Amid a climate crisis that is seeing record heat temperatures broken around the globe, The Redford Center has announced the 12 filmmaking teams who are winners of its Environmental Impact Film grants for 2022-2023. The center — the environmental media nonprofit founded in 2005 by Robert Redford and his late son James Redford — provides funding biannually to a select group of cinematic storytellers who focus on environmental justice, intersectional themes and solutions that improve the health of the planet.

Six documentary and narrative industry mentors join select Siff audience to offer feedback on two projects.
Seattle International Film Festival (Siff) has announced the six industry mentors chosen for the virtual New Works-in-Progress Forum on April 15 and 16.
The 2021 Wip mentors for documentary are: funder-consultant Cecilia Lidin, film consultant Harry Vaughn, and producer Giedré Žickyté.
The 2021 Wip mentors for narrative are: journalist-programmer David Ansen, producer-distributor Sophie Mathisen, and film festival consultant and Screen International contributing editor, Nordic correspondent and former editor Wendy Mitchell.
The six industry mentors will combine with a select Siff audience to watch projects in the final stages of editing and provide feedback.

The 2020 Palm Springs International ShortFest announced its juried award winners from the 332 shorts films that were part of the Official Selection.
Awards and cash prizes worth $25,000, including five Academy Award qualifying awards, will be presented to the winners. The winner of these awards may be eligible to submit their short to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Oscar consideration.
The festivals is designated by AMPAS, BAFTA, Bifa and Goya Awards as an award-qualifying festival and accredited by the International Short Film Conference. More information is at www.psfilmfest.org.
