Luca Guadagnino's new film "Challengers" is set in 2019 during a pivotal tennis match between tennis pro Art Donaldson (Mike Faist) and the struggling also-ran Patrick Zweig (Josh O'Connor). Watching from the stands is Donaldson's wife, the former teen tennis prodigy Tashi Duncan (Zendaya). Tashi looks incredibly concerned, and the two players seem to hate each other. The film then begins a series of flashbacks, stretching back 13 years to when the characters were all teenagers. It seems that Art, Patrick, and Tashi once had a three-way makeout session in a motel room that cemented their physical and emotional attraction for years. Tashi briefly dated Josh, while Art, retaining a crush, attempted to sabotage their relationship. Art and Tashi would begin a romance after she sustains an injury, with Tashi becoming Art's coach. Resentment bubbles apace.
It's all very soapy, of course, but Guadagnino tempers the melodrama with excellent attention to detail,...

Former coach of Serena Williams, Patrick Mouratoglou, stated that the legendary American is unequivocally the greatest female tennis player of all time.
Mouratoglou coached Serena during her trophy-laden years from 2012 to 2022, in which the American shattered plenty of records. But one landmark that eluded the now 42-year-old Williams is the overall Grand Slam record, proudly owned by Australian tennis great Margaret Court.
The Frenchman has previously lavished praise on the younger of the Williams sisters, believing that her numbers are unlikely to be beaten and his choice of putting Serena at the top of the women's tree ahead of 24-time Grand Slam champion Court divided opinion.
However, Mouratoglou opined that Serena, who won 23 Grand Slams in singles during an illustrious playing career lasting nearly three decades, deserved to be named the great female tennis player purely because she played in the professional circuit, which is classified as the Open Era,...

Holger Rune recently shared his end-of-year post on social media, which included a list of goals for the upcoming season.
Rune broke the world's Top 10 for the first time in his young career at the 2022 Paris Masters when he shockingly defeated Novak Djokovic in the final. His exponential rise took him to a career-high ranking of World No. 4 - the highest peak of any Danish man in Atp history.
The 20-year-old is already looking ahead into the future, and it is so bright that it can almost hurt his eyes. Rune took to Instagram to send his best wishes for the new year but, most importantly, share his ambitions of eventually taking the next step in his career with his fans.

Holger Rune has announced that he is extending his arrangement with the Mouratoglou Academy.
The Danish No. 1 has created headlines off the court in recent months. In October, he hired six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker as his coach, and their partnership continues for the upcoming season.
In addition, Rune added a former coach of Roger Federer's to his team. That man was Severin Luthi, who was a part of the Swiss legend's team for 15 years, from 2007 to 2022.
Rune also practiced recently with the returning Rafael Nadal. The 20-year-old was complimentary of the Spaniard's level, and thinks he can challenge for big trophies. The Grand Slam quarterfinalist will hope he can do the same.
One collaboration that did end before the changes Rune made was having Patrick Mouratoglou as his coach. Serena Williams' former coach held that position with the Dane for 12 months.
That partnership ended after the US Open.

Holger Rune has been forced to hire a temporary coach following confirmation that Boris Becker and Severin Luthin will not make it to Australia in the opening week of 2024.
Rune tied Becker to a long-term contract after a successful stint as an interim coach last autumn when he parted ways with Patrick Mouratoglou. The young Dane went the extra mile to keep up with the growing list of tennis players working with two coaches.
Rune brought on board one of Roger Federer's former coaches, Severin Luthi, to work in tandem with Becker and help him compete for top honors in 2024. The coaching alliance with such a gaudy duo is expected to tap into Rune's real potential.
However, both Becker and Luthi won't travel with Rune for the first tournament of 2024 in Brisbane, where the 20-year-old is the top seed in a star-studded field featuring 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal...

Noted coach Patrick Mouratoglou doesn't think that breaking a racquet is a sign of weakness, as some might say, but it could be the opposite using the example of Novak Djokovic.
Anytime you use the example of Novak Djokovic, you have to qualify the statement that he's not really the norm. He's the exception to the rule because he might be the best ever to do it, but Mouratoglou's points still stand.
Djokovic hasn't been the only one who could channel his frustration into something positive. In fact, many of the historically best players can use it to fuel their desire to win even more, resulting in a positive outcome.
When a player breaks a racquet it doesn't mean that he's weak mentally. Othwerwise Novak is weak mentally. He is breaking racquts. I don't think we can say that Novak is weak mentally. I would say it depends how you break it in a way.

