Warner Bros. has finally released the first images from ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters‘, the much anticipated sequel to 2014’s ‘Godzilla.’ Although Gareth Edwards‘ reboot of the beloved property was divisive to say the least, the sequel looks to improve on the sequel, while also bringing more mythology into he fold. Filmmaker Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat) steps into the director’s chair this time around, bringing an all new cast to the sequel, sans returning members of monarch played by Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins.

The first two photos have been released for director Michael Dougherty's Godzilla: King of the Monsters. They show off Godzilla blowing out a massive blasting a blue atomic ray from its mouth up into the night sky.
The second image gives us our first look at Millie Bobby Brown and Vera Farmiga, who said her character, Dr. Emma Russell, has found a way to communicate with the giant monsters and possibly control them by being a "DJ for the monsters!" These two characters are mother and daughter and they have been kidnapped by "a mysterious organization, with their own plans for the creatures."
While talking to EW, Dougherty talks about how people reacted to Godzilla's arrival in the first movie and how paranoia has changed the world, saying:
"The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting.

Say what you will about the 1998 Godzilla, but that movie had a pretty ingenious method of advertising the size of the titular beast without giving away its appearance, launching a series of posters emblazoned with such ominous boasts as “His foot is bigger than this bus.” Obviously, Godzilla: King of the Monsters can’t pull the same less-is-more trick with the legendary lizard, seeing how the film is a sequel to the 2014 Godzilla, so instead, Warner Bros. is giving us an early look at the creature’s return, and it doesn’t seem like he’s coming back to make friends.
Two new images have been released via Entertainment Weekly today and as you can see below, one of them shows the famed Kaiju shrouded in darkness and wading through water while breathing a jet of fire into the sky. We just hope there weren’t any unsuspecting seagulls flying overhead.

Vera Farmiga has revealed some interesting news about the character she plays in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. She says that her character, Dr. Emma Russell, has found a way to communicate with the giant monsters and possibly control them. How? You ask. Well, she says she's like a DJ for the monsters! While talking to Metro, she explained:
"She has figured out a way to communicate with the creatures and potentially control them using their bioacoustics on a sonar level. So she is like a DJ for the monsters."
I doubt that she's going to be on a stage at a monster rave controlling them by spinning records, although, that is a pretty funny visual to imagine! It will be interesting to see how controlling these giant monsters will play into the story. We also don't know if Farminga will be using this DJ monster power for good or for evil.
