Exclusive: Christine Ko, who starred in Alan Yang’s Tigertail and currently plays Emma opposite Dave Burd on his FX comedy series Dave, has signed with WME to be represented in all areas.
The news comes after Ko starred in Yang’s directorial debut feature film Tigertail, which bowed on Netflix last year. In July, she signed on to co-star in Nicholas Ma’s indie drama Mabel alongside Judy Greer. Other film credits include Tyler Savage’s Stalker and Stephanie Turner’s Justine.
On the TV side, Ko’s credits include Netflix’s Master of None, Disney+’s Just Beyond, Amazon’s Upload and a season-long arc on CBS’ Hawaii Five-0. She also was a series regular on Joel McHale’s CBS’ sitcom The Great Indoors.
She continues to be repped by Circle of Confusion and Hansen Jacobson.

Exclusive: Lexi Perkel (John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch) has been cast as the lead in Nicholas Ma’s indie, Mabel.
The 11-year-old actress will star alongside the previously announced Judy Greer (Kidding) and Christine Ko (Dave).
The film scripted by Ma and Joy Goodwin centers on Callie (Perkel), whose only friends are the plants and trees that surround her home. When her dad’s job moves the family to a sterile subdivision, she is utterly isolated except for her best friend, a potted plant named Mabel. To Callie, Mabel is a peer, a fellow being — maybe overlooked or unseen but still very much alive.
Helen Estabrook, Luca Borghesde and Ben Howe are producing the film.
Ko is portraying Callie’s youthful mother, Angela, with Greer playing a character known as Mrs. G, as we reported last month.
With Mabel, Perkel makes her feature film debut. The NYC native has...

Tribeca Film Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation announced on Thursday the four winners of this year’s Tfi Sloan Filmmaker Fund, which will be awarded grants of $150,000 with mentorship.
The Fund, which champions fiction films and series that feature themes of science, math and technology, has selected “Mabel,” “The Mushroomers,” “Neon Tilapia” and “Tadpole” — all of which are currently in development.
“We’re excited to announce this group of projects which feature glowing genetically modified fish, a mycologist, and a high school student whose best friend is an intelligent potted plant,” Amy Hobby, executive director at Tribeca Film Institute said in a statement. “All four of these projects are in the development phase, and the Tfi Sloan Filmmaker Fund grant will give these teams the boost they need to propel their projects forward.”
