“Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert” was one of the many winners on day two of the Creative Arts Emmys Sunday, taking the award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), which resulted in its producers John Legend, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber getting the final trophy needed to become Egot members.
The trio, who now are among the few performers who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony, celebrated the five Emmy wins in total for “Superstar” over the two-day award ceremony that honors the best and the brightest in reality television, variety series and nonfiction programming, among others.
Other standout moments included three awards for “Queer Eye” (a reboot after being away for 11 years) and six posthumous trophies for Anthony Bourdain and his CNN show “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.”

Eyelashes and body makeup and wigs, oh my!
The hair and makeup departments on fast-moving television shows often turn around dozens of looks in a week and create new ones at a moment’s notice. Depending on the show, it doesn’t always have to be beautiful, but it sure has to look good on camera.

The women’s figure skating event kicks off today in Sochi, but rather than watch taped highlights of the short program on NBC tonight, Logo has a far better offer for you!
In case you didn’t know, this month marks the 20th anniversary of the infamous Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding Olympic scandal. To commemorate that glorious moment in pop culture hitstory, tonight at 9pm Et/Pt Logo premieres Ice Queens, a comedic short film/mini-series that pays homage to and parodies the scandal (and subsequent TV movies). And who better to portray Tonya, Nancy and all the other zany characters than your favorite drag queens from past seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race!
Willam is Tonya Harding! Yara Sofia is Nancy Kerrigan! Colby Melvin is Jeff Gillooly! Delta Work is a skating investigator or something.
And in a network first, Logo will be launching the film simultaneously across television,...

This month marks the 20th anniversary of an icy showdown for the ages — the Olympic face-off between Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding after Harding’s then-husband hired a goon to take out Kerrigan’s knee in the weeks before the Lillehammer Games. Kerrigan quickly recovered and snapped up a silver medal, and Harding was knocked off the podium by a broken shoelace (or karma… depends who you ask). Flash to the present: As ladies’ singles figure skating competition kicks off at the Sochi Games, Logo TV is launching a cross-platform mini-series called “Ice Queens” to commemorate the “Whack Heard ‘Round...

RuPaul crowned Raja America’s Next Drag Superstar one week ago, and last night found Ru bringing the season’s 13 queens back together for the requisite reunion. “Tonight on RuPaul’s Drag Race: Reunited!” our palatable host thundered at the beginning of the episode, “our 13 drag warriors return to battle it out, set the record straight, and let each other have it.” Or to get more to the point, Ru added: “The Drag Race may be over, but the real drama is just getting started.” It was an often funny, not-too-heated hour that found the queens bringing some realness...

Who knew that our readers would be so divided over Season 3's winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race"? Admittedly, celebrity makeup artist, Raja, made herself hard to ignore. She brought a new look and edge to the competition, might have rubbed a few girls the wrong way, and was the unofficial leader of the workroom mean girls, the "Heathers."
Zap2it had a chance to catch up with Raja the day after her crowning was televised and judging from your comments from our finale post, there was a lot to ask her about.
Among other topics, Raja tackles the critics who didn't appreciate her brand of drag, explains her history with RuPaul before the show, and answers to the accusations that the "Heathers" acted like a bunch of bullies.
What was the most challenging part of the competition?I think the most challenging part for me was just topping myself constantly.

At the end of last week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Ru announced that she was giving the judges a chance to bring back queens that they felt had been axed too soon, so I ran a poll in my post about the episode, asking: “Which queen should return to RuPaul’s Drag Race next week?”
When I last checked the results, Shangela (33 percent), Delta Work (26 percent), and Mariah (12 percent) were leading the way. And somehow, Carmen wasn’t a option in the poll (sorry, maybe that was a subliminal mistake that adds up to who I didn’t want to see back?...

Oh, ‘fro she didn’t!!!! Manila pumped up the volume, and all the queens got their frocks off in this week’s music RuPaul-a-palooza challenge. And somebody’s boots were made for streetwalking…
A wise old lady once said “Music makes the people come together…” Okay, that was Madonna. But was she watching last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race? (Actually, Madge probably has the show re-enacted live in her own London rec room each week, but recast by famous thespians. I’m totally feeling Judi Dench as Delta Work.) Nonetheless, this week the queens mounted their own South-By-South-Tressed music festival, as they all had to become American Idols and sing live and to a song they recorded.
Along the way, the contestants strapped on their heels for a game of Ru-sical chairs, which was probably the easiest mini-challenge ever; these bitches have clearly been toddling in pumps since pre-k.

