In the interest of time, I skipped out on the "Amazing Race" exit interview circuit, a decision I often regretted. I'd have loved to ask Lisa & Michelle about shoving and hypocrisy, or talk to Shelley & Nici about how their existing relationship hurt them out there or to discuss whether Kym & Alli felt annoyed at a surfing task being their demise. I was more than happy, though, to rejoin the circuit to talk to the "Amazing Race" finale, especially when the victors turned out to be Food Scientists Amy & Maya, a pair I grew to really root for during the Race. No, Maya & Amy weren't the strongest team. In fact, they made it to the end without winning any of the first 11 Legs and only a "Keep on Racing..." Leg in Manila kept them around. But even if they seemed physically unlikely -- especially with a prior injury forcing Amy to...

Last time on The Amazing Race, teams braved challenges in Morocco that ranged from milking a goat and making goat cheese by hand to zip lining over the canyons of the Atlas Mountains. Oh, you know, just an average day for most of us, right?
Misti and Jim finished first, allowing Jim's ego to once again swell to epic proportions. Mother and daughter duo Shelley and Nici Porter, who were well-known for both their spats and constantly getting lost, were the last to arrive at the mat, and were eliminated from The Amazing Race. So who will take the lead in this leg of the race? Let's find out!

Last week "The Amazing Race" castoffs Keith and Whitney told Gold Derby that Shelley and Nici "made no strategic sense" in using the U-Turn against them. When we sat down with Shelley following her "Amazing Race" exit, we asked her about that controversial decision that cost Keith and Whitney their game. (Nici was going to join us, but like a true "Amazing Race" player she got stuck on a plane.) "Everyone seems to think that the smarter strategic choice would have been to U-Turn the dentists [Misti and Jim]. But from our point of view, there was no point or benefit to U-Turning a team if you're not sure where they are," Shelley explained. "You only get one. You need it to count. U-Turning the dentists at that stage was a gamble [Nici] and I couldn't afford to make." -Break- Psst: Here's how to predict reality TV shows and win bragging rights And prizes!

Embargos and NDAs aside, in four or five months, I'll be able to let readers know why it was so amusing to me that "The Amazing Race" spent a second consecutive Leg traveling through Morocco on Friday (October 31) night. That amusement held sway even though Friday's Leg was, as we've almost come to expect from "The Amazing Race" this season, a mixed bag of really good tasks, confusingly confusing tasks and gratuitously complicated tasks. It was a Leg that made me build more appreciation for the teams I already liked, gave a couple unexpected stars the chance to shine, but also failed to generate even an iota of tension or excitement surrounding its result. But I liked the scenery, I liked the Greeter with the chicken on his head and I'm sure that this "Amazing Race" episode set a record for most goat teat close-ups. And, staring down an impressive wall of exhaustion,...

Last time on The Amazing Race, Keith Tollefson and his fianc??e Whitney Duncan, were accused of playing dirty by mother and daughter duo, Shelley and Nici Porter. What was the issue? Keith waited in line to receive a clue without his team mate by his side, which is against the rules. This outraged Shelley and Nici, who were both there. Keith refused to move, and a new feud was born!
At the U-Turn, Shelley and Nici enjoyed a bit of revenge and U-Turned Keith and Whitney. The couple was unable to make up for lost time, and Keith and Whitney were eliminated from The Amazing Race. So who will take the lead in this leg of the race? Let's find out!

Shelley and Nici have the best odds (4 to 1) to be booted off "The Amazing Race" tonight, according to the latest predictions by Gold Derby users. This mother/daughter team has battled for five episodes now and their time may well be up. However, beware: they may not be the best wager for you to make, strategically speaking, when placing your own predictions at Gold Derby aiming to win our prizes (cash, a chance to chat directly with 'Amazing Race' contestants) and earn an honored place at the top of our official leaderboards of smartest reality TV prophets. -Break- Consider Brooke and Robbie as an option to wager on, for example. Because they have longer odds (8 to 1), you may earn more game points while competing against other Derbyites -- that is, assuming Brooke and Robbie screw up again as they've done so often in the past. These pro wrestlers...

As Season 25 of "The Amazing Race" continues to heat up the globe, Gold Derby Executive Editor Paul Sheehan and I sat down to discuss the season so far. Who do we love? Who do we hate? And most importantly: Who are we predicting to win this season? Scroll down to see our Q&A. -Break- Psst: Here's how to predict reality TV shows and win bragging rights And prizes! Marcus: Hey Paul! So, let's get right down to the controversy surrounding Shelley and Nici. Some people really love this mother-daughter team from Michigan. I'm not one of them. As supposed "fans" of the show, they're playing the game like loose cannons, making enemies along the way and fighting with each other whenever possible. Is there anything redeemable about this irritating couple, or are they a complete train wreck? Paul: I don't think we can appreciate the stress under which these teams operate.

