There is lots of news dribbling out of Netflix today.
While we don’t have many details, we might as well get the discussion started.
Here’s what we’ve got.
Adam Sandler Revives Happy Gilmore
For fans of Adam Sandler, the movie Happy Gilmore might be one of his greatest achievements.
Golfers rarely get the movie star treatment despite the amount of money that goes to the winners, but this 1996 movie uses adversity to push him toward the big prize.
Today, Netflix announced that they’d be reviving Mr. Gilmore, but little else is known.
Should some of Happy’s old rivals return?
Christopher McDonald played Happy’s rival Shooter McGavin, and he mentioned the project in March.
Whether that means he’ll be along for the ride remains to be seen.

Hannah Waddingham is not afraid to confront people who make her do things she’s not comfortable or willing to do, just like the photographer at the Olivier Awards who had a taste of her wrath. The actress did not mince her words, and on-the-spot called out the snapper.

The SAG-AFTRA recently presented Hannah Waddingham with a career retrospective in recognition of her 20-year career as an actress, singer, and TV presenter. She is most notably known for her role as Rebecca Welton in the sports comedy-drama Ted Lasso, for which she has won several accolades, including an SAG, a Critics Choice, and an Emmy.
Wearing a striking red cardigan and skirt co-ord, the 49-year-old actress made an impression at the event held in her honor at The SAG-AFTRA Foundation Robin Williams Center in New York City.
Though she’s currently busy promoting her next action-comedy movie, The Fall Guy, starring Barbie’s Ryan Gosling and Oppenheimer’s Emily Blunt, Waddingham was giving Ted Lasso’s Rebecca Welton in her red knit Self Portrait outfit. Her naturally elegant, poised, and confident aura had me enamored.

Actress Hannah Waddingham was told she didn’t have a face for television by a childhood drama teacher. The ‘Ted Lasso’ actress, who started her career with small roles in British soaps like ‘Doctors’ and ‘Brookside’ as well as working on the West End, can still recall her teacher mocking her appearance in front of the entire class, reports Female First UK.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2 podcast ‘Rule Beakers’, the actress said: “I had one drama teacher that said to the whole class ‘Oh Hannah will never work on screen because she looks like one side of her face has had a stroke’.”
“I thought, ‘I will do. Come hell or high water, I will work on screen’,” she added.
As per Female First UK, the ‘My Family’ star admitted even her headmistress tried to stop her from pursuing a career in acting.

Hannah Waddingham, the Emmy-winning Ted Lasso star, says the words of a teacher helped fuel her ambition to become a star of the screen.
Waddingham told a BBC podcast that a teacher insulted her appearance, but instead of it being a dispiriting experience, she used it to galvanize her work ethic.

1. Ted Lasso and Rebecca Welton The bond between Ted Lasso and Rebecca Welton is one that truly captures the essence of growth and forgiveness. Initially, Rebecca’s intent to sabotage the football club by hiring an American coach with no soccer experience seemed like a recipe for disaster. Ted’s unwavering kindness begins to chip away at Rebecca’s hardened exterior, revealing a tender side of her that resonates with viewers. The term “milking” is used to describe the exploitation of a certain thing to a shameless level. I prefer not to use the word when I’m writing an article about something, but Apple TV’s Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas has compelled me to do so. I am not a huge fan of Ted Lasso. For my personal taste, the megahit Apple TV show mostly comes off as saccharine-sweet. But the impact it has created on pop culture is undeniable. Naturally, from Apple TV’s perspective, milking something as celebrated as Ted Lasso makes sense in terms of business. But why not make a proper Christmas special instead of the staged extravaganza that Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas is? I mean, when you have the entire cast of Ted Lasso at your service, then why not make them play the parts they’re known for?
Instead of that,...

Ted Lasso fans know both sides of British actress Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca Welton: She’s the tough, biscuit-loving AFC Richmond team owner and grand mistress of karaoke with incredible pipes. Now it turns out the Season 2 Christmas episode, which ended with a joyous carol, was only a warm-up to the musical theater star’s holiday special, Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas. (Credit: Apple TV+) The show is an emotional homecoming for Waddingham. The London Coliseum, a striking 118-year-old venue where it was shot before an audience of 2,000, was “where Hannah spent her childhood, running around backstage and watching her mom sing with the English National Opera,” says exec producer Moira Ross. “It’s where she got her start in music.” The evening features comedy bits, glamorous gowns, a swing band, plenty of songs — showcasing Waddingham’s range through opera, rock and jazz — and familiar names beside her onstage.

Jason Sudeikis and his old Saturday Night Live cast mate Will Forte were all set for a reunion duet at a Kansas City benefit concert over the weekend when one of Sudeikis’ more recent costars arrived to, musically at least, save the day: Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham.
Appearing at Steps of Faith’s Thundergong!, an annual Kansas City benefit event to raise funds for amputees, host Sudeikis began to sing A Star is Born‘s “Shallow” with special guest Forte when Waddingham muscled her way into the duet and stole the show.
Waddingham’s vocal chops might have surprised folks who only know the actress from her Emmy-winning turn as Rebecca Welton on Ted Lasso. In truth, she’s been nominated for three Olivier Awards for her West End musical performances in Spamalot, A Little Night Music and Kiss Me, Kate.