Patrick Mouratoglou has been in tennis for many years, and the coach has seen how Novak Djokovic backed up bold claims from earlier in his career.
Novak Djokovic currently sits at 24 Grand Slams, but many years ago, the Serbian was at zero. Despite being at number zero at the time, Djokovic strongly believed that he could dethrone both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
It wasn't well received, as many called him cocky for his comments, but Djokovic knew better. The Serbian knew that if he worked as hard as he could and believed in himself, he'd at least give himself a chance to do so, and he did.
In a recent video posted on his Instagram, the French coach spoke about his belief and the importance of believing in yourself generally.

Simona Halep admits it would be a "disaster" if her doping ban is upheld for the entire four-year period, which many believe could jeopardize her professional career.
Halep was sanctioned by the Itia following conclusive evidence by an independent tribunal in September for two counts of anti-doping rule violations deemed "intentional" and was banned from competing on the tennis circuit for up to four years.
The Romanian star tested positive for the prohibited doping agent Roxadustat - known for increasing red blood cell production - at the 2022 US Open and was found to have irregularities on her athlete's biological passport after analysis of 51 blood samples.
A crestfallen Halep has continually pleaded her innocence from the confines of the court of law, on media houses, and even on her social media platform. Several of her fellow pros have backed her, and pundits like Chris Evert believe she is innocent.

Former coach of Serena Williams, Patrick Mouratoglou, believes that Emma Raducanu needs to find stability to be great again.
Emma Raducanu's career has been quite interesting to observe. From the rapid rise to the fall from grace, the British player has a lot to prove in 2024. She took most of 2023 off to fix some physical issues that bothered her until then and will return soon to rebuild her career.
The journey will be exciting for Raducanu, who talked about it in the past, noting that she's looking for a fresh start. It will happen in Auckland in over a week, and fans are excited to see it. Patrick Mouratoglou will be watching closely, and the Frenchman spoke to Express about Raducanu's career.
Of course for Emma it is about her being fit but not only that. She has been injured but she has also not been injured and not performing.

The Ultimate Tennis Showdown is an interesting competition format created by famous coach Patrick Mouratoglou, and every edition shows very interesting things.
Tennis is a very traditional sport and throughout the years, there haven't been many changes to how the sport is played. Of course, there are some tournaments, such as the NextGen Atp Finals, that use an alternative format.
For example, the NextGen Atp Finals tournament is played as the best-of-five sets to four with a tie-break at 3-3. However, the format that Patrick Mouratoglou brought with the Uts is something that tennis has never seen before.
The Ultimate Tennis Showdown is played in quarters, instead of games and sets, and the traditional 15-30-40 is removed as well. Players earn just 1 point for each rally that they won (as they do in tie-break normally), unless they use a special card, another interesting twist to the event.

French coach Patrick Mouratoglou has made a stunning admission on why Novak Djokovic is "hated" by tennis crowds.
In a recent interview at the Uts Grand Final in London, Mouratoglou explained why Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slams, has been subjected to constant heckling from fans and has never been held on the same level of adulation as the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic has surpassed both of his longtime rivals in terms of tennis numbers. He has a winning head-to-head record against the pair and has won more Grand Slams, Atp Finals crowns, and Masters titles than Federer and Nadal.
Yet, Djokovic doesn't quite have the same pulling power of fanfare that Federer and Nadal enjoyed throughout their careers. That doesn't mean Djokovic is less charismatic, but it is because he disrupted the hegemony set by Federer and Nadal on the tennis circuit, according to Mouratoglou.

Patrick Mouratoglou is not a fan of Emma Raducanu's management of her coaching team and has advised the Briton to find stability in her coaching appointments.
They always say that you don't need to fix it if it's not broken, but Raducanu has never paid attention to those words. The 21-year-old and her father have a philosophy in which they take total control of coaching decisions, according to Raducanu's agent, Max Eisenbud.
Because of her chopping and changing methods, Raducanu has never stayed with a coach long enough to sustain her results. She has been heavily criticized for this coaching carousel that has been going on for the last three years, with former British tennis legend Ann Jones leading the choir.
Mouratoglou, one of the foremost tennis minds, has shared his thoughts on Raducanu's decision-making. The French coach believes Raducanu's problems (both form and injury) are directly impacted by the high turnover of coaches.

