Bost was in the role for two and a half years, replacing Marcy Ross, who launched the television arm of David Ellison‘s film production and financing company.

‘Echoes’ Finale Ending Explained: Michelle Monaghan and Showrunner on Which Twin Appeared at the End
Spoiler alert! This postmortem dives into the finale of the Michelle Monaghan twisty twin drama “Echoes.”
Actress Michelle Monaghan had more than two roles on her hands in Netflix’s “Echoes” series, playing twins Leni and Gina. As the series played out on Netflix across seven episodes, viewers got to see Leni play Gina, and Gina play Leni, as the twins switched lives as a result of their intense bond that surpassed even the ones to their husbands — Leni’s Jack (Matt Bomer), and Gina’s Charlie (Daniel Sunjata) — and gave Monaghan a mammoth acting challenge.
Before we get into who turned up to Charlie’s book reading at the end, and who seemed to want to pick things up with him romantically in his house in those final moments — and TheWrap got those answers from executive producer and co-showrunner Brian Yorkey and Monaghan — let’s quickly recap: Leni and...

It’s also got a cast full of recognizable faces alongside new discoveries — and with an overlapping triple-timeline narrative about two twins constantly pretending to be each other, you might need help keeping track of the characters too.
For a complete (and spoiler-free) guide to the cast and characters in Netflix’s “Echoes,” read on.

Michelle Monaghan found herself pulling not just double duty playing twins Leni and Gina in Netflix’s twisty new mystery drama “Echoes,” but quadruple duty as she portrayed the women playing each other after they switched lives once a year.
The show, which is ready to become your next Netflix weekend binge, kicks off when Leni, who is living Gina’s life with Gina’s husband Charlie (Daniel Sunjata) in Los Angeles, gets a call from Leni’s true husband Jack (Matt Bomer), who tells her that Leni (who is actually Gina) is missing. And if all that sounds complicated, it was, but Monaghan worked to put in subtle details in her portrayals of the sisters.
“It was really, really important, obviously, to individuate these personas, these women,” Monaghan said. “They’re very, very different. I started really developing Leni from beginning to end, and then I developed Gina from beginning to end,...

It’s all too easy to understand the appeal of a show like “Echoes” to a streaming service like Netflix. From creator Vanessa Gazy and showrunners Quentin Peeples and Brian Yorkey (“13 Reasons Why”), “Echoes” feels like “Firefly Lane” and “Behind Her Eyes” collided to create a melodrama as deeply strange as it is quickly ingestible. Its seven episodes fly by fast enough to distract from the fact that they only barely make sense. It’s twisty, but repetitive, making sure every plot point gets several scenes to marinate. All the while, Michelle Monaghan throws herself into the challenge of portraying twins with the delirious freedom that the show’s hyperbolic framework allows. Once, “Echoes” might have been a made-for-tv movie; now, it’s a limited series built to set up camp in Netflix’s Top 10 until another version of the same (maybe Emily Deschanel’s upcoming “Devil in Ohio”?) knocks it out.

Enough time has passed that I don’t feel guilty revealing that Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige builds to a magical reveal that ties together the film’s themes about twins, doppelgängers and whatnot. Don’t worry, it’s more complicated than that, but the film (and its literary source material) understand that it’s better to convey key information in a fleeting shot likely to confuse much of the audience than to expend so much effort spelling things out that the magic vanishes entirely. Sure, there are entire shows dedicated to pulling back the curtain on the secrets of prestidigitation, but I’m going to wager that many (most?) viewers are more interested in being properly amazed.

The media's obsession with mysteries involving twins is showing no signs of slowing down, and Netflix's latest effort looks like a surefire hit.
Michelle Monaghan is pulling double duty on this one from co-showrunners Brian Yorkey (13 Reasons Why) and Quinton Peeples (Runaways).
Given the previous shows the creatives worked on, we're inclined to believe this will have twists and turns coming from all directions, and that's what we like best.
"Echoes is a mystery thriller about two identical twins, Leni and Gina, who share a dangerous secret," the spoilery synopsis reads.
"Since they were children, Leni and Gina have secretly swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults: they share two homes, two husbands, and a child but everything in their perfectly choreographed world is thrown into disarray when one of the sisters goes missing."
It certainly sounds similar to The CW's Ringer.

