Tis the season to be scary and Screambox has got you covered with a trio of brand-spanking-new Christmas-themed horror movies that go perfectly with cookies and milk in front of a warm fire.
Now streaming on Screambox from the director of Jason Goes to Hell is Secret Santa and the awesomely creepy anthology Night of the Missing.
That’s not all! Just in time for Christmas break, Santastein will make the long winter’s nights anything but silent on Dec. 19.
Since Black Christmas, holiday films have been a refreshing sub-genre within horror. These films offer a much-needed contrast to the “all is well” narrative that is so often depicted in seasonal films. The angst and anxiety of holiday horror offer a cathartic release because for many the holidays are not perfect, and we don’t see ourselves in the yuletide rom-coms.

“America’s Got Talent” is TV’s only competition show that embraces all forms of variety acts, whether you’re a singer, a comedian, a magician or anything in between. Throughout its nearly two decades years on the air, seven singers have claimed victory with the others being a mix of ventriloquists, magicians, etc. (See the “AGT” winners list.) However, there are four specific variety acts that have yet to win the top prize of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas. Can any of these acts make history during Season 16 finale on September 15?

“America’s Got Talent” has gone through many different facelifts at the judging panel, but one person has stayed put for the past 11 seasons: Howie Mandel. This Canadian comedian originally joined up with NBC’s reality TV show in Season 5, where he had big shows to fill as David Hasselhoff‘s replacement. Howie sat beside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne for two seasons, with Howard Stern stepping in for Piers in Season 7 and Heidi Klum & Mel B taking over for Sharon in Season 8.
Over the past decade Howie has made a name for himself as the funniest and wildest panelist, but also someone with a keen eye for talent. In fact, his Golden Buzzer Grace VanderWaal ended up winning Season 11 and becoming one of the most successful “Agt” acts of all time. Below, see our four reasons why Howie Mandel is simply the best judge on “America’s Got Talent.”

Three of the 12 finalists on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” — daredevils Deadly Games, singer Brian Justin Crum and rock opera soloist Cristina Ramos — joined forces for a jaw-dropping performance on the February 18 finale. Watch these four talented artists in the video above. Crum and Ramos belt out the Queen classic “The Show Must Go On” while Deadly Games does their most daring knife act ever.
Deadly Games got the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum when they auditioned in the second episode of this spin-off of “Agt.” That sent husband and wife team Alfredo and Anna Silva straight through to the final. Among the other acts on the bill that night was Ramos, who had won “Spain’s Got Talent” in 2016 for her wild mash-ups of rock and opera.
The superfans were so taken with Ramos that they voted to put her to the final over singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer.

Everybody just went crazy.”

In 2015, stand-up comedian Drew Lynch was ‘Golden Buzzered’ straight to the live rounds of America’s Got Talent Season 10 after impressing judge Howie Mandel with his skills. Lynch ended up coming in second place that year, and since his memorable run on the show, he’s made a career on YouTube. On the platform, he’s netted himself more than 1.6 million subscribers, and he garners between three and five million views per month with his series Dog Vlog (weekly vlogs about life with his loyal service dog Stella) and Therapy Dog (an animated series featuring guest voice stars including Brandon Rogers and Molly Burke).
Lynch, who has a stutter after being injured during a softball game in 2012, regularly pokes fun at himself in his YouTube videos — where he often gives Stella dryly witty captions matching her somewhat unimpressed resting face -- and in his stand-up routines. Along with producing YouTube videos each week,...

You’d think there’d be a strong correlation on “America’s Got Talent” between which act performs Last during the Finals and who ends up being named the winner, as that act would be freshest in voters’ minds. But amazingly, the opposite is true. Over the course of all 12 seasons of “Agt,” only two acts went on to win the $1 million prize after being given the plum spot in the finale: Season 11’s singer-songwriter/ukuleleist Grace VanderWaal and Season 7’s animal act Olate Dogs. Is there a curse for acts who perform last during the Finals?
VanderWaal and Olate Dogs were heavy favorites heading into the respective finales, so it’s possible producers gave them the final position as a way to boost their visibility. But many acts in other years have also been the frontrunners to win and producers chose not to place them last. Ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer...

Just behind horror, believe it or not, my second favourite genre of film is ‘Christmas’. I will watch anything if it has a Christmas theme or is set at that time of year. So obviously when these two genres mix, I am over the moon! And there’s plenty of great Christmas horror movies out there. Even in the last few years we’ve had Krampus, A Christmas Horror Story and Better Watch Out. And I was hoping Secret Santa would be added to the list of films I will watch once a year.

With the audition round of America's Got Talent's 10th anniversary season in the books, it's time for the revamped Judge Cuts portion of the competition. It replaces (and is superior to, I think) Judgment Week, which had to be renamed because this process will last several of those.
Judges Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, Mel B. and Heidi Klum have narrowed down the advancing acts to their Top 80, and four shows of 20 performances each with seven acts moving on will pare down the group to 28. Those acts will join stuttering comedian Drew Lynch, contemporary dance duo Freckled Sky, gospel singer Sharon Irving and 11-year-old opera singer Arielle Baril -- the Golden Buzzer recipients -- on the stage at Radio City Music Hall for the live shows.
