Last August, developers Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games teamed up with publisher Dear Villagers to bring the world a sci-fi horror video game called Fort Solis, which was directed by James Tinsdale and featured performances from Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Julia Brown (World on Fire) and Troy Baker (The Last of Us). Now Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar have signed a deal with Studios Extraordinaires to develop film and TV adaptations, with the directing duo of André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson set to take the helm of the Fort Solis movie!
Hedetoft told IGN they were drawn to the material because “You get a super cinematic immersive experience when you play it, you have amazing characters and actors that brought them to life in the game, and you have some really creative people behind it, and I think that’s exactly the kind of dream project to do.

Bethesda’s Starfield was supposed to be its crowning achievement in 2023. After the acquisition from Microsoft, it’s the first game from the developers that is exclusive to the Xbox (for now). However, it fell short of many expectations, leaving a void for fans of games set in space.
To make up for the lackluster performance of the Xbox exclusive, fans have been looking for other titles with a similar setting and vibe. Well, these gamers found refuge in a game that was released a little before Starfield but offered players a much better experience, one that is now improved further.

The adrenaline-pumping space opera Fort Solis was shown off in a trailer at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
The event, which runs through Sunday, dubs itself “the world’s largest event for computer and video games and Europe’s most comprehensive business platform for the games industry” and always showcases new releases.
Fort Solis, available now and developed by Fallen Leaf and published by Dear Villagers, is a four-episode playable thriller starring three astronauts played by Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Julia Brown (M. I. High), and Troy Baker (the voice of Joel in The Last of Us).
The independent video game was made by a very small team. “Ten people, two years of work, and zero delays,” Clark shouted, literally, from the convention stage, referencing a trend in the video game industry of continually pushing back video game release dates. “It’s really beautiful to see what independent studios can accomplish today.

There’s an old joke in the nerd world: once Sean Bean is cast as a character in a film or TV show, that character is doomed to die. Every corner of fandom has their own Sean Bean death, but there are, of course, the rare occasions when Bean survives on screen. Period drama fans remember well the heyday of the Sharpe series in the ’90s, and Millennials remember how Bean’s character in National Treasure was carted off to jail instead of killed. Women in war films and TV series tend to fall into a few narrow tropes—that is, if they even show up at all. While most war movies, such as Dunkirk or 1917, have very few female characters and who only show up to provide emotional support to men, previous British miniseries that do focus on women during war times, such as Land Girls, focus largely on women producing food or fundraising on the home front. This is what World on Fire, a new drama currently airing on Masterpiece PBS, stands largely in contrast to.
World on Fire follows five families as they endure the Nazis attack on Europe at home and on the battlefield in the first year of World War II. The ensemble’s woman characters—including factory-worker-turned-singer Lois Bennett (Julia Brown), pianist Connie Knight (Yrsa Daley-Ward), waitress-turned-freedom fighter Kasia Tomaszeski (Zofia Wichłacz), and journalist Nancy Campbell (Helen Hunt...
