Daniel Cudmore first portrayed Colossus in 2003's X2: X-Men United but the role has since been passed off to Andre Tricoteux/Stefan Kapičić in 2016's Deadpool. Is Cudmore playing a new character?...

The latest snaps from the set of Deadpool 2 might just tease an appearance from a famous X-Men universe villain. The scoop comes to us from Omega Underground, who’ve compiled evidence suggesting that Juggernaut could be returning to the franchise for the first time since 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.
Ou has acquired two photos of an as-yet unnamed stunt performer in a motion capture suit while filming in Vancouver. The second image, specifically, also features the performer with a rig, much like the one used to increase the height of Colossus stand-in Andre Tricoteux in the first movie.

Doomsday in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman has been confirmed. Voice and Motion Capture actor Robin Atkin Downes plays the mythological Kryptonian bogeyman in Dawn of Justice. In all likelihood Doomsday will probably be a VFX creation requiring several individuals to bring him to life; similar to how Andre Tricoteux provided the motion capture for Colossus on Deadpool while Stefan Kapicic provided the voice. Given Downes' prior work history, it's currently unclear whether Downes provided the voice, motion capture or both. Michael Shannon previously disclosed that he returned to film scenes as General Zod's cadaver, however, it's currently unknown how much Shannon's contribution to the film factors into Zod's presumable transformation into Doomsday. Will the raging beast speak and have intelligence? Or will he just roar? Very proud to release that I helped bring #Doomsday to life in the upcoming @BatmanvSuperman #Dreamgigs — Robin Atkin Downes (@Robin_A_Downes) February...

"Nobody's gettin' hurt!" Fox has debuted another ridiculous new TV spot for Tim Miller's Deadpool movie, adapted from the Marvel comic book character. There's a tiny bit of new footage – they're billing this as the hot new TV spot with a "Round House Kick"! – but this is also excellent because of the absurd bookends with Deadpool and the roses. They must've cut this for some Valentine's Day promo or something. Ryan Reynolds plays the Merc with a Mouth, joined by a cast including Morena Baccarin as Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Ed Skrein as Ajax, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, + Andre Tricoteux as Colossus. I'm still looking forward to this! Looks like crazy fun. Here's the new "Round House Kick" TV spot for Tim Miller's Deadpool movie, direct from Fox's YouTube: For more updates on Fox's Deadpool, follow @deadpoolmovie. With great power comes great irresponsibility. As promised, Fox has unveiled the second full-length trailer for the Deadpool movie on Christmas Day, after counting down the 12 Days of Deadpool on social media. Ryan Reynolds stars as the infamous Merc with a Mouth, who joins up with some other superheroes in this R-rated comic book movie. This trailer is just as vulgar, violent and crass as the first one, but with more polished VFX and some action with Colossus. In addition to Reynolds, this also stars Morena Baccarin as Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Ed Skrein as Ajax, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Andre Tricoteux as Colossus. This looks like so much despicable fun. The new trailer for 20th Century Fox's "Deadpool" hits tomorrow, but ahead of that Fox has continued teasing the film with new promos and a feature piece discussing the role of "X-Men" character Colossus in the project.
EW has confirmed that Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic will provide the voice for Colossus in the Tim Miller-directed film, a character which stuntman Andre Tricoteux performed on the set. Speaking about the portrayal, Kapicic confirmed that he has used the character's traditional Russian accent:
"Tim Miller's idea of Colossus was to be bigger and stronger than everyone else. So for the motion capture they needed an extremely tall man. I'm 6-foot-4, but he wanted Colossus to be over 7 feet, so they used a stunt double to recreate his height, and he did very good job there.

The first TV spot for Deadpool has been released! It's called "Super" it features some great new footage from the film along with some funny snarky dialogue from the Merc With a Mouth. I've also included two new photos have been released from Tim Miller's upcoming Deadpool, and they both feature Colossus. The images come from EW, who confirms that Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic will be providing the voice for the character, who was physically portrayed in the movie by stuntman Andre Tricoteux.
Fans seemed really happy with what they saw of the character in the first trailer for the film. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of it in the upcoming trailer coming on Christmas day. Kapicic talked about this new version of Colossus, saying:
“Tim Miller’s idea of Colossus was to be bigger and stronger than everyone else. So for the motion capture they needed an extremely tall man.