It’s been about a month or so since I wrote about season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, a zany, deliciously campy bit of reality goodness that is one of the highlights of my TV week. In said piece, I gave some thoughts on the remaining contestants and a few predictions over who I thought would leave and when. I figured since we’re getting down to the nitty gritty, as tonight will leave us with a final five, it might be time to revisit my thoughts and see how they’re working out.
I’ve been mostly right about the elimination order, which was a nice surprise. In the first episode after I published, the gorgeous Mariah flubbed her impersonation of Joan Crawford during an already underwhelming episode of Snatch Game and then couldn’t remember a word to Jody Watley’s “Lookin’ For a New Love” (c’mon,...

Sofia Vergara tweeted the above pic, which has Jesse Tyler Ferguson in a ... sailor suit. I'm assuming it's a scene from Modern Family. Glee is under fire for using the song "Do You Wanna Touch Me" on this week's episode. The song was written by convicted pedophile Gary Glitter, who will receive royalties. Yes, the song was made famous by Joan Jett, but you can't complain (as so many of you insisted on doing) that people credited the wrong artist for "Landslide" and then overlook the original composer of this song. Creepy old ick Larry King took a shot at Anderson Cooper during last night's roast of Donald Trump, which airs next Tuesday on Comedy Central. I'm sure you'll all want to watch.

Monday night on RuPaul’s Drag Race, the queens brought out their best stand-up routines. Shangela reigned triumphant by concocting a character that blended pimp and ho into one delectably raucous package. (“They say, ‘Laqueefa, where your ho’s at?’ I say, ‘B****, don’t you see I’m wearing four pair of hose right here holding back my [bleep]?!’”) Manila Luzon fell flat by digging in the mothballs for some jokes about the gay subtext of PBS’ children’s programming. But it was Delta Work who was (rightfully) sent packing after making some thuddingly awful rape jokes that produced the...

When RuPaul brought last season’s first cast-off, Shangela Laquifa Wadley, back into the Drag Race fold in this season’s premiere episode, no one, least of all me, had too high of hopes for the queen. There was a collective “why” from the Drag Race-watching community. We’d seen the woefully under-prepared Shangela peter out and generally be annoying last season — and as I just mentioned, she managed to squash any goodwill she had in just one measly episode.
But somewhere during the current season, surprisingly, Shangela turned into a drag force to be reckoned with. That infectiousness...

The most hilarious things transpire on fashion-centric reality shows when the word “couture” enters the competitive mix. The main challenge on night’s edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race is the perfect example of the craziness the word inspires: The queens were solicited to create a couture, one-of-a-kind runway look based on one of eight different cakes, including pineapple upside down cake, chocolate lava cake, princess cake, and so on. Truly, it’s a genius test, seeing as how ridiculously over-the-top pastries should provide the ample inspiration for just as over-the-top — and thus couture — fashions on the runway.

Last year on RuPaul’s Drag Race, one of the best episodes of the season was when Ru introduced The Snatch Game, a riff on the ’70s and ’80s staple The Match Game. You fans likely remember, but the episode very memorably saw queens like EW fave Pandora Boxx imitate Carol Channing and Tatianna take on Britney Spears. Last night was this year’s edition, and we saw Shangela take on Tina Turner, Delta Work do Cher (kinda poorly), Manila Luzon put on her best Imelda Marcos, Raja channel her inner Tyra Banks, and so on.

Things are getting real heavy on RuPaul’s Drag Race this season. And that’s mostly because, so far, the show has mostly focused on its three delightful big-girl contestants: Mimi Imfurst, Delta Work, and Stacy Layne Matthews. Not that I’m complaining—at all. That’s certainly been a very good thing. And while the headline to this mini recap of last night’s episode might lead you to believe that a big girl won the competition, those of you who watched know that’s certainly not the case. In fact, not only did a big girl not win the competition,...