Dmitry Tursunov lavished praise on Novak Djokovic and believes the Serbian star is the "most motivated" player on the Atp Tour.
Djokovic, 36, has remained in peak physical shape, something Tursunov asserts has a massive impact on how he performs on the court. Testament to Djokovic's dedication and longevity, he is the oldest player in the world's Top 20.
Speaking on Championat, the former Atp World No. 20 opined that it would be difficult for the rest of the tour to beat Djokovic regularly if he remained in top-notch physical shape.
"No matter how many contenders there are, as long as Novak is in good shape, it will be very difficult to beat him. After all, in addition to his experience, he also has very good physical shape."
Djokovic did not have any major physical issues with his body throughout 2023, and he was able to pick and choose which tournaments to play based on their status and priority.

Renowned French coach Patrick Mouratoglou recently shared his thoughts about Rafael Nadal's impending tennis return and weighed his chances of success.
Nadal, 37, is set to play his first tournament in a year at next month's Brisbane International, which will herald the start of the 2024 men's tennis season. Having undergone surgery on a damaged hip he sustained at the 2023 Australian Open, the Spanish lefty is raring to play one more season.
There are a lot of unknowns pertaining to Nadal's form and fitness, but he has looked razor-sharp in preseason, according to reports. Nadal had trained in Kuwait since the start of December alongside French teenager Arthur Fils before returning to Mallorca.
For a man who knows nothing but to play every point as his life depended on it, Nadal has made a shocking revelation for the upcoming season, stating that fans should not expect him to go full throttle in his matches.

Patrick Mouratoglou believes the new generation of tennis stars, including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune, are close to matching Novak Djokovic's level.
Alcaraz, Sinner, and Rune have each defeated Djokovic at least once during the 2023 season and are tipped to carry the sport for the foreseeable future. But when all was said and done this year, Djokovic was still miles clear at the top in terms of points and titles.

The Romanian has received the backing of former Wta No. 1 Chris Evert, who was recently diagnosed with a recurrence of ovarian cancer and has announced her leave of absence from next month's Australian Open coverage on ESPN to focus on treatment.

Patrick Mouratoglou advised Emma Raducanu to stick with one coach and believe their plan rather than keep changing coaches regularly.
Throughout her still short tennis career, Raducanu built a reputation for changing coaches regularly. It's an interesting approach, which the player defended, saying it's something she's done since early tennis years.
However, many coaches don't support this approach, even claiming that it may be hurting the player and preventing her from progressing, which technically happened since Raducanu won the 2021 US Open.
But the Brit's lack of success can also be attributed to the injuries that she had to deal with, rather than changing coaches, and only time will tell whether this approach is the correct one for her.
Renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou spoke to SkySports about Raducanu, saying that the former world no. 10 on the Wt ATour needs to learn to trust one coach and their project.

Simona Halep is still attempting to clear her name and the Romanian recently sat down for an interview to talk about the latest developments.
In September this year, the former world no. 1 was suspended for four years, but she has since challenged the decision and is now set to appear at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
However, the development of the case has been a real rollercoaster and the most shocking twist came when her former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou admitted his guilt in the case.
Halep recently sat down with EuroNews, and the former Wta's world no. 1 detailed the "catastrophic" ban, which would likely saw her end her career, as the 32-year-old wouldn't have many chances to come back, and she's aware of that.

Emma Raducanu must find some consistency with her coaches and stop changing her approach off the court to reach the highest level, according to Patrick Mouratoglou.
Raducanu is set for her long-awaited return to tennis in 2024, as she is expected to play at the Asb Classic In Auckland in the first week of January. It will be the first competition where the former US Open champion has featured since her last appearance in April 2023 at the Stuttgart Open.
Although Raducanu has also suffered from injuries and form recently, one area where she has struggled for consistency is with finding a regular coach.
The 21-year-old has gone through eight coaches since winning the US Open, and Serena Williams' former coach, Mouratoglou, told Sky Sports that the British Wta player must make her next appointment a long-term one.
"I know that Raducanu is coming back which is great news for British tennis.

Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker both like to be respected, and that clearly showed in their recent spat on social media.
The 28-year-old made quite a few media appearances over the past few weeks, and during one of those, Kyrgios made a claim about past generations of players, saying they wouldn't stand a chance today.
One of the past leaders on the Atp Tour, Boris Becker, didn't like that statement, and he made sure to voice his opinion on social media, saying that Kyrgios has no "credibility" because he has never won a singles Grand Slam title.
That was a statement that the Australian didn't like, and he immediately hit back at the German coach with a series of tweets, trying to prove his statement about credibility wrong.

Following Novak Djokovic's record-setting season in 2023, the debate on whether he is better now than his great rival Roger Federer six years ago.
Federer, who turned 36 in 2017, put together one of the greatest comeback seasons in tennis history. With endless doubts about his long-term playing career following a five-month injury hiatus, he stormed to win the 2017 Australian Open.
The throwback year saw Federer return to his glory heydays, adding a second Grand Slam title of the season at Wimbledon and recovering his spot in the Top 2. Thanks to his coach, Ivan Ljubicic, the most conspicuous improvement was his renewed confidence and ability to tweak his backhand.
While the magnitude of Federer's accomplishments in 2017 and to a lesser extent in the early part of 2018 almost mirrors what Djokovic has done this year (even though the Serbian star statically has better numbers), there is a huge difference in that comparison according to Patrick Mouratoglou.

Former coach of Holger Rune, Patrick Mouratoglou, thinks that Jannik Sinner will overtake Carlos Alcaraz in 2024.
Patrick Mouratoglou had some big takes in years past, yet this one might be the boldest of all. The Atp Finals ended on a sour note for Alcaraz, but he played really well and reminded us all that he can still be great.
Sinner obviously had the better event and better conclusion to the year, but it's currently very difficult to tell which of the two youngsters is a better player, as they both had their good moments, but also bad moments when they didn't play so well.
Both of them are very young players, and both of them are improving with every event they play. One is better at this, the other at something else, but it's never that black and white in tennis. Even so, Mouratoglou is of the opinion that Sinner...

Holger Rune hired Boris Becker not too long ago, and the Dane has been pretty content with the way the relationship has panned out so far.
Rune hired Becker at probably the lowest point of his professional career. He struggled tremendously over the summer, losing multiple matches and holding a 1-9 record in his last ten matches at the time.
Then, he hired the German before the European indoor season, a part of the calendar that Rune dominated the year before. His performances steadily improved and he was able to find himself among the best at the Atp Finals.
The credit went to Becker, who changed Rune's approach. According to Becker, the youngster's mentality wasn't very good, and his game suffered.
The success they had was enough for Rune to extend the partnership into 2024, which is very exciting for the fans of Rune. He's destined for greatness, and having a...

Noted tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou shared his thoughts on Novak Djokovic, believing that the Serbian is a better player now than eight years ago.
Novak Djokovic in 2015 was a very fine player finishing the year with an 84-7 record. Some of the events he won that year include the Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo, Rome, Wimbledon, US Open, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris, and the Atp Finals.
Let's not forget that he played in the Dubai final, the Roland Garros final, the Montreal final, and the Cincinnati Masters final. Basically, he was absurdly good that year, and believing him to be better is quite a statement from Mouratoglou.
He talked about the current version of Djokovic on his social media page, discussing how he sees him as a more complete player now than in 2015. The Serbian did some amazing things this year but look at that list from 2015. That's tough to beat.

Few challenges in sport are quite as daunting as facing Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final, which is why Holger Rune called it his "dream match to win."
Djokovic has won the Australian Open a record 10 times with his most recent triumph coming in 2023 where he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the final. In 10 finals, the Serbian star has emerged unscathed at the year's first Grand Slam, winning every single time.
Djokovic has played some memorable matches at Melbourne Park over the years and his 2012 marathon win over Rafael Nadal ranks high on the list of the greatest tennis matches of all time. Yet, Rune would relish locking horns with the Serb at his kingdom in the final.
"My dream match to win? AusOpen final vs. Djokovic!"