For most of 2015, fans were under the impression Andre Tricoteux was playing Colossus in Deadpool, but that’s no longer the case. It was revealed today that the steel-skinned mutant will now be voiced and partly played in motion capture by Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic. Last minute replacements like these don’t often happen, and in Kapicic’s case, he went through a hectic audition process to join the 2016 blockbuster after much of it had already been completed. Having only completed his Colossus performance earlier this month, Kapicic explained to EW how Deadpool’s top-secret nature made it so he didn’t know what he was auditioning for at first, only figuring it out after multiple rounds of reads. Kapicic elaborated: I ended up with 120 takes on my third call of auditions. I worked at Fox studios with [director] Tim Miller for the last part ...

Colossus isn't making his big screen debut in Deadpool, but it kind of feels that way. After all, the practically mute version we've seen up until this point has been underwhelming to say the least, and as the official images below prove, this new take on the X-Men character looks set to be the closest to the comics yet. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic - who has taken over the role from Andre Tricoteux - had this to say about his version of Colossus. Gina Carano plays a villainous character named Angel Dust in director Tim Miller’s upcoming movie, Deadpool. Until now we really didn’t know much about this character, but in an interview with ScreenRant she talks about the character and how her strength is fueled by her rage. She also talks about what it was like fighting Colossus in the film, who was played by Andre Tricoteux. In regards to how she prepared for the character and what her character is like, she said:
"[Angel Dust] is… well, when I talked to Tim [Miller] about getting the job, I did a little bit of research and there wasn’t as much on this character, so it gave me some room to play with it. So this is actually my first look (talking about her current, normal hair style). My second look is much more extreme. It’s, I don’t know, a year to five years after,...

Although she’s one of the principal players in Deadpool, we didn’t see much of Gina Carano as Angel Dust in the movie’s first trailer. Her only moment to shine was when she punched Wade Wilson in the face after he called her the “less angry Rosie O’Donnell.” Despite her short screen time in the preview, Carano is going to have quite a bit to do in Deadpool, and this includes fighting longtime X-Men member Colossus, played by Andre Tricoteux. This is apparenlty going to be one hell of a brutal clash, too. As she explained to Screen Rant: It’s a lot different than most of the fight scenes, and the physicality that I’ve had before. I’ve never done anything with CGI, let alone I’ve never done anything with a 6’8” man ...

Things still aren't clear regarding how Tim Miller's "Deadpool" film adaptation will fit into the larger "X-Men" screen universe, though one element within the film that's definitely crossing over is the character of Colossus.
Played by Daniel Cudmore in the previous "X-Men" films, Andre Tricoteux now takes on the part for this film and tells Tech Times his part is more than just a simple cameo:
"I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is. I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus had been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him."
Asked if he'll have the character's classic accent in the film, he offers:

"I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is. I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus had been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him."
Asked if he'll have the character's classic accent in the film, he offers:

It was exciting for X-Men fans to learn that Colossus would be in Ryan Reynolds' long awaited Deadpool movie. Until now, we had no idea how big of a role he would have in the story. Thanks to Andre Tricoteux, who is the motion capture actor who plays the character, we've learned that this movie will dive deeper into the character than any other X-Men film that has been made before.
During an interview with Tech Times, Tricoteux revealed:

Despite portraying the character across numerous installments in Fox’s X-Men series, Daniel Cudmore opted to forego a role in the studio’s R-rated rendition of Deadpool as Piotr “Peter” Nikolaievitch Rasputin.
Many fans were taken aback by the casting changeover, though it wasn’t long before Fox instated Russian actor Andre Tricoteux took his place as the steely mutant, and the newcomer recently divulged some juicy details regarding the role in an interview with Tech Times.

Though many believed the Colossus we see in Deadpool will act as a departure from the character’s comic book origins, Tricoteux stated that what we see on the silver screen in 2016 will be “very true to the original character,” while also praising Tim Miller’s vision for the movie.

