Milla Jovovich has made quite a fun career out of starring in sci-fi action thrillers. She's got a new project in development called Hummingbird in which she will play an assassin. The script for the film was written by John McClain, and it must have been good because it was on the Black List of best-unproduced screenplays. But... Paul W.S. Anderson is rewriting the script, so I'm sure he'll manage to ruin a perfectly good script. Marcus Kryler and Fredrik Akerström will direct the film. The previously directed the cinematic content for the video game Battlefield I.
The film is said to be in the same vein of Lucy and the Bourne films. According to Deadline, "the story centers on a female assassin whose latest mark catapults her on a journey of shocking self-discovery."
Olivia Munn was previously attached to the project, but I think Jovovich is a much better fit for it.

In Guardians Of The Galaxy, Zoe Saldana plays Gamora, “the deadliest woman in the galaxy,” and now she’s taking those talents to a new action-thriller called Hummingbird. That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, which says Saldana will star in the film as “a female black-ops assassin” who has to “confront her true identity” while on a mission. Hummingbird is being directed by Swedish filmmakers Marcus Kryler and Fredrik Akerstrom, who previously directed the “cinematic content” for the video game Battlefield 1. Also, the script was written by a guy named John McClaine, which is a very a good name to have if you’re making action movies (even if it is spelled wrong).
We don’t know much else about Hummingbird, but THR does compare it to Luc Besson’s 2014 film Lucy, which is a reasonably good sign.