Boris Becker took over as the coach of Holger Rune recently, and according to the former Atp player, attitude was the issue.
Rune has been a fabulous tennis player for a while now. He had an incredibly strong first half of the year but then struggled to find any kind of form over the summer.
Some changes needed to be made, and Rune hired Becker as his coach, with improvement following not long after. The Dane ultimately finished the year on a high note, which should give him confidence heading into next year, which is going to be a huge one.
The efforts by Becker were praised by Rune as the duo agreed to continue next year as well. In a recent chat with Eurosport, Becker spoke about his work with Rune, pinpointing attitude as the issue that held Rune back over the summer.

Holger Rune hired Boris Becker as coach recently, and they'll continue next year, and Alexander Zverev gave his verdict on the pairing.
It was a rather strange pairing because nobody really saw it coming. Becker didn't have any tennis appointment at the time, so he was available, but he hasn't been in coaching for a while, so a sudden return seemed unlikely.
It looked even less likely to be with Rune, who parted with Patrick Mouratoglou pretty recently. Everybody just assumed that he would go back to his old coach, but no, he actually threw a curveball going with Becker.
It wasn't a bad decision as he started to play better, something he said was due to Becker. Some have already pointed out how they are a pretty good match, and Zverev certainly thinks it's a pairing that can work.

Novak Djokovic has become the first tennis player in history to amass $180 million in career prize money thanks to his 7th Atp Finals title win last weekend.
The Serbian star defeated Jannik Sinner in the championship match in Turin, exacting revenge on his group-stage defeat, and pocketed the second-largest paycheck in Atp history amounting to $4,411,500. Had he gone undefeated he would have broken his own record from last year when he won close to $5 million.
Djokovic's success hasn't just come from winning titles, but he is being paid handsomely for his efforts. He has been regularly advocating for efficiency when it comes to his current purple patch that has seen him notch seven Atp titles in 2023 - the most by any player.
Djokovic has played just 12 Atp events, the fewest among the majority of top players, but still topped the list in terms of titles won and season prize money.

Boris Becker has signed the dotted line to take over as Holger Rune's full-time coach for the 2024 season after confirming an extension to their initial agreement.
Becker's confirmation comes just a couple of days from the official announcement by Rune's camp, which was done in writing by the Dane's mother, Aneke Rune. In her statement, Aneke was happy that they found a "good setup" through Becker's expertise for Holger to develop as a player.
The German great was initially assigned a temporary role in the team to cushion and salvage Rune's 2023 season following the dismissal of Patrick Mouratoglou as coach. Rune confirmed that his alliance with Becker was meant to last until the end of the season.
Becker's first main task at the helm was to turn around Rune's famine run of one win in 11 matches across all competitions, which he did at the first time of asking in Basel.

Patrick Mouratoglou made an honest confession when assessing Iga Swiatek's 2023 season claiming that her rivals had narrowed the gap at the top.
Swiatek's 75-week reign at the top of the world rankings came to a screeching halt following the 2023 US Open in which she succumbed to an upsetting loss to Jelena Ostapenko in the fourth round. That meant for the first time since March 2022, the Wta standings would have a different name at the summit.
It was Aryna Sabalenka who knocked her off the perch after reaching her second Grand Slam singles final in New York. The Pole, however, bounced back superbly soon after. A late-season surge by Swiatek yielded title wins in Beijing and Cancun, the latter being her first Wta Finals of her career.
Swiatek collected a maximum of 2,500 points in both tournaments, having gone undefeated at the year-end championships to swing the pendulum back in her favor.

World No. 10 Holger Rune and British rising star Jack Draper have been named as the two beneficiaries of wild cards at the "Grand Final" of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (Uts) in London.
The Uts will host its inaugural Grand Final from December 7 to 10 following the conclusion of the three legs of the competition across the globe this year. Each of the three champions in the three legs of 2023 automatically qualifies.
Eight players in total will contest the final event of this year's Uts tournament. Another way to earn a spot in the Grand Final is through a wild card which Rune and Draper have been given. And lastly, the top three players in the Uts Race with the highest points will complete the line-up.
That means Yibing Wu ( winner of Uts LA) and Andrey Rublev ( winner of Uts Frankfurt) have also secured their spots at the Grand Final in London.

