Bring Me the Horizon have unveiled the new song “Kool-Aid,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Post Human: NeX GEn.
While not as crushing as the band’s early deathcore years, the song hits hard compared to some of the UK act’s more recent pop-inspired output. Singer Oli Sykes goes full-scream mode at certain points in the track, as he sings over some heavy riffage.
Post Human: NeX GEn was originally set to arrive in September 2023, but was indefinitely delayed. A new press release states that the album will “be released this year, with the official release date forthcoming.”
“Kool-Aid” is the first song Bring Me the Horizon have released since announcing the departure of keyboardist/programmer Jordan Fish in late December. It’s unclear if he played on the track, but a new band photo (see above) accompanying the song doesn’t include Fish.

Yungblud has released a new in-your-face, retro-themed video for his single “Happier,” which features Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes.
Filmed in Tokyo, the music video showcases the two artists yelling at the top of their lungs to karaoke lyrics, playing arcade machines, and rocking out on a crowded dance floor.
“Happier” is a chaotic, yet cathartic release compared to the artist’s “Hated,” which takes a darker turn. “Hated” looks at the lasting trauma Yungblud experienced following alleged sexual abuse as a child. In the music video, a...

Bring Me the Horizon have announced their seventh full-length studio album, Post Human: NeX GEn, arriving September 15th via Columbia Records.
The news comes after a string of singles from the UK band: “DIE4u,” “sTraNgeRs,” “LosT,” and “AmEN!” It’s undetermined if those song will be included on the new album (the tracklist is pending), though the wonky capitalization in the titles implies they are likely part of the same collection.
The band used an immersive augmented-reality approach to announcing the album, offering fans a series of clues and riddles that eventually led to a secret building, The Church of Genxsis, which was on site at the Download Festival alongside Bmth’s appearance at the UK fest this past weekend. Once inside, fans experienced “a variety of immersive Genxsis rituals, including face branding, a sermon and tarot readings as they completed their journey to becoming members.”

Bring Me the Horizon have released a new song called “AmEN!” featuring rapper Lil Uzi Vert and Glassjaw’s Daryl Palumbo. The song comes a week before Bmth’s headlining appearance at Download Festival in the UK.
“AmEN!” explodes with intense screams and an explosion of guitars and drums, as it features rapped verses by Lil Uzi Vert and dual vocals by Palumbo and Bmth vocalist Oli Sykes, exclaiming, “So tell all your friends/ This is the end of everything/ Too late to repent/ The wicked will reap what they sow.”
“AmEN!” follows another recently released single, the pop-punk flavored “LosT,” which arrived in early May. Of the two, “AmEN!” is certainly the heavier cut.
Look for Bring Me the Horizon to take both new songs on the road later this month when they kick off their North American tour supporting Fall Out Boy at the end of this month.

Bring Me the Horizon have shard the new song “LosT,” the latest track in their ongoing Post Human series.
The band’s sound has certainly evolved from its deathcore beginnings, with “LosT” being a feisty blast of anthemic pop-punk — perhaps a nod to Bmth’s upcoming tourmates in Fall Out Boy. The bands are set to hit the road together for a summer North American tour in June, and you can get tickets via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.
The single is accompanied by a cinematic music video starring a gored-up and bandaged Bmth frontman Oli Sykes, and featuring an appearance by actor Thomas Ian Nicholas (“Kevin” from American Pie). Jensen Noen directed the clip, which runs with the theme of Oli’s chorus refrain: “Stupid medicine not doing anything!”
Bring Me the Horizon have taken an alternative approach to new music since 2019’s Amo.

A cost-of-living crisis has hit Reading Festival. The age of the £15 burrito has dawned, and judging by the cost of the average greasy burger out in the main arena, you’d be within your rights to demand it served wrapped in gold leaf and salted down the forearm of a charlatan. The catering is priced, we’ll assume, to reflect the fact that Saturday represents what would once be a full weekend at Reading crushed into twelve hours. The traditional indie, metal and punk days piled on top of each other to be consumed in quick-fire bites.
On the morning of the festival, organisers Festival Republic are still cramming on suitable acts like expensive and unnecessary burger toppings. Hardcore screamers Wargasm turn up unexpectedly to open Main Stage East and Pendulum announce a secret set in the dance stage. Back on the advertised programme, in early afternoon both The Sherlocks...

Grimes adds an eerie edge to Bring Me the Horizon’s “Nihilist Blues,” a single from the band’s upcoming sixth LP, Amo.
The art-pop singer appears in the second verse and chorus of the electro-track, balancing out Oliver Sykes’ silky falsetto with an a alluring creepiness. “Light as a feather, stiff as a board/Sink to the floor; I sink to the floor,” she whispers over the rumbling synths, referencing the famous levitation game.
Later on, Grimes adds in a breathy coo, “You were in my dream last night,...
