Started his career in the late 1940s as a booking agent with Music Corporation of America, then the largest talent agency in the world. He came to Los Angeles in the early 1960s to join General Artists Corp., then served as head of the personal appearance departments at Creative Management Associates and then ICM, which was formed in 1975 in a merger between CMA and International Famous Agency.