Novak Djokovic is coming to Malaga to spearhead Serbia's bid to lift a second Davis Cup title.
Djokovic was instrumental in earning Serbia a spot in the Final 8, taking just a few days from his post-us Open victory celebration to travel to Valencia and scoring a 20th successive singles win in the Davis Cup when he defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Djokovic would then embark on a proper celebration with his family and spent the last one and a half months resting and recuperating. He rejoined the tour in late October at the Paris Masters, a tournament he won a seventh time.
Since the Wimbledon final, Djokovic has not lost a match. He saved a match point in the Cincinnati final against Carlos Alcaraz and subsequently won that tournament before adding a 24th Grand Slam at the US Open. Taking calculated breaks between play is definitely aiding Djokovic to preserve his energy levels and his body.

Holger Rune noted the marked improvement since appointing Boris Becker as his new coach and thanked the German great for steering him out of the mire.

Soon after the French coach departed his camp, Rune's mother made upsetting claims of a clash of egos between Mouratoglou and Lars Christensen, who served as Rune's longtime coach.

Patrick Mouratoglou's recent comments in which he admitted to being 'responsible' for Simona Halep's doping ban have left the Romanian star's fans irate and perturbed.

Holger Rune showed his appreciation to new coach Boris Becker for turning his season around in the midst of a dreadful set of results.
Recently, Rune confirmed Becker's appointment as his coach after weeks of speculation. Their partnership was documented to last until the end of the season. Becker replaced French coach Patrick Mouratoglou who parted ways with Rune after the US Open.
It was the German's first high-profile coaching job since he was released from a British prison late last year . The six-time former Grand Slam champion was absent during their first tournament together in Stockholm where Rune lost for a 10th time in 11 matches across all competitions.
Having soared to a career-high ranking of World No. 4 after Wimbledon, the Dane endured a major slump that nearly cost him a place at the Atp Finals. When he appointed Becker, the objective was to secure his spot in the final eight of the season-ending championships.

It was the German's first high-profile coaching job since he was released from a British prison late last year . The six-time former Grand Slam champion was absent during their first tournament together in Stockholm where Rune lost for a 10th time in 11 matches across all competitions.

Renowned French coach Patrick Mouratoglou has bitten the bullet and taken the blame for Simona Halep 's doping offense.
In his first public interview about the incident that landed Romania's most prominent tennis player in hot water, Mouratoglou 'feels responsible' but remained confident of a successful appeal that Halep lodged at the Court of Arbitration of Sport last month.
Halep was infamously hit with a four-year doping ban from tennis when an independent tribunal concluded there was "illicit blood manipulation" for a positive test of the prohibited Roxadustat substance and for a second charge related to irregularities with her biological passport.
In a video he shared on his Instagram account, the Frenchman argued that the banned substance was contaminated with collagen he had recommended to Halep. However, it was impossible for him or his team to know it given the minute quantities involved.

Holger Rune is playing much better tennis right now after hiring Boris Becker , but he wouldn't comment on what changes were made.
Rune began this year under Patrick Mouratoglou, who helped him take the next step last year. It was going really well for a while, but things fell apart quickly after Wimbledon. He lost multiple matches in a row, and while he did deal with some physical issues, his level was just terrible.
He had no confidence in his play and ultimately split with the French coach to go back to his old coach. That didn't last long either, as Rune ultimately hired Boris Becker recently, which surprised many.
Even so, they seemed like a good match on paper, and it's been going really well so far. Rune played his best event in months in Basel recently and looked really good in his first match at the Paris Masters...

Carlos Alcaraz may not be the World No. 1 in the Atp rankings for now, but he is top of the leaderboard in the Olympics Race ahead of Novak Djokovic .
The Spaniard has earned 4,280 points since mid-June when the points for the Olympics qualification started to accrue. Alcaraz has earned the bulk of his points from winning his second Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, beating Djokovic in that epic final in London .
Djokovic, meanwhile, is not far off, having accumulated 4,210 points ahead of his second-round match at the Paris Masters. Considering that the Serbian star missed the entire Asian swing , which would have certainly allowed him to pick up enough points to lead this race, it is quite an achievement that he is still there or thereabouts in leading.
Djokovic will be 37 when the Olympics come around next summer, but he's made his intentions clear that he regards next year's Games...

