Alamo Drafthouse will be celebrating 1982's summer of movies, which is considered one of the greatest summer of movies ever. They will be screening several of these films at their legendary theaters this summer.
A list of these films include, Conan the Barbarian, The Thing, Poltergeist, The Road Warrior, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Tron, The Dark Crystal, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Vice Squad, The Secret of Nimh, Friday the 13th Part 3, Q: The Winged Serpent, Pink Floyd: The Wall and more.
Thanks to our friends at /Film we have a look at the poster art created for Steven Spielberg's E.T. The poster was wonderfully created by artist Dan McCarthy. It will go on sale at the screening on June 8th. If there are any left over from the screening, they will put them up for sale online. Just make sure to follow @MondoNews for details.

Add another amazing license to Mondo's growing list of conquests. The poster boutique of the Alamo Drafthouse has made official posters for Star Wars, Star Trek, Pixar, Disney, Jurassic Park and Wednesday they announced a partnership with DC Comics to start producing posters for films and comics. Yes, DC. As in Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman. The first poster, Fortress of Solitude, is by rising artist Jc Richard (whose Jurassic Park poster [1] by Mondo might be their best yet) and will be released on Black Friday. Actor Paddy Considine's first feature as a director is Tyrannosaur, which features the always reliable, often impressive character actor Peter Mullan as a violent, self-destructive alcoholic who strikes up a friendship with Hannah (Olivia Colman, of Hot Fuzz), a Christian charity-shop worker. Considine adapted the feature from his previous short Dog Altogether, and has said that “mainly [Tyrannosaur is] about my interpretation of life, and trying to function as a human.” The film got outstanding reviews [1] at Sundance early this year, and is set to play Tiff next month. Now there is an absolutely outstanding trailer that shows off the film's grit, and suggests that Considine's impression of life is a vision of harrowing experience. Eddie Marsan looks a bit wild and intimidating -- his first appearance in the trailer is a killer -- but goddamn, look at Peter Mullan. Every moment he's in, he's on, 100%.