There's a lot to love about "Ted Lasso," both the Apple TV+ series and the charming football coach who is never short on homegrown phrases, pop culture references, insightful similes, and meaningful metaphors. Yes, even if season 3 was a bit of a misstep, we still love the guy. But perhaps one of the most delightful things Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) did upon his arrival at AFC Richmond was delivering tasty biscuits to his new boss, team owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), every single morning. Even more wonderful was that the inexperienced coach actually made the biscuits himself and carefully placed them in a cute pink box. Rebecca made those biscuits look absolutely delicious, and now you can enjoy them for yourself.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house among the full cast and crew on the last day of filming Ted Lasso‘s season three. The shot was in the fictional Richmond Fc locker room before its championship game against rival West Ham — and before beloved coach Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis (who’s nominated for lead actor and writing in addition to comedy series), was scheduled to return to the U.S. Instead of his usual pep talk, Lasso introduces a video, looking back at the team’s growth. “The tears are real,” says Declan Lowney, who directed this episode and eight others during the three seasons of the 11-time Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series. (Its 10 noms this year include nods to most of the talent mentioned in this story.) Famously based on a 2013 NBC Sports promo, Sudeikis’ depiction of an American college football coach who moves to...

Sweet Magnolias so far is having a good run, with the third season out for fans of the three independent women living in Serenity, South Carolina, and how the town has shaped their personalities. The writers of the show went out of their way to portray the whole town as a virtuous place, whose residents immediately come to help those in need. It made us wonder how the readers could explore more shows in the same genre, older and new ones, to understand the nuances of each show. Hannah Waddingham is sharing the powerful impact "Ted Lasso" - and its unique brand of magic - had on her acting career. Following the series finale on May 31, the actor appeared on "The View" on June 15 and spoke about how the feel-good series helped her overcome one of her greatest insecurities as an actor: her height.
"Being a woman who's not small, very tall, I had always struggled," said Waddingham, who is 5'11". She went on to explain how her stature has always been a disadvantage since she began her acting career in the early 2000s. Waddingham even recalled being turned down on more than one occasion because her male costar would have been shorter than her. When it came to booking her spot on "Ted Lasso," however, Waddingham was shocked that her costar Jason Sudeikis was not threatened by her height.
"Jason was like, 'I don't care if she wears four-inch heels.

Ted Lasso and Rebecca Welton lived happily ever after… just not with each other.
In the Apple TV+ comedy’s presumed series finale, Ted returned to Kansas to take a more active role in Henry’s life, while Rebecca formed a family of her own with the Dutchman and his daughter. But many a rom-communist wanted Ted and Rebecca to wind up together, and were let down when they went their separate ways.

This post contains spoilers for the season 3 finale of "Ted Lasso."
The third season of "Ted Lasso" has been called an endurance test, but for those who endured, the protracted, 660-minute season (and possibly series) is now finally over. It ended with an episode entitled, "So Long, Farewell," and never mind the musical number of that name (inspired by "The Sound of Music"), because I prefer to read that title without the comma, as if even the creators of "Ted Lasso" realized this season was so long.
One of the more polarizing subplots in "Ted Lasso" season 3 was the redemption of Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed), who made a heel turn at the end of season 2, only to get a girlfriend, turn around on his other heel, and suddenly become a nice guy again. /Film's Ben Pearson called Nate's season 3 arc "a catastrophic storytelling decision from which the show never recovered.

Looking back at Season 1 of Apple’s hit comedy series Ted Lasso, Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) is figuring out the kind of woman she wants to be, and what man could offer her the love and support she needs—all while Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) compete for her attention and affection.
But across three seasons, Keeley really came into her own as she discovered the value and love she sought out from others resided within herself. She was complete all on her own but it sure was lovely to share it all with friends like Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and even Roy and Jamie, who slowly warmed to one and now are in a full fledge bromance.
Temple breaks down Keeley’s journey across three seasons, picks between Roy and Jamie as her character’s true love and whether or not she’d be into a female football spinoff.

The following post contains spoilers for the “Ted Lasso” Season 3 finale, “So Long, Farewell.”
If “Ted Lasso” has come to an end after three seasons, Emmy-winning star Hannah Waddingham is satisfied with how her character, AFC Richmond team owner Rebecca Welton, said goodbye to the Apple TV+ series.
In the Season 3 finale, Richmond coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) decides to leave the team to move back home to Kansas to be with his son. Rebecca tries to convince Ted to stay to no avail, so instead does the next best thing: she keeps the team but sells 49 percent of the organization’s stock shares back to the loyal fans. It completes an arc for Rebecca that started in Episode 10, “International Break,” when the Richmond team owner admonished her fellow owners for valuing their greed over the sport’s spectators.

