Mark Woodring grew up in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania and in the north
Houston suburb of Spring, Texas. After graduating from high school, he
joined the United States Air Force.
During his 20-year career he earned two Associate's Degrees in Applied Avionics and Computer Science, before retiring from the Air Force at the end of 2009. He completed his BS in English (with a History minor) from Weber State University in December of 2010 and his MA in English in April of 2012.
His debut film, Interest (II) (2013), was made with the help of the New Ogden Cinema film group, and marked the first time director Jason White directed a piece he had not written.
He continues to work on scripting other short films as well as pursuing his primary passion as a novelist.
