Ashley Hebert became the Bachelorette from Brad Womack‘s second stint on “The Bachelor,” but that was not the original plan. On Monday’s “The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons — Ever!”, which revisited Womack’s two seasons as the Bachelor — Season 11 in 2007 and Season 15 in 2011 — Chris Harrison revealed that Chantal O’Brien, Womack’s runner-up from Season 15, was the first choice to hand out roses.
O’Brien clarified that she did not turn down the opportunity and had said yes, but then she went on a blind date.
“After our first date I called my best friend and I just said, ‘I just met my future husband,'” she recalled. “So it was that clear to me and I felt really bad because I’d committed to you guys to do [‘The Bachelorette’], but I also had to be honest. And I know you guys wouldn’t want somebody whose heart was somewhere else.

The Bachelor's Emily Maynard has said that she finds it hard knowing who to trust since appearing on the show. Maynard became engaged to Brad Womack on the season finale of The Bachelor in South Africa earlier this year after he chose her over Chantal O'Brien. The couple chose to stay out of the limelight once the show had wrapped, but announced this week that they had called off their engagement. Maynard recently taped an interview with The Bachelor host Chris Harrison, to be aired on The Bachelorette on Monday, in which she will discuss her relationship with Womack. In a preview obtained by Us Weekly, she is seen telling Harrison that she wants to "focus on being a mom" and not worry about who to trust or whether something she says in confidence will become a tabloid headline. Maynard says: "I think all this attention (more)...

Bachelor couple Brad Womack and Emily Maynard have split. Maynard confirmed the separation to the new issue of People magazine, revealing that she and Texas-based bar owner Womack have ended their engagement. Womack proposed to mother-of-one Maynard on the finale of The Bachelor's last season in South Africa, choosing her over runner-up Chantal O'Brien. However, the couple revealed on After The Final Rose that they briefly broke up following the proposal because of the "trials and tribulations" that normal couples go through, before patching up their differences. Rumours that Womack and Maynard had split again emerged later that year, with Maynard's mom telling People in April that the couple had an "on off" relationship. Maynard has now confirmed the break-up, telling the magazine, which hits newsstands Friday, (more)...

Brad Womack chose Southern belle Emily Maynard on the season finale of "The Bachelor" Monday night (March 14). While host Chris Harrison addressed the press (with some strong words for the tabloids) and runner-up Chantal O'Brien also spoke about her experience, the newly public couple has chosen not to do any press following their television engagement.
Instead, they released a statement:
At long last, Emily and I can be open to the world and each other about our relationship. Though we are madly in love, it has been a bumpy couple of months for us and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship. We hope that you can respect our privacy as we return to normalcy and begin our off-screen lives together.

Bachelor fans saw Texas bar owner Brad Womack gently let down Seattle executive assistant Chantal O'Brien on the season finale Monday night so that he could propose to single mom Emily Maynard. But the adventurous 28-year-old O'Brien was confused by the dismissal, leaving a puddle of tears behind in South Africa. People spoke to O'Brien, who happily reports she's back in Seattle and "in a really good place." It was sad watching you leave on the finale. I'm doing a lot better! What you saw on the finale, I had just gotten my heart broken. There I was thinking this...

During Monday night's (March 15) "After the Final Rose" reunion special part of "The Bachelor" finale, Chantal O'Brien revealed that she is happily dating someone. "Bachelor" insider Reality Steve says that the only reason Ashley Hebert is the new "Bachelorette" instead of Chantal is because Chantal turned them down because of her new boyfriend.
The new boyfriend is none other than Jeff Razore. A little Googling tells us he is a marketing consultant for Evergreen Capital. His bio reads:
Jeff is a Seattle Native. He attended Bellevue High school and later earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. After college he helped found and launch Ndr media. The company specialized in designing and installing interactive software that focused leveraging retail advertisements. Jeff is actively involved in community service and local athletics. When you cut right to the heart of it, the typical season finale of The Bachelor has a lot in common with the “torture porn” genre of horror films: After spending six weeks isolating a group of women from their families, friends, and careers, then “eliminating” them one by one, a maniacal lady killer brings his final two “bachelorettes” to a deserted mansion, where only one will come out alive. Of course, if we’re viewing The Bachelor as an extended slasher movie, then Monday night’s “After the Final Rose” represented the climactic scene where our heroine wreaked bloody (verbal) revenge on her tormentor.

