Michael Gamilla
Michael Gamilla was the programming director for ImageOUT, a critically acclaimed LGBTQ+ film festival in Rochester, New York, USA from 2003 until the time of his death on March 8, 2023. At ImageOUT, Michael took what was a small local film festival and grew it into an internationally revered festival. He served on the juries for multiple international film festivals including the Teddy Awards. He was born in Manila, the Philippines, and moved to Rochester, New York with his family as an adult.
In 2022, Michael was awarded the ImageOUT Lifetime Achievement Award during celebrations for the festival's 30th anniversary. In addition, Michael was awarded the title of Grand Marshal for Rochester's annual Pride Parade in the summer of 2022.
Michael was known for a fabulous sense of style highlighted by his colorful and "sassy" wardrobe and demeanor.
