With five hours of airtime to fill, CBS’ Nashville-based New Year’s Eve special has to book a significant amount of the stars of country music, and many of those names were announced in a talent rollout Wednesday morning — including the genre’s blockbuster artist of the moment, Morgan Wallen.

Cody Alan is engaged!
The Cmt host proposed to his boyfriend, Trea Smith, in September while on vacation at a Sandals resort in Jamaica, he tells People exclusively.
“I’d been carrying around the ring for a few months and almost popped the question on several different occasions, but I waited,” says Alan, 44, who knew the time right during a candlelit dinner on the beach with his beau, 25.
“With waves softly breaking around us and a gorgeous bright moon hanging overhead, we felt like we were on an episode of The Bachelor!” the country personality says, recounting the proposal story.

It's official: Nashville will return for a fifth season — on Hulu and Cmt. Thanks to a unique deal, Hulu will retain streaming rights and Cmt will be the new on-air home for the country music drama. The stars of the series, led by Charles Esten (Deacon) with Cmt host Cody Alan, will celebrate the news with a concert in Nashville later Friday.
