Sunny Hostin weighs in on former The View co-hosts who speak negatively about their experience on the show after they leave.
In a new interview, the former prosecutor shared her disappointment with former co-hosts who trash their time on the ABC morning show.
“I’m always surprised when people speak negatively about our show if I’m being honest,” Hostin told Us Weekly. “We’ve had 27 years, we’ve had, maybe 24 co-hosts, and you were part of a sisterhood, and it’s really special.”
Hostin said she still talks to Sherri Shepherd, Paula Faris, and Candace Cameron Bure, who recently appeared on the show and sent her wine from her vineyard.
“We are all close regardless of our personal views,” she added. “We leave all of that at the table. I’m always surprised when someone says, ‘I don’t like that person,’ because it’s never personal, and we go into it knowing that.

The View’s Tuesday broadcast was one co-host short of a full panel.
At the top of the hour, just Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin sat at the show’s Hot Topics table, with Sara Haines clearly M.I.A. (She did, however, appear on Monday’s installment.) So why was Haines absent from the show? Goldberg answered that question at the top of the second segment.

Whoopi Goldberg called out her own employer on Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” warning them about their treatment of working mothers at the company. According to the host, ABC’s “gotta pay more attention to the mothers.”
Goldberg’s comments came toward the end of the show, during the appearance of Paula Faris, the show’s final guest and, ironically, a former co-host. Faris was promoting her new book, “You Don’t Have to Carry It All,” which “reveals a game plan that will not only make being a working mom ‘work’ but will also reveal how and why society needs to value mothers first.”
During the discussion, host Alyssa Farah Griffin mentioned her admiration of Faris’ point in the book that companies will face retention and hiring issues if they don’t support working mothers, and wondered if that message is “breaking through” with companies.

Sara Haines will be returning to “The View” in September as a co-host for Season 24 of the ABC daytime talk show, Variety has learned.
Haines, 42, is no stranger to the Hot Topics table. She served as a “View” co-host for two seasons — from the fall of 2016 through the summer of 2018 — where she offered her takes on the headlines of the day, pop culture and celebrities. Prior to “The View,” Haines had served as a lifestyle anchor for “GMA Weekend.”
A representative at ABC declined to comment.
Haines will fill the seat at the table left by Abby Huntsman, who exited the show in January 2020.
In the last few months, Haines has filled in occasionally on “The View,” which has had its co-hosts – Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin – engaging in virtual debates from home due to the coronavirus.
Election years have always led to surges in viewership for “The View.

Don Lemon hosts two hours on CNN most weeknights – sometimes more. And in recent weeks, he has also been showing up on weekends. But he still has more to say.
The primetime anchor is today launching a new podcast that examines America’s racial divide. Episodes of “Silence Is Not An Option” will drop on Thursdays, and during them, Lemon will talk with activists, artists and thinkers. The debut features conversations with Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, an historian and scholar on race and discriminatory policy, and Dr. Christopher Petrella, the Director of Engagement at American University’s Antiracist Research and Policy Center, who also develops the curriculum for Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp – and, says Lemon, may offer an update on what the athlete is doing at the present moment.

In his 2014 book, “10% Happier,” Dan Harris recounts a time when he stepped on to the set of ABC’s “Good Morning America” to do his anchor job there, and began suffering from an intense panic attack while on camera. In 2019, he seems much more confident.
Harris, who has been with ABC News since 2000 and one of the co-anchors of “Nightline” since 2013, will step back from his role at the late-night news program, citing a desire to tend to a growing business that has sprouted up around that book, which touts the benefits of meditation. About two weeks after Sara Haines became the latest to pass through The Revolving Door of The View to host the third hour of Good Morning America with Michael Strahan, it appears Abby Huntsman has won the sweepstakes to replace her.
Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Huntsman, daughter of U.S. Ambassador to Russia Jon Hunstman, would give the show a second conservative host to keep Sen. John McCain’s daughter Meghan McCain company.
A Fox News Channel spokesperson confirmed this will be Huntsman’s final weekend co-hosting Fox & Friends Weekend, the Saturday and Sunday editions of President Donald Trump’s fave morning show.
A source familiar with the situation told Deadline that Huntsman is expected to land at The View, though no deal is done. Expect ABC News to announce shortly before the show’s new season starts, right after Labor Day holiday. The show’s annual eleventh-hour host-changeover announcement...

They’re getting it right at “The View.”
Abby Huntsman, who has worked at Fox News Channel as a general assignment reporter and co-host of the weekend edition of “Fox & Friends,” is expected to join the ABC daytime talk show, according to a person familiar with the situation. Huntsman, who is the daughter of Jon Huntsman, the U.S. Ambassador to Russia, would bolster the ranks of young Republicans around “The View’s” table, joining Meghan McCain.
ABC declined to make executives available for comment. Huntsman is expected to work her last stint on “Fox & Friends Weekend” this Saturday and Sunday, Fox News said in a statement.

The View is adding a second conservative voice: Welcome, Abby Huntsman. The 32-year-old is set to join the panel of the ABC daytime talk show, which has seen many cast shakeups over the years, and leave her job as a co-host of Fox News' Fox and Friends Weekend. Huntsman's casting comes on the heels of the departures of panelist Sara Haines and part-time co-star Paula Faris from The View. It seems hard to believe, but in the 21 years since its premiere, The View has had just as many co-hosts. And now the recently announced departures of Paula Faris and Sara Haines is shaking up the ABC daytime talk show again. "Everyone is stressed out," an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly of the behind-the-scenes atmosphere. "They're happy for Sara and Paula, but they're stressed out about who will replace them and if their jobs are safe." (Photo Credit: Getty Images) On July 18, Paula, 42, a co-host since 2015, announced she'd be leaving after "a rough year health-wise," in which she had a devastating miscarriage, to devote time to her family. She'll still report for ABC and launch a podcast on faith. On July 19, Whoopi Goldberg, 62, a co-host since 2007, had a contentious debate with guest Jeanine Pirro, a Fox News regular, which landed the show in the headlines. "The co-hosts were really worried for Whoopi,...

Someone grab us tissues! Just a few weeks after Sara Haines announced she'd be leaving The View to join a new show called Gma Day with Michael Strahan, the TV host appeared on her final episode of the talk show — and it was one emotional goodbye, that's for sure. During the tearful program on Thursday, Aug. 2, Whoopi Golberg introduced a video of Sara's most memorable moments on The View. "I knew this one was meant to sit at the table since the first time she guest hosted — co-hosted on The View — and we wanted to show you a couple reasons why this breakup is so hard," the actress shared before it began. The clip was a collection of Sara's most memorable moments on the show — from her joking around with her fellow co-hosts to opening up about postpartum depression, viewers couldn't help but cry with the 40-year-old after looking back on all the good times.

Earlier this week, Shepherd appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and proceeded to critique McCain, who is currently a co-host on ABC's The View alongside Joy Behar, Paula Faris, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and the soon-to-be departing Sara Haines. "She just has to evolve. She has to get used to sitting there at that table," said Shepherd, who stars in NBC's sitcom Trial & Error. Another fan asked, "Is Kelly Ripa really leaving the show?" to which their response was "no." Phew!
