Few actors have conquered television like Michael Emerson has done with his starring roles on TV shows. Although a character actor, Emerson’s performance is always so captivating that he always leaves an impression on audiences, irrespective of his screen time. Also, over the years, he has built a reputation for playing creepy characters. While most actors consider having an acting career at an early age, Michael Emerson began his professional acting career at age 32. Emerson appeared in his first screen role at age 36. Yet, three decades later, he’s one of the finest actors of his generation. Although he

The Cannes Film Festival officially kicks off today with the latest from Quentin Dupieux, but Francis Ford Coppola has decided to truly begin the festivities with a bang. After a brief, enticing tease earlier this month, he’s now debuted the epic first trailer for Megalopolis, chock full of jaw-dropping images that has us counting down the hours until Thursday’s world premiere. “Our new film Megalopolis is the best work I’ve ever had the privilege to preside over,” notes Coppola with the trailer.
Along with French distribution from Le Pacte, the film was also picked up by Constantin Film for Germany and all German-speaking territories, including Switzerland and Austria; Eagle Pictures for Italy; Tripictures for Spain; and Entertainment Film Distributors Limited for the U.K., per Deadline. A U.S. deal has yet to be announced, but here’s hoping it comes during the festival.

I’ve predicted Megalopolis, anticipated as it is, will have a clear dividing point: the cultural commentariat hoping to see “another film by the director of The Godfather” and those who appreciate “something that looks and sounds like a Star Wars prequel.” I am very firmly in the latter, was duly excited by the first image, and can only be pleased with the time-stopping debut teaser, arriving today via Le Pacte.
It comes with a sad addenedum. Coppola, sharing the teaser on Instagram, noted:
Megalopolis has always been a film dedicated to my dear wife Eleanor. I really had hoped to celebrate her birthday together this May 4th. But sadly that was not to be, so let me share with everyone a gift on her behalf.
As Coppola recently told Vanity Fair, “I wouldn’t have been able to make it without standing as I do on the shoulders of G.B. Shaw,...

The farmers have a big decision ahead of them. After weeks of tough choices about which women to send home (and some surprising self-eliminations), the four stars of Fox’s Farmer Wants a Wife are down to their final two daters. Who will they choose? Here are the women who are still in the running heading into the show’s May 9 season finale, plus some predictions about who each guy might choose.
Farmer Nathan: Taylor and Allye Taylor and Nathan | ©2024 Fox Media LLC
Nathan, 23, is a fourth-generation citrus farmer and rancher from Florida. He’s the youngest of this season’s four farmers and is faced with choosing between Allye, 25, a digital marketing specialist from Tuscon, and Taylor, 25, a hairstylist from Dallas. Nathan visited Allye’s family in the April 25 episode of Farmer Wants a Wife. He’ll get to know Taylor’s family this week.

Now that Francis Ford Coppola has unveiled his long-in-the-works epic Megalopolis to buyers and the industry, we’re just a few weeks away from its official premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. As he hopefully secures U.S. distribution soon, the first look has finally arrived.
Featuring Adam Driver and Nathalie Emmanuel towering above the metropolis, the first image comes courtesy from Vanity Fair, who also share a few new quotes from Coppola himself. “My first goal always is to make a film with all my heart, so I began to realize it would be about love and loyalty in every aspect of human life,” said the director. “Megalopolis echoed these sentiments, in which love was expressed in almost crystalline complexity, our planet in danger and our human family almost in an act of suicide, until becoming a very optimistic film that has faith in the human being to possess...

Reba may have been right all along. The bartender from Spearfish, South Dakota, went home early on in season 2 of Fox’s reality dating series Farmer Wants a Wife. But before she left Brandon’s farm, she had some blunt words for Joy, one of his other daters.
Reba called Joy from ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ ‘inauthentic’
In a memorable moment from the show’s Feb. 15 episode, Reba called out Joy, one of her rivals for Brandon’s affections, for being “inauthentic.” (One of Reba’s complaints about Joy? She smiled too much.)
“Like come on, like you think you’re genuine?” Reba asked Joy, who had just told Brandon that she considered herself “very sweet.”
“Like, I just can’t stand inauthenticity,” Reba said.
Reba’s dislike of Joy was so strong that she eventually decided to self-eliminate. After watching Joy “[shove] herself down his throat all the time” and...

When Joy Mayfield seemed to be shut down after Brandon Rogers opened up to her, it was a red flag for him. However, a recent conversation between the two may have made Joy a frontrunner in Farmer Wants A Wife. Continue reading to see what she said that made Brandon Rogers change his mind (and potentially even propose).
Joy Lands The Final Solo Date With Brandon
Joy lacked empathy when Brandon opened up and revealed some things about himself. As a result, he was considering sending her home, but the discussion they had wound up bringing them even closer together.
In the April 11 episode of Farmer Wants A Wife, Joy told Brandon that she seems detached and callous at times due to a medical condition. She shared that she was diagnosed with epilepsy as a child and has gone through a lot in relation to her health and managing medication.

Currently, Farmer Wants A Wife Season 2 is moving right along. Each of the farmers took their ladies to meet the parents, family, and trusted friends this week. Furthermore, the last solo dates are lined up for the next episode. But an eagle-eyed fan caught something that seems to give away who Brandon Rogers picks in the end.
Farmer Wants A Wife Process Can Be Difficult
Although Farmer Wants A Wife gives four different farmers the chance to possibly score a wife, the process can be a bit grueling for them. While there are fun times with the women learning about farm life and their man, it can prove to be difficult for the guys to date multiple women at once. Additionally, this season, the Cowboys had the option to bring in a new girl midway through the process. In most cases, when the farmer brought in a new lady, it...