French coach Patrick Mouratoglou branded Novak Djokovic as the "best athlete" in light of his remarkable longevity and success in the final phase of his career.
In fact, Mouratologu tips the Serbian man, now 36, to play past the ripe old age of 40. Djokovic has established himself as the greatest tennis player of all time, boasting some mind-boggling numbers that his current contemporaries can only dream of.
Last month, he won a 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open , to extend his record as the undisputed leader among the men. It was his third major title of 2023, the first time a male player has won three of the four slams on four occasions.
At a time when most of Djokovic's longtime rivals have either retired or struggling to attain peak physical conditioning of their bodies, Djokovic has never been fitter . According to Mouratoglou, Djokovic's body is "extremely young" for someone...

Holger Rune 's mother, Aneke Rune, has shed light on the growing discourse about her son abandoning her customary hat while playing tennis matches.
Those watching the Swiss Indoors have noticed that Holger Rune is playing without an important piece of apparel that has defined his look on the court - a backward cap. Having lost 10 of his last 11 matches, Rune was forced to press the reset button, and that involved ditching his signature hat.
It served as a good omen as Rune won his opening match against Miomir Kecmanovic (in which he took it off and has not worn since), before backing up that success with a dominant victory over Sebastian Baez. It was the first time he had won back-to-back matches on tour since early July at Wimbledon.
Rune gave an interesting admission about making such changes when fans curiously wanted to know. The Dane explained that it was too hot inside St.

Holger Rune has a new man at the helm of the coaching chair, which has raised speculation on what exactly happened to the man before him, Lars Christensen.
The story between Rune and Christensen dates back to when the Danish tennis star was only six years old. Christensen has fast-tracked Rune's rise into the upper echelons of men's tennis, where he is entrenched in the world's Top 10 in the Atp Rankings.
But that was until this year when Rune decided to retain French coach Patrick Mouratoglou. By Rune's own admission when he first joined Mouratoglou's academy in his teenage years was that Christensen didn't have international exposure as a coach.
So when the opportunity to appoint Serena Williams' ex-coach arose, he grabbed it with both hands. But having Mouratoglou and Christensen wasn't all that effective in the long run, as Rune's mother would reveal, that the two coaches' egos clashed...

Paul Annacone called Holger Rune 's recent alliance with six-time former Grand Slam champion Boris Becker a "match made in heaven", but remained skeptical on whether it will work.
Annacone, a former Atp pro himself with a career-high ranking of No. 12 during his playing, and a very successful tennis coach, has worked with retired major champions like Pete Sampras and Roger Federer and knows the blueprint of what makes a partnership successful.
Annacone's principles about coaching are not solely reliant on hiring a big-name coach, but it is whether there is chemistry between player and coach. A few weeks ago, Holger Rune confirmed the appointment of Boris Becker to replace Patrick Mouratoglou in a bid to end his slump on the Atp Tour.
Rune had won once in his last 11 matches across all competitions and was left with no choice but to part ways with Serena Williams' former coach in...

Holger Rune is hoping to have a similar success to what Boris Becker brought to Novak Djokovic when he coached him years ago.
Becker and Djokovic were a pretty good tandem, winning a couple of trophies together, and Rune hopes to see similar success. The surprise move to hire Becke r came out of nowhere, especially since Rune just recently split up with Patrick Mouratoglou.
That breakup made it seem like Rune was going back to his coach full-time , but it seems like he had already settled on Becker as somebody who is familiar to him. The German will join Rune in Basel, which will be their first official Atp event together, and ahead of it, the Dane spoke about the former legendary player.
It's great to learn from players like (Boris) and from Rafa (Nadal), Roger (Federer) and Novak. It would be good to steal a bit from what they did.

Holger Rune confirmed six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker as his newest coach, at least until the end of the 2023 season.
The 55-year-old infamously served eight months behind bars in the United Kingdom for concealing £2.5m worth of assets and loans to avoid paying debts. Becker was found guilty on four counts under the Insolvency Act and was supposed to serve two and half years in jail.
But he was freed in mid-December 2022 and deported from the UK after getting approval for a fast-track deportation program, which allows foreign citizens to be deported if certain conditions are fulfilled. Consequently, he did not serve the full prison sentence.
Under the terms of his early release, Becker will not be allowed in the UK before October 2024, ruling him out from taking part at the Wimbledon Championships next year should his partnership with Rune extend beyond this season.