This scene is so Epic! Rebecca’s Welton speech was so touching.

[This story contains spoilers for “So Long, Farewell,” the season three finale of Ted Lasso.]
For the record, Hannah Waddingham doesn’t know if Ted Lasso is definitively over either.
“I genuinely don’t know,” Waddingham told The Hollywood Reporter after the Apple TV+ hit’s third season finale debuted, playing very much like a series ender. “That’s what’s kind of unnerving about it, because I’m not ready to say goodbye to Rebecca, or any of them.”
Co-creators and executive producers Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly and Bill Lawrence have repeatedly said that they envisioned a three-season arc for Sudeikis’ title character, an American football coach hired to lead English football club AFC Richmond at the behest of team owner Rebecca Welton (Waddingham). The finale ends with Ted returning to the United States to be closer to his son and ex-wife, but also leaves openings for continuing the story in London.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the Season 3 finale of Ted Lasso.
Apple’s hit comedy series Ted Lasso wrapped up its third season on Tuesday night and quite possibly the series as we’ve come to know it. But no matter what happens in the future, Hannah Waddingham is proud of all she accomplished as Rebecca Welton and how things ended for her character.
As we revealed in our recap, Ted (Jason Sudeikis) helps AFC Richmond win big against West Ham —mission complete. He moves forward with his plans to return to Kansas to reunite with his son Henry leaving Rebecca and most of the team in tears. But life goes on, as it does, and everything works out as it should.
In the final moments of the episode, Rebecca was departing the airport sad after saying goodbye to Ted when she spots a young girl running outside of the terminal.

“Football is life!” If you’re a true Ted Lasso fan, you probably heard Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández) saying that quote in your head as you read it. And we don’t blame you! This beloved Apple TV+ show is full of lovable characters, who are known for saying some of the most memorable lines. Who can forget when Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) told Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh), “You know what the happiest animal on Earth is? It’s a goldfish. You know why? It’s got a 10-second memory,” after Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) tripped him while they were running drills? Or when Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) confessed to Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), “I have a confession to make. I’ve never really cared about football. I know. Sparking a romance with a hot footballer on the striving AFC Richmond team — which she won from her nasty former husband who dumped her for a younger model — and then plotting revenge on her ex when he bought a rival team and stole Richmond’s tactical coach, has kept the English long-stemmed rose awful busy. And yet she still makes time for watching the telly! There's been much talk about whether "Ted Lasso" will end after season 3, but it doesn't take a psychic to imagine that the show's characters might stick around somehow — even if it's without Coach Lasso himself. One cast member who would be happy to keep playing her character indefinitely is Hannah Waddingham, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of Rebecca Welton, owner of the Premier League football club, AFC Richmond.
Season 3 of "Ted Lasso" has seen Rebecca living out moments that her mother's psychic predicted would happen, such as a green matchbook showing up at a pivotal moment or someone uttering the nonsensical phrase "sh*te in nining armor." Waddingham herself is less certain of the future, in part because that's how "Ted Lasso" star Jason Sudekis is rolling.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers through Ted Lasso Season 3, Episode 6, “Sunflowers.”] Ted Lasso went international as AFC Richmond visited Amsterdam for a “friendly” match against the Dutch. While the game was low stakes and a loss for the Greyhounds, it was a possible win for owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), who may have cracked the code when it comes to her psychic mystery in Season 3. As fans will recall, after a session with her mother’s psychic, Rebecca was told she’d find love and become a mother, and it would involve a green matchbook, her being drenched, and upside down, but safe. Well, it would appear that some of these things came true when she met a Dutch man while walking the streets of Amsterdam. Is it just me, or does every character on Ted Lasso need a hug?
Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 5 continued to put them all through the wringer as they searched for meaning in different ways.
We'll start with Rebecca because she's been quite literally getting signs following her meeting with the psychic on Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 3.
Hannah Waddingham plays every aspect of Rebecca to perfection, but she was on another level throughout "Signs" as Rebecca went through every emotion in her quest to make sense of the psychic's teases.
The saddest part of Rebecca's journey is that she didn't believe anything the psychic said, so whenever something happens, she's more curious than ever.
The "sh-t- in nining armor" of it all has been the topic of much debate since the trip to the psychic, so you can only imagine my surprise when she bumped into John Wingsnight and his new fiance muttered that phrase.

“Game of Thrones” consistently landed multiple nominations for its eclectic cast, with Tyrion Lannister actor Peter Dinklage earning the most out of his costars with eight nominations and four wins. Now, the prequel show “House of the Dragon” may take over that mantle with several players from that show competing for Emmy bids this season. However, the ghost of “Thrones” remains with many alumni in the running for other shows this year. Let’s take a closer look at a half dozen who we predict are the likeliest to hear their names on Emmy nominations morning.
Hannah Waddingham — “Ted Lasso”
Waddingham played Septa Unella in “Thrones,” with her best moment coming in Cersei‘s walk of shame in season five. Now, she’s in the running to pick up a bookend to the Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy she won in 2021. She lost last year to Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott...
