Hgtv and Diy Network have greenlit seven new series, including “America's Most Desperate Kitchens,” featuring “Kitchen Cousins” hosts Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri. “Log Cabin Living,” also set to air on Hgtv, will follow couples leaving city living behind and searching for their perfect cabin in the woods. “The Shalina Joy Project” will follow a New Jersey teacher and house flipper as she renovates a Victorian mansion, and “Real Estate Riches” will follow real estate investor Daniel Wiafe and his wife Melinda as they purchase dilapidated homes, renovate them from top-to-bottom and flip them for resale. It’s the kitchen episode! Our six remaining designers meet up with mentor David Bromstad at a photo studio, where he introduces Hgtv Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Sara Peterson, who announces that the winning kitchen will be featured in an upcoming issue of Hgtv Magazine.
Sara tells them to be adventurous with color, because a colorful kitchen looks fantastic in photos. She further explains that “we want to be wowed by your styling tricks because finishing touches can make all the difference.” Stanley interviews that this is a sweet challenge because he’ll be able to put his artistic abilities to work.