Have you made your predictions yet as to what will happen on this week's episode of "The Amazing Race"? Which of the remaining seven teams will be last to the mat? That is just one of four questions we want you to answer. To help you out, consider our official odds that come from the rankings of other "Race" fans just like you. We have battling mother/daughter Shelley and Nici as the most likely to go at 9 to 2. But are we being too forgiving of the past mistakes made by pro wrestlers Brooke and Robbie? -Break- We have them ranked as the fourth most likely team to be eliminated (with odds of 8/1). But remember, this season has seen its share of surprises already. Just last week, Keith and Whitney finished last, even though our users had them in the same fourth slot as Brooke and Robbie this week. Ahead...

Keith and Whitney, the most recent team to be ousted from "The Amazing Race," are still wondering why Shelley and Nici wasted the U-turn on them. During my recent chat with these newlyweds, who met on "Survivor" three years ago, Whitney criticized these self-proclaimed "superfans" for not U-turning Misti and Jim. As she explained, that would have forced this highly competitive team to use the Save they won in the first episode. Listen to our very revealing conversation below. -Break- Were you as surprised as Keith and Whitney were by the outcome of last Friday's episode? One mat spat was all it took to get Keith and Whitney eliminated from The Amazing Race. While waiting for a clue, the Survivor alums got into it with Shelley and Nici, who weren't going to let bygones be bygones: The mother-daughter duo U-Turned Keith and Whitney, who struggled through the hat-tassel-twirling Detour. "I regret talking back to [Shelley]," Keith tells TVGuide.com. "I was just caught in the moment ... and as soon as I saw there was a U-Turn, I knew they would use it on us." Check out what else the couple has to say about the fight, postponing their wedding for the show and howRace compares to Survivor.

Last time on The Amazing Race, we saw some teams melt down as another team's performance level went way, way down. Nici fell on her way to the mat, and had a melt-down after bickering with her mother, Shelley, during this entire leg of the race.
Alli and Kym reached the Pit Stop first, and claimed first place. Misti and Jim, who had a disastrous time on every challenge, arrived last and presented Phil with The Save. This was, in fact, a non-elimination leg of CBS' The Amazing Race, so they got to keep The Save and keep on racing. Was I a tiny bit disappointed? Yes, I was. Perhaps this lesson will help Jim with his ego (probably not). So who will take the lead on this leg of The Amazing Race? Let's find out!

Oh, come on. I'm doing a slew of set visits in Vancouver and I started watching "The Amazing Race" after midnight and within 20 minutes, it was clear that nobody was going home on Friday's (October 17) episode. Nope. You can't make your entire episode into an semi-altruistic showcase, essentially a joint commercial for Ford hybrids and Danish eco-consciousness and then send somebody home. Nope, this was an episode about good feelings for both a country trying to do well by Mother Earth and a company paying "The Amazing Race" to talk about its automotive advancements. But then, to make matters worse, it became clear based on the editing -- and based on a week of very spoilery editing -- that this was the week that Jim's hubris would finally catch up with previously formidable Team Dentist. Actually, it had always been Jim's hubris that ran the risk of cursing the Dentists,...

[This recap of Friday (October 3) night's "The Amazing Race" may be a bit rushed. I've got some Yom Kippur atoning to do. But I still want to do some honor to a decent enough Leg.] As you may have heard from a unshaven, drunk, pot-belled WWII era manager, there is no crying in baseball. Nobody has ever made the same claim about "The Amazing Race." In actuality, there's a lot of crying on "The Amazing Race." And I'm not entirely without understanding. Let's say you're an "Amazing Race" superfan and you've actually taken the time to study Race strategy and accumulate some of the skills that normally pay dividends and then you find yourself actually on "The Amazing Race" and in only your second Leg, you find yourself falling victim to a semi-unavoidable combination of current and lack of upper-body strength? I guess I can allow for some sniffling, especially if your commitment to remaining in...

The Amazing Race is not for the faint of heart... or the proud, judging by Nici's willingness to make herself right at home in the River Thames just to get ahead of the competition. Mother-daughter duo Shelley and Nici have clearly learned from those who came before them. (May we never forget when sisters Kisha and Jen Hoffman were eliminated in Season 14 because the call of nature was too strong for Jen to resist.) Watch this exclusive clip from tonight's episode to see how Nici holds up to the question that's plagued humankind since the creation of indoor plumbing:...

It's going to take a while before this feels normal, isn't it? Friday (September 28) marked a new time period premiere for "The Amazing Race," which kicked off its 25th installment far from the Sunday 8 p.m. home in which viewers have become accustomed to football/golf/basketball delays throughout the year. That means that instead of having Sunday come to an abrupt end in the late afternoon as I wait for "The Amazing Race" to start, a normal Friday workday just never ends. So... Yay! Friday's "Amazing Race" premiere had the disadvantage of following a very good "Survivor" launch on Wednesday. I say it every year, but there's just not enough time in a single hour to properly introduce a full assortment of reality show contestants and also deliver satisfactory and fun challenges. So Wednesday's "Survivor" got to be 90 minutes and, perhaps as a result, I finished the premiere with...
