The designers had been instructed to create an outfit that would fit a Marie Claire magazine reader, with the winning design being displayed on a billboard in Times Square. A late challenge delivered by Tim Gunn also saw them having to accompany their model to the photoshoot to help create the image that would be used on the billboard. Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia were joined by Marie Claire's editor-in-chief Joanna Coles for the runway, which saw Christoper, Michael C, Aj, Michael D, Ivy, Andy, Casanova, Kristin, Sarah and April granted a place in the next round. Running out of time on yet another task meant curtains for arrogant competitor Jason Troisi on this week's 'Project Runway' (Thu., 9Pm on Lifetime). During this week's Marie Claire challenge, the hat-wearing reprobate employed "user-friendly" safety pins instead of buckles on his spacey silver "infinity" dress and left gaping holes both in his outfit and in the audience's confidence in his sense of fashion and good taste.
"It's not working," said Marie Claire editor in chief Joanna Coles during the photo shoot. "It looks like a mistake, or a hole in the dress."

Sound the alarm! It looks like one of the Project Runway contestants gets physically taken away for stealing someone else’s design!
The competition is about to get very serious on second episode of Project Runway’s eighth season! “There’s an accusation about cheating,” mentor Tim Gunn tells the competing designers in the dramatic episode. And then … Smack! Someone gets punched in the face, an ambulances arrives, someone gets rushed to the emergency room And someone else gets put on a respirator. Omg!
“You copied my dress,” designer Michael Costello shouts at someone.
“What the hell were you thinking,” says Nicholas D’Aurizio!
“This gift and talent is a curse to me,” cries Mondo Guerra.
“I am a silent assassin when it comes to competitions,” says Andy South!
From what we can tell from the video, it looks as though maybe A.J. Thouvenot punches Michael Drummond.

McKell may have been kicked off, but designers Casanova, Jason Troisi and Iva Higa still need to watch their backs — they could be sent home next!
It wasn’t just a regular premiere July 29 for the eighth season of Lifetime’s Project Runway. It was still audition time for the designers and one of them just didn’t make the cut. Host Heidi Klum, judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia and guest judge Selma Blair sent 29-year-old McKell Maddox packing!
But, McKell wasn’t the only ones the judges were tempted to cut loose; they also called out designers Casanova, Jason Troisi and Ivy Higa for their questionable designs.
The first challenge began with Heidi asking the contestants to “please open up [your bags] and pull out one item you would like to incorporate into your garment … now pass it to the person on your right.”
