Deftones frontman Chino Moreno and his wife Risa have taken in a rescue dog that was nearly euthanized.
Scarlett, a pug, suffered a severe anal prolapse and was advised to be euthanized by a veterinarian. However, Scarlett was rescued by the The Pug Queen Foundation of Los Angeles, and she underwent surgery before being fostered and later finding a forever home with the Morenos.
Scarlett will join the couple’s other pups, Tito and Sasha, in their home in Portland, Oregon, after Chino picked her up in L.A. while on tour with Crosses. The Pug Queen, who helped initially rescue Scarlett, shared a photo of Chino, Risa, and Scarlett on Instagram, along with the heartwarming tale of how the pug survived and found her new home:
“This little girl was dropped off at a shelter with a severe anal prolapse after a vet told her owners to euthanize her.

Got a hankering for chocolate? Here’s how to stream Wonka online from the comfort of your own home!
The Timothée Chalamet-led film — which topped the 2023 box office and to date has grossed $590 million globally — introduces audiences to a young Willy Wonka as he becomes the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker. The prequel is (loosely) based on the Roald Dahl novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was of course first adapted in 1971 as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (with the great Gene Wilder in the title role). It was later reimagined in 2005 as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,...

††† (Crosses) — the duo of Chino Moreno (Deftones) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez — recruited Run the Jewels rapper El-p for the track “Big Youth” on their 2023 album, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. Now they’ve teamed up for the song’s music video.
The clip arrives a day after Crosses launched their North American tour. Moreno and Lopez are set to play Denver on Friday (February 9th), with the outing running through March 11th in Seattle. You can get tickets via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.
The Rizz-edited video for “Big Youth” is an all-business performance clip that should give fans a glimpse into the duo’s stage show. Strobes and campy video effects overlay Lopez, who’s hunched over his gear as he provides the backbeat and synths, while Moreno paces back and forth while he physically wears the angst in his voice.

††† (Crosses) — the band featuring singer Chino Moreno (Deftones) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez — have announced their first full-length album in nine years. The LP, titled Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete., arrives October 13th, and features this just-released single “Invisible Hand.”
The album features two prominent guests: rapper El-p on the song “Big Youth” and The Cure’s Robert Smith on the tune “Girls Float † Boys Cry.”
“When we started working on Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete., there was so much more light coming in my life, for numerous reasons,” said Moreno in a press release. “There’s a lot more optimism. Even the darker themes are more romanticized and not coming from a place of despair.”
While Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. marks the proper full-length follow-up to Crosses’ self-titled 2014 debut album, the band has been active the past couple years, releasing a number of singles,...

Two previously unreleased tracks from the supergroup Palms, featuring Deftones singer Chino Moreno and members of the defunct post-metal band Isis, have been unearthed.
The songs have been combined under the title “Opening Titles / End Credits” and have been released via Ipecac Recordings. Likely hailing from the sessions that yielded Palms’ sole self-titled LP in 2013, the 10-minute piece serves as a reminder of the gorgeous post-metal music that the Moreno-fronted project produced.
The singer is backed by core instrumentalists in Isis: bassist Jeff Caxide, drummer Aaron Harris and guitarist Bryant Clifford Meyer. As opposed to the more sludgy/metallic nature of that band and Deftones’ harsher tendencies, Palms falls more into the shoegazey dream-pop camp, with Moreno’s soaring vocals bedded by lush guitar lines and tidal crescendos.
Ipecac releasing previously unheard Palms material might be a one-off, though the move could also hint at a possible reissue of their self-titled album.

Last Episode Review: Alec Baldwin Proves There Are Two Types of Problems: Regular, And Trump
After a few weeks’ hiatus, “Saturday Night Live” returned with a surprising episode: It alternately commented on politics and race, made ample use of its Academy Award-winning host, and surprised us with its liberal use of the word “bitch.” This episode was silly, and weird, and best of all, it was consistent. The season thus far has been light on impactful episodes from cold open to the goodnights – Dave Chappelle, of course, is the crucial exception – but last night’s episode got pretty close to nailing it. Can McKinnon doing a Kellyanne Conway sight gag be a running joke through the rest of the season, please?
Host: Octavia Spencer
Octavia Spencer is a really good host, you guys. She’s already likeable, of course, but her exuberance felt infectious. Hers was a shorter monologue than...
