Daniel Shulkin
- Editorial Department
- Producer
- Cinematographer
Growing up in the suburbs just outside Toronto, Daniel Shulkin has
always maintained a passion for movies and filmmaking. Starting at an
early age, he began to experiment with movie-making techniques and
editing fundamentals on old tape deck editors at summer camp. As the
years went on, he continued to pursue his passion for storytelling
through video projects and written narratives. Throughout his high
school years, he maintained a keen interest in improving his skills in
communications technologies and creative writing, including work in
graphic design, audio production, and video production. In the years
that followed, Shulkin found employment at the local Cineplex, becoming
a projectionist and learning valuable information about the mechanics
of film and the complex mainstream Hollywood distribution process. Once
he began focusing exclusively on film production, he created the
distributor label Jebus Films in 2007 as the official banner for his
future film releases. As well as creating short films and videos for
assignments, Daniel spent his last two years in secondary school
working with frequent collaborator Ryan Ng to make two feature-length
films, which were shot simultaneously ("Austistic" and "The Number 24")
and were both released under the Jebus Films label in 2009. With his
past projects receiving positive reviews, he is continuing to hone his
skills in writing, directing, editing, and cinematography as he is in
the process of completing his Bachelor's degree in film studies.
As of 2011, Daniel Shulkin is working on developing several short film projects that will be in production in the coming months.