This article contains casting spoilers for all eight episodes of Fallout.
The Fallout gaming franchise presents a big storytelling universe to play in. And that’s exactly what drew showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner to the Prime Video TV adaptation in the first place.
“It’s more creatively interesting to be able to build our own story in the world that they’ve carved out for us,” Wagner told Den of Geek. “That’s historically been the trajectory of Fallout. It’s traded hands many times, with different creative teams taking it over. It’s kept it fresh, kept it relevant. We chose to just vainly look at this as our Fallout.”
Of course, a big storytelling universe also requires a big cast to fill it up. Prime Video’s Fallout isn’t wanting for compelling lead characters thanks to Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul...

The Prime Video TV series adaptation of the popular Fallout video game franchise won’t begin streaming until April 12th, but season 2 of the show is already moving forward. While the first season was primarily filmed in New York (with some filming also taking place in Utah), Variety reports that the production will be moving to California for the next sequel. That’s not to take advantage of filming locations there, but rather to get a tax break. The California Film Commission just awarded $152 million in tax incentives to a dozen different TV shows, and Fallout is on the list. For filming the next season in California, the show will receive $25 million in California tax credits.
The budget for the show is quite large, as Variety notes that it has $153 million in qualified expenditures for the season.

Twisted engravings from Dante’s “Inferno,” mummified bodies from Mexico, and a phenomenon where rats’ tails get entangled and they thrash and flail and maul each other until they die: These may not be a few of your favorite things but they are a few of “True Detective: Night Country” showrunner Issa López’s key influences for the extremely cold case detective Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) has to solve.
Dubbed “The Corpsicle” as far back as the scriptwriting, López knew that the snarl of naked bodies — once the scientists at Tsalal research station before they, somehow, all wound up (mostly) underneath the ice — would not only be another entry in the “True Detective” pantheon of grotesque murder tableaus, but it would visually cement the tone for Season 4’s blend of crime procedural, alienation from nature, and the looming dark of something supernatural. Every April growing up in East Texas, Vincent Neil Emerson and his family traveled to Louisiana for their tribe’s annual powwow. For that one weekend of the year, the future singer-songwriter was immersed in the culture of his mother’s people, the Choctaw-Apache. He was dazzled by the spectacle of the dances, the drums and song, which were performed, at times, in traditional regalia, jewelry, and beadwork.
Those memories were seared into his mind.

"You got a gift, you gotta use it, I believe in you boys." Roadside Attractions has revealed an official trailer for an indie biopic titled Dreamin' Wild, based on the true story of the Emerson Brothers. Some of you may know them? This actually premiered at the 2022 Venice Film Festival last year, but it didn't make much of a splash and the reviews weren't that great. What if a childhood dream suddenly came true—but thirty years later? That’s what happened to singer/songwriter Donnie Emerson. His dream of success suddenly—and unexpectedly—came true but only as he approached 50 years old. And while it brought hopes of second chances, it also brought ghosts of the past and long-buried emotions as Donnie, his brother Joe and their entire family came to terms with their newly found fame. JoAnna Garcia Swisher knows motherhood is a balancing act. "I struggle with it just as much as every mom does. I mean, we're pulled in so many different directions," she tells Popsugar. Still, she wants all moms to know that they should give themselves credit where credit is due.
"We're multitasking to the supreme, so I think it's so important to really just give yourself a little grace and to know that we can't do everything every day," she says. "As hard as it may seem when you're in the heat of the moment, even stepping away for just a few minutes is so important."
Swisher certainly has a lot going on. She serves as the host of Netflix's "The Ultimatum: Queer Love," a spinoff of "The Ultimatum" that focuses on queer couples exclusively, and stars in "Sweet Magnolias," which is set to release its third season in July.

The “Will & Grace” reboot’s political focus almost cost the hit NBC sitcom its syndication rights, co-creator Max Mutchnick revealed during a 25th anniversary panel discussion at the Paley Center for Media on Monday night.
“What was built into the architecture of the show was that we had Karen who was obviously going to be a Trump supporter. And it’s like, ‘Oh, this will be such a good, fertile place to write.’ And we shot this thing and I sent it to our lawyer and he said, ‘Just get ready to lose all of your syndication,'” Mutchnick said. “There’s a thing that if you change the essence of the show, that it no longer stands for what it originally stood for, then you tamper with the possibility of its earning potential.”
He came up with the idea for the revival while on a trip to London with his husband.

A former Playboy model who was among the first women to come forward with rape allegations against Bill Cosby decades ago has filed a lawsuit against the comedian under a California law that extends the window to sue in sexual assault cases.
The suit from Victoria Valentino filed on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Cosby of raping her in 1969 may be the first in a series of suits in California against the 85-year-old, who’s facing an avalanche of similar civil litigation in New York. More accusers could sue utilizing the state law that gives them until the end of the year to sue regardless of how long ago the alleged assaults happened.
In a statement, Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt denied the allegations. He said it’s “deeply disturbing and disappointing” that the statute of limitations was lifted in “sheer violation of all American’s Constitutional Rights.
