Andrew Bachelor has signed with CAA as the social media star-turned-actor and producer partners with the talent agency for representation.
The Canadian-born comic and actor, also known as “King Bach,” has in all around 75 million fans online, especially on Vine, the shortform video-sharing platform. Vine’s limit of six seconds per-movie makes for creative challenges, but Bachelor leveraged his NYU Film School training to pack full dramas into each short Vine post to amass a giant following.
Bachelor then crossed over to film where his credits include Netflix’s comedy Coffee and Kareem, where he starred with Taraji P. Henson, Ed Helms and Betty Gilpin, and the streaming giant’s horror film The Babysitter: Killer Queen, which also starred Jenna Ortega, Samara Weaving and Bella Thorne.

Before Rudy Mancuso wrote, directed, starred in and composed the music for his stylish debut feature, Música, he made exuberant short-form videos for Vine (R.I.P). In those six-second clips, many of which are compiled on YouTube, the artist experiments with slapstick comedy, an energetic editing style and bouncy compositions that channel how he sees the world. Mancuso has synesthesia, a perceptual condition in which any one kind of sensory stimulation can spark spontaneous reactions in another. Where others see a square, Mancuso might also hear a B note; the letter A will always be terracotta to him, and so on.
In Música, the artist mines his personal life and singular experience of the world to craft a charming coming-of-age story. The film, which premiered at SXSW and is streaming on Prime Video, follows Rudy (Mancuso) six weeks before his college graduation, when the young Newark native must confront...

It’s a drizzly Mondy morning in New York, and the hotel restaurant I’m sitting in is filled with the sounds of prep work for the day. To me, the tinkling glasses and ringing silverware are easily ignorable, the hodgepodge of clinks and clatters immediately fading into the background. But for writer and director Rudy Mancuso — of Vine and YouTube stardom — there’s a veritable drum line around us, being played bottle by bottle. Actually, it’s the very reason we’re here.

This is the only way they’ll be able to move forward. There’s a new report that says the only way that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will ever find themselves in the good graces of the royal family is if they make a step to fix all their wrongs and make them into rights.
And the only way that will happen is if they apologize. And the first person that they should say they are sorry to is none other than Kate Middleton.

When Chase met Melo, he knew there was something special about her.
He’d been in social media for years, first on Instagram, where he built and sold pages, and then on Vine. Vine was where he figured out short-form comedy is his jam–but he also likes longer, dramatic skits, and it was while casting for one of those skits in 2017 that he found Melo.
“I saw something in her,” he says. “[S]he had just started filming, but that was a year I was trying to be more expansive, and then I asked her to do a dramatic role in a short film that I was making, even though she had just started acting.

Queen Astraea had just gotten a cool internship when Covid hit. Not long after, she found herself unceremoniously laid off.
“They didn’t bother to give us two weeks’ notice, nothing of the sort,” she says. “Everyone’s dying, no one is hiring, and I’m thinking to myself, I’m going to maybe lose my home. Oh my god.”
In the midst of panic and grief, one of her friends rang her up and asked if she’d heard of TikTok. Both she and her friend are LARPers, and their group was considering uploading some videos with their characters and costumes.

BBC presenter Jeremy Vine has slammed social media as a “massive fountain of sewage” after he was wrongly accused of being the star who allegedly paid a teenager for sex pictures.
Vine was one of at least four top male BBC presenters who were forced to distance themselves from wild and defamatory speculation circulating on social media on Saturday.
Vine was trending on Twitter at one point and had to make clear to his 788,000 followers that he was in no way linked to the explicit images storm.
Speaking on his eponymous Channel 5 show this morning, Vine said: “Over the weekend, a number of names were thrown in… I was shocked that my name [appeared] … This is what social media does. It’s just basically a massive fountain of sewage, and someone needs to put a cap on it.”
Radio host Nicky Campbell also voiced dismay at being linked with The...