She didn't even make The Bachelor finale (she came in third), but Ashley Hebert was confirmed as the new star of The Bachelorette after the show last night.
The announcement came on Jimmy Kimmel Live, just hours after the season finale aired on ABC. Brad Womack selected Emily Maynard over Chantal O'Brien.
On the After the Final Rose special, Chantal revealed that she is already in a new relationship, possibly explaining why she isn't the new Bachelorette star.
This summer, Ashley Hebert graduates from dental school ... to The Bachelorette!
A 26-year-old native of far-flung Madawaska, Maine, the effervescent cutie looks forward to turning the tables and having the guys fight for her this time.
Unlike the sentiment expressed by many viewers after the show, Ashley said she has full confidence in Brad and Emily. She has no hard feelings, either.

The Bachelor season finale and After the Final Rose special were intense.
It all came down to one very difficult decision for reality TV's most notorious commitment-shy Bachelor, and there were certainly plenty of bumps on the way there.
That decision was what we had predicted, but it will be questioned by some, especially in light of some of the revelations that surfaced on the post-finale special.
Both women, Chantal O'Brien and Emily Maynard, met Brad Womack's family, and both earned the seal of approval. Although it was clear where his heart was.
On the final two dates, things got a little heated with Emily as Brad pondered whether he could really take on the role of father to her little girl as well as husband.
Oddly, she may have had greater resistance and reservations to the idea than he. But would that fact tilt the scales in favor of Chantal?...

Following the season finale of "The Bachelor", ABC aired an "After the Final Rose" episode to give viewers an update on Brad Womack's relationship with the girl that he dumped, Chantal O'Brien, and the girl whom he proposed to, Emily Maynard. Chantal, for one, is still bitter about the rejection but she has moved on with another man.
It was awkward as expected when Brad and Chantal were put in the same room. He described the experience as something great and Chantal "deserved to be there". She particularly did not like this phrase, complaining Brad should have said that he kept her to the very last because he "felt" something for her and wanted her there.
Brad then moved to the subject that eased his position. He heard that Chantal is now dating someone and called him a lucky guy. Chantal confirmed that she is in a wonderful relationship but won't give name.

Brad Womack just chose Emily Maynard on "The Bachelor" finale - and now on "After the Final Rose," we find out if they are still together.
But first!
Runner-up Chantal O'Brien is of course there and she's still fairly emotional about the experience, awww. She does look smoking hot in bright red, though. They bring Brad out and they seem to feel a little awkward, but friendly. Until he is talking about the experience and Chantal interprets his words to mean that he knew it was going to be Emily, but he kept Chantal around because she was fun or something.
She doesn't like the "deserved to be there" comments when it should be "I felt for you and I wanted you there." Agree with Chantal on that one, that's the wrong sentiment. She says it feels like he's discounting their romantic feelings and that's sort of true, he seemed...

The rejected Bachelor contestants didn't hold back last night in letting Michelle know what they thought of her. Granted, Michelle's editing was difficult to watch and I was ready to see her go, but these girls went too far, especially in being judge and jury of what kind of mother she is. Only one week left until we finally find out if Bachelor Brad asked Chantal O'Brien or Emily Maynard to marry him. As we all clearly saw at last night's Women Tell All, walking away from the final rose ceremony is not an option this time. Brad is leaving with a bride.

As I say at the end of every season (as this is my Fourth season covering The Bachelor/ette, so feel free to call me Professor Bachelor, I don't mind) part of the fun is declaring a loyalty to one of the final two, regardless of whether we "know" who Brad will pick or not. In light of The Bachelor spoilers revealed yesterday, and in light of common sense, this week's installment of the ABC reality show was more or less predictable.
That's not the only reason we watch, of course. You want to see the scenery, the drama, the tearful exchanges, the emotion, the flat-out awkwardness of Brad Womack.
Still, you knew from the onset who was outta there Monday night.
Chantal O'Brien is the woman to beat.
Ashley Hebert is a great girl, but she just didn't lack the connection with Brad that Chantal O'Brien and Emily Maynard have. That and, well, she's The Bachelorette.
That's the rumor anyway. You could tell from the start of her date that with the other two women, he's positively smitten. With Ashley, he tries to Make it work.
When you have to try so hard to establish there's a connection, there probably isn't one. At least...