The Best Original Score prize is always one of the most coveted prizes at the Tony Awards. This year, the race is also one of the most competitive, pitting Michael R. Jackson’s music and lyrics for “A Strange Loop” against Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ work for “Six: The Musical.” In recent weeks, “A Strange Loop” has pulled ahead of “Six” in our combined odds as the clear frontrunner for Best Musical, so does that mean it has an edge in the contest for score as well? How often do the two awards go hand in hand?

Although it might seem intuitive that the show crowned Best Musical would also take the prize for Best Score, recent history shows how the awards often diverge. Since 2000, only 13 prize-winning shows have also won for their score, which...

In episode 8 of the fourth season of “13 Reasons Why,” the students of Liberty High engage in a dramatic and violent encounter with members of the on-campus police force, a scene that — amid protests against racism and police brutality that have erupted around the world in recent days — feels oddly familiar.
Of course, it’s not a timeliness that star Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay Jensen, could have anticipated when the Netflix show filmed last year.
“It was definitely a commentary on the same themes, on police brutality and racial discrimination,” says Minnette on “Variety Live!”
Season 4, which premiered earlier in June, ended on a bittersweet, even optimistic note. After grappling with the unexpected death of his adopted brother Justin, Clay drives off to college with his best friend Tony (played by Christian Navarro), a callback to one of the first scenes in Season 1.

The most drama-ridden high school is coming back for one last jaunt: Netflix has released the trailer for the fourth and final season of “13 Reasons Why,” which promises to finally let all of its secrets out.
The trailer for the upcoming season, which will premiere on Netflix on June 5, opens with series protagonist Clay (Dylan Minnette) walking into school, only to see the words “Monty was framed” spray-painted on a wall. It doesn’t appear that the tenuous peace the series’ remaining teens found during Season 3’s conclusion is going to last, given the trailer’s numerous violent shots and scenes of Clay’s distress — unsurprising, given the multitude of crimes he’s helped cover up over the last three seasons.
Here’s the fourth season’s synopsis, per Netflix: “As Liberty High School’s class prepares for graduation, they are forced to make life-changing and heartbreaking choices about...

13 Reasons Why Season 4 was made official by Netflix last September, setting up what will serve as the final season for the series.
After the series released its third season last year, it became clear that formerly controversial water cooler topic series 13 Reasons Why was running out of reasons to cite, thus putting a finish line firmly on the horizon. While the show typically runs 13 episodes, this final run will contain just 10. However, creator/showrunner/Ep Brian Yorkey remained onboard to see things through.

13 Reasons Why wrapped up the story from the book it's based on in season one. And then it came back for season two. And three. And now season four, which will be its last. Why did the show go beyond the Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) story? And why is it ending now? Series creator Brian Yorkey said the producers "were strongly driven by the very conceptual hook of the book in the first season, of this mystery and in unfolding the mystery, you get to delve into the secrets that every teenager keeps and the things that affect their life along the way." While he was interested in exploring that with a different set of characters, "we fell in love with these characters and wanted to know what happened...

Get ready to bust out your cassette tape player for a breath of nostalgia: The fourth and final season of “13 Reasons Why” will launch June 5, Netflix announced Monday.
In the final season, Liberty High School’s senior class is preparing for graduation, but of course before they can actually say goodbye to each other and their school, they will have to keep a dangerous secret buried, as well as face “heartbreaking choices” that may impact their futures forever.
The final season of the young adult drama that was originally based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same name will consist of 10 episodes. While the first season followed the plot of Asher’s book, centering on the titular tapes the teenager Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) sent to various classmates to explain her suicide, subsequent seasons thrust her friend Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) into the center of the story and...

Deadline has confirmed that the Seth Rogen/Point Grey Pictures comedy An American Pickle is heading to HBO Max. I’m informed that a release date for the movie is still Tbd even though the service is launching on May 27.
WarnerMedia has taken global rights to the feature which stars Rogen in dual roles from Sony. The Culver City studio was set to open the feature later this year, but they’ve moved a large number of pics on their feature slate to 2021. In the wake of exhibition’s shutdown out of safety for Covid-19, a number of smaller-mid sized films are segueing to streaming with theatrical distributors selling them off, i.e. Stx’s My Spy to Amazon, and Paramount/Mrc’s Lovebirds to Netflix.
