Joshua Aaron Jones, Esq. is an attorney and writer, residing in
Pensacola, Florida, as well as a partner and general counsel to San Francisco based film production company, Thigh High Productions, LLC.
He holds a Bachelor in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Montevallo (2000), where he was honored with a Dean of Fine Arts scholarship and as the Senior Elite of his class in music education. While at Montevallo, he studied saxophone and oboe with Dr. Lori Ardovino.
Mr. Jones earned his Juris Doctor and a Master of Education Law at the University of New Hampshire School of Law (2003), while serving as a Diversity Scholar, and after six years of private practice, he returned to academia and was awarded a Master of Laws in Government and Public Policy at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2010). At McGeorge, Mr. Jones was honored to be appointed as the Downey Brand Fellow for Public Service and Leadership.
In addition to scholarly legal works, Jones has published short stories, including publications in The Legend, The Florida Writer, The Florida Writer's Association Collection #6, Chelsea Station Magazine, and former ezine Keep It Coming. He is a frequent guest writer for Pensacola Little Theater's 24 Hour Theater, and While at the University of Montevallo, Mr. Jones authored the books for two award-winning student musicals. He has been a contributor to several websites, including TheLawInsider.com.
Mr. Jones is active in the LGBT civil rights movement, having represented individuals suffering discrimination and several grass roots organizations in the Gulf Coast region. His law firm focuses primarily on family law, bankruptcy, student rights, non-profit start-up and management, and LGBT civil rights.
Jones is married to his partner of eighteen years, advertising executive, Wes Shoemaker.