After weeks of courting and drama, Brad Womack downsized thirty women to just two in the February 28 episode of "The Bachelor". Dental student Ashley Hebert was sent home in a mature way, leaving Chantal O'Brien and Emily Maynard as the finalists.
The final three received a personal date with Brad in Africa, both to have fun and to talk more seriously about where they were heading in the relationship. Emily confronted Brad with the fact that she is a mother to young daughter, Chantal said she would agree to an engagement and Ashley revealed to Brad how she wants to pursue her career as a dentist in Maine.
Chantal and Ashley ended up spending the night with Brad in the fantasy suite while Emily insists on pending the intimate level because she has to set a good example to her daughter.
Brad sent home Ashley by breaking her from the group before the rose ceremony.

In last week's episode of The Bachelor mortician Shawntel Newton was sent packing after her hometown date with Brad Womack. Shawntel felt compelled to "lay all the cards on the table." But "the table" was an embalming one and she decided to lay Brad there as well. She brought him to her morgue and showed him how the process works, just for fun. Viewers knew it was the beginning of the end. The final nail in the coffin came when Shawntel dropped the bomb on her dad, that if she married Brad she would not be taking over the family funeral home business as she had promised. When Brad realized he was breaking up the family, he cut Shawntel lose.
We spoke with the ousted bachelorette in a recent conference call interview about her predictions for who she thinks Brad will choose, if she has...

Ashley Hebert? Emily Maynard? Chantal O'Brien? It's one of the three!
Tonight on The Bachelor, Brad Womack takes the remaining women to South Africa. One of the women will be let go, leaving two for the season finale.
On March 14, the winner of that final rose will be revealed ... if you want to wait until then. Newly-available intel strongly indicates who it is right now.
Who gets engaged to Brad Womack on The Bachelor?
Interestingly, if you've been reading The Bachelor spoilers up until now, it's actually Not who you think. Previous reports now look largely false. Intrigued yet?
Sources now suggest a different conclusion to the season finale, though prior rumors that one of the final three will be The Bachelorette appear to be correct.

She's still alive on The Bachelor, but one of the three women Brad Womack takes to South Africa next Monday has already signed on to be The Bachelorette.
How The Bachelor spoilers get out, we have no idea, but many of them do turn out to be totally accurate (like everything this season so far, as a matter of fact).
So who's it going to be? Will Brad do as many expect and pick Chantal O'Brien, crushing Emily Maynard but allowing her to star on The Bachelorette in June?
Follow the link to learn the identity of the next Bachelorette ...
Will you accept this rose? No, but I will star on The Bachelorette! My name is ...

Brad Womack has already let it slip that he does propose to the winner of The Bachelor during the series’ March 14 finale. Now Life & Style can exclusively reveal another end-of-season secret: Brad offers his beloved the priciest engagement ring in Bachelor history!
While Brad could have left the task of choosing a ring to the series’ producers — he personally selected the 3-carat ring from jeweler to the stars Neil Lane. “It’s worth $90,000,” an insider tells Life & Style exclusively. “The stone is a round diamond with a pavé eternity band. The setting is in platinum. The whole piece is just spectacular.”
Right now, Chantal O’Brien seems to be the frontrunner for Brad’s affections. Although the finale was taped months ago, the bride-to-be’s identity will remain a mystery until the finale airs, but one thing is clear, says the insider, “Whoever is getting that ring is a lucky,...

It's down to the final three contestants on The Bachelor! As Brad Womack and the remaining women - Emily Maynard, Ashley Hebert and Chantal O'Brien - head to South Africa (and fantasy suites?), Brad promises the show is going to "get really, really good." But which of the ladies is really, really right for the Brad? He says each of his hometown visits to meet the women's families were "perfect in its own, unique way." In Charlotte, N.C., he met Emily's daughter and "my heart melted by just being around that little girl," he said. He was also...

'The Bachelor' is complicated -- Ok, not really, but it's not all that entertaining these days. That's why Lincee Ray of I Hate Green Beans recaps only the good stuff for us each week.
This week's hometown dates brought kids, mansions, meta statues, creepy funeral home antics and so, so much more. Like fashion tips! Who doesn't have a New York City balcony pondering hat? Fingerless gloves are also making a comeback, apparently. Be afraid Brad. Be very afraid.
But our favorite part was Brad and Chantal O.'s dad bonding, both on the same wavelength about being self-made men. (Please!) Brad better make room for that petting zoo of hers ...

