Their time is nearly up..." Indeed, a haunting and reflectively chilling sentiment to writer/director/actress Lauren Cooney's enthralling Sf short film Pendulum. Cooney's fine-tuned, contemplative alarmist sci-fi spectacle certainly swings both ways in its perceptive and fatalistic forecast as a compelling look at two different forces of nature co-existing on the major brink of destruction: human nature versus mother nature. This small-scale observational study of jeopardized humanity and the vast planetary haven it rests on before the ultimate eradication is quite riveting and introspective given its barely twenty-minute running time presentation.
