John Carpenter, and George Romero, and learning from all of them. Due
to taking different paths, and two failed marriages, John realized it
was time to do what he should have done years ago. Make a movie. John
Started making Massacre in August of 2006. Along with friends,
coworkers, and family, and anyone willing to work for free, he built
the film a little at a time, and finally finished the film in June of
2010, with a budget of around 4000 dollars that came a little bit at a
time from his paycheck.
"I just hope everyone has as much fun watching it, as I had making it. Horror films have been a major part of my life for many years, and I just want the chance to make a Horror film that fans can enjoy." John Bowman
