Creed’s Summer of ’99 cruise boarded in Miami on Thursday (April 18th), and the reunited band didn’t waste any time delivering their first concert in 12 years. Scott Stapp and company rocked a 16-song set for the thrilled passengers.
The band — featuring original members Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips, Brian Marshall, along with touring guitarist Eric Friedman — opened the set appropriately with the song “Are You Ready?” They proceeded to play favorites such as “Torn,” “My Own Prison,” “Weathered,” and “Faceless Man.”

The main set ended with the one-two punch of the sing-along anthems “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher,” after which Stapp led the crowd in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Tremonti, who turned 50 years old today. The band then returned for an encore of “One Last Breath” and “My Sacrifice.”

Creed are reuniting for a massive tour in 2024, but what about new music? In a new interview, singer Scott Stapp discusses the possibility of the band writing and recording new songs.
“[Guitarist] Mark [Tremonti] and I were together a couple days ago doing something like, some secret thing I can’t share,” Stapp told host Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation. “But we were hanging out for a couple days and as we were hanging out, we just began talking about how we wrote [our 1999 album] Human Clay, and we wrote Human Clay while on the road touring My Own Prison.”
He continued, “And we wrote it at, during soundchecks, 80%, 90% of that record was written on stage during soundcheck. And you know what we’d do? We’d write a song and we’d get it tight and play it within three or four days of writing it, because we didn’t have...

Mark Tremonti is best known as the guitarist for Alter Bridge and Creed, but he’s also proven himself to be quite the crooner.
The veteran rocker is set to release a collection of holiday and Christmas standards titled Christmas Classics New & Old on October 27th, and he’s now shared the opening track, a rendition of “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
Tremonti sings a graceful version of the ubiquitous holiday-season anthem alongside a jovial horn section, proving why he has become a renowned Frank Sinatra interpreter in his downtime from Alter Bridge.
Last year’s covers album, Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra, received acclaim for its faithful and accomplished renderings of Sinatra staples and even led to a series of “Tremonti Sings Sinatra” concerts, including three that are set for January 2024: January 5th; January 6th; and January 13th.

It’s summertime, but don’t tell that to Mark Tremonti. The Alter Bridge and Creed guitarist has announced his first-ever holiday album, titled Christmas Classics New & Old.
The new release sees Tremonti singing and performing nine holiday classics and one original song. For the LP, Tremonti teamed up with the same orchestra that played on his recent Frank Sinatra covers album. Christmas Classics New & Old arrives October 27th, and is now available for pre-order here.
As for some of the holiday classics, Tremonti puts his own spin on traditional songs such as “Jingle Bells,” “The First Noel,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “O Holy Night” and more. His original holiday song is called “Christmas Morning” and features piano and a marching band.
In other news, Creed recently announced a reunion for their first shows in more than a decade. The performances will take place on the Summer of ’99 Cruise,...

Creed are getting back together to headline the Summer of ’99 Cruise in 2024. They’ll be joined by fellow hit-making bands of the era, including 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, Tonic, Fuel, and more.
It’s been more than a decade since Creed played a show, with their last gig taking place in December 2012 as they capped off their first reunion tour. The band had broken up in 2004, but got back together in 2009. They’ve been on hiatus ever since that final 2012 show.
The Summer of ’99 Cruise will set sail aboard the Norwegian Pearl on April 18th from Miami, and travel to Nassau, Bahamas, before returning on April 22nd. Joining the aforementioned acts on the boat will be Vertical Horizon, The Verve Pipe, Tantric, Dishwalla, Nine Days, and Veruca Salt’s Louise Post. Radio personality Eddie Trunk and the stars of Axs TV’s The Power Hour (including Matt Pinfield) will serve as hosts of the cruise.