Hello again, everybody! I hope you enjoyed watching the hometown visits. This week was especially important to me because I place such an emphasis on family. It gave me true insight about where the women come from and what life would be like with each of them in their everyday lives. First of all, each of the families were so welcoming, warm and hospitable. I was welcomed into each home with open arms and I'm truly grateful for that. One thing I'd like to point out - it seemed as if this go-around I wasn't met with any skepticism. During...

Hometown dates. When else will Brad Womack have the chance to learn about the women he's considering marrying? At least until he stars on The Bachelor next time?
We joke. You know darn well (and The Bachelor spoilers confirm) he picks someone this time. The only question is which one of the three women left standing now.
After dates that saw Brad travel to the far corners of the country, he's cut his field once again, leaving three worthy candidates to travel with him to South Africa.
We begin in Seattle, Wa., where he meets Chantal O'Brien. Her family has kind of a nice house. And by kind of nice we mean nicer than The Bachelor mansion.
Brad seems most at home with Chantal, and not just because her folks are so loaded. Of all the women, the rapport here seems the most natural, normal.
Her family seems to appreciate and recognize this.

Bachelor contestant Michelle Money, who was kicked off the reality show last night, comments on how she was portrayed on ABC's The Bachelor.
“I think there are a lot of misconceptions,” Michelle exclusively tells Life & Style about her role as this season’s villain. “It's hard for me to watch the show.”
While competing for Bachelor Brad Womack’s heart, Michelle’s jealous and possessive antics led fans to label her as the series’ craziest contestant ever. But the 30-year-old single mom, who was eliminated on the Feb. 14 episode, says that’s not the real her.
“Anyone who knows me, knows who I am, knows me and the real me,” Michelle tells Life & Style. “I've definitely noticed how I've been cast. It's out of my control. I'm proud of who I am. I'm proud to be a strong, independent woman.”

At least The Bachelor contestant Jackie Gordon was treated to a private Train concert, a lap around a Nascar track and a trip to Costa Rica before being sent home to New York without a new beau named Brad. The artist, 28, spoke with People about how disappointing it was to be eliminated before "unladylike" Michelle and whether her limo love confession was for real. What was going through your head when it was down to you and Michelle at the rose ceremony? My heart was pounding out of my chest. I was sweating and thinking, "Please God do not say...

The Bachelor! Chantal O and Brad Womack zip through speed date and head straight into the bedroom? [Feb. 7] The sixth episode of the fifteenth season of the reality television show, the Bachelor, featured the usual formula, two one-on-one dates and a dramatic group date. The first one-on-one date included a date with Chantal O. and repeat Bachelor Brad Womack. Together, they took their relationship to new heights as they zipped through the Costa Rican rainforest. Was the date a success or did they get washed out? As the day progressed, we saw the rain begin to get heavier but this did not put a damper on the couple. As Brad described, the date seemed to be pretty ‘electric’. The evening started out with excitement on the zip cord and ended up with bedroom drama? Originally having planned for a picnic, the couple soon found themselves running to get out of the rain.

The Bachelor is really heating up this season. Burning up the Nascar track, if you will. It's clear that fair Emily Maynard is Brad Womack's favorite after this episode.
Recapping this week feels almost pointless, since we all know Emily is advancing to the final rose ceremony (it could not be more obvious), not to mention Chantal O.
We don't say this because of The Bachelor spoilers we read, it's playing out on the screen and in the previews for the rest of the season. ABC gives too much away.
Brad and Emily coincidentally go on a Nascar date.
Anyway, here's your brief rundown. Shawntel Newton gets the first date, and goes on yet another helicopter tour of Las Vegas. They have dinner on a roof and see fireworks.
Shawntel gets a rose en route to the final ... well, forget it.
The group date, wouldn't you know it, involved Nascar time trials.

‘The Bachelor’ Season 15, Week 5: TV Recap. “Things are about to get serious,” Chris Harrison told the ladies at the top of tonight’s show. Then he promptly announced they were going to Vegas. A plane trip, limo ride and run-and-jump-hug-Brad parade later, the ladies had arrived in Sin City. Brad got right down to business, leaving a one-on-one date card for Shawntel N., who’s clearly out to make me eat my words about Chantal O. being the most...