The Russian mutant known as Colossus, or Piotr Rasputin, has been portrayed by Daniel Cudmore in three X-Men movies over the course of twelve years, but the character will be played by someone new when he mutates into his metallic form next year in Deadpool. While promoting his recurring role on iZombie, Russian actor and stunt performer Andre Tricoteux talked for the first time about portraying Colossus opposite Ryan Reynolds, how his version of the mutant will compare to the previous, and why people will be shocked by some of the R-rated dialogue, among other things. "The Colossus you're going to see in Deadpool is very true to the original character in the comic book," said Tricoteux during a Tech Times Q&A. "[Director] Tim Miller had a really clear vision, and the Deadpool people had a really clear vision of what they wanted. They wanted Colossus to be very traditional...

Hello again, dear readers, and I hope you all avoided Fantastic Four like the plague this past weekend. On that topic, this is three weeks in a row that I’ve covered a comic book movie here on Trailer Trashin’. Now let’s dive into the new red band trailer for Deadpool.
Premise: In an attempt to cure his terminal cancer, former special forces operative Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, disfigured skin, and a dark and twisted sense of humor. Armed with new abilities and a new identity as “Deadpool,” Wilson hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Note: This is a red band trailer, which means it can only play in theaters with R-rated movies, and therefore is not appropriate for those under the age of seventeen. This trailer contains tons of violence, plenty of blood and gore,...

Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool is the film we never thought we'd see. 20th Century Fox kept the X-Men spinoff in limbo for years, and after his less than auspicious on-screen debut (more on that below), things didn't look good for Marvel Comics' 'Merc with a Mouth'.
More fool us. And when the first trailer debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, it was so well received that they played it twice.
Guess where I'm hiding the chimichanga, and win!

Everything we know so far about Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds sprays blood, bullets and wise-cracks in the first trailer for Deadpool, which debuted today in all its Nsfw glory. Rebooting the character after the *ahem* misstep of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wade Wilson is now well and truly living up to his Merc with a Mouth moniker.
The red costume and one-liners are out in full force, and there's plenty more to dig into if you're a fan of Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld's comic creation. We pick out some of the best Easter eggs from the Deadpool trailer below...
1. Call-backs galore to That test footage
"You may be wondering why the red suit. Well that's so bad guys can't see me bleed. This guy's got the right idea, he wore the brown pants."

Of all the projects featured during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, one that had the most positive buzz was Tim Miller’s Deadpool. The long-gestating project just recently wrapped filming, but Miller and star Ryan Reynolds came to the 20th Century Fox Hall H panel prepared nonetheless, and showed off three minutes of footage from the film that was met with quite a bit of excitement from attendees.
That footage leaked online shortly thereafter, but Fox has yet to follow Warner Brothers’ lead and release the official version online. According to the Merc with the Mouth himself, though, there’s a very specific reason for that.
Reynolds took to Twitter yesterday to assure fans that an official version will arrive in three weeks’ time, due to the fact that some visual effects work still needs perfecting:
As much as I want the #deadpool footage from #Sdcc officially released, the VFX shots aren't done yet.

If you didn’t attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, that means you missed out on all the cool new trailers for tomorrow’s hottest cinematic properties (mostly from DC Comics this year). This also means you’re probably searching YouTube for leaked versions of all the awesomeness you didn’t get to experience yourself, squinting intently just to make out every blurry detail some dude’s iPhone couldn’t capture.
Well, if that’s a case, here’s another leaked trailer worth your strained vision!
The cast and crew of Deadpool took to San Diego this year to promote their upcoming superhero flick, and brought a Badass first trailer that hit the West Coast so hard, tremors could be felt up and down California (unconfirmed). Yesterday, we were treated to the very first official still image from Fox’s upcoming Deadpool film, and now two new photos have been released, courtesy of EW and Empire. One of them features a perfect recreation of a scene from the initial leaked test footage, while the other shows us our first official look at newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as the Merc with the Mouth’s mutant pal, Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
In the comics, Negasonic is the code name of Ellie Phimister, who has the powers of telepathy and precognition. She’s a former student of Emma Frost, who was played by January Jones in X-Men: First Class. Considering the time gap and the fact that Frost appears to have been killed between the events of First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, that little detail will likely be changed.
