Jessica Palmarozza was born in London to a Dutch mother and an Italian-American father. She trained as a producer at the offices of writer / director Sally Potter for four years, before starting her own company, Flumeri Films, in 2021. Within two years of launching, Jessica completed five short films. The films screened at over 50 festivals, including LFF, Aesthetica, Frameline 46 in San Francisco, Outfest Fusion & the Pan African Film Festival in LA. Her films have won awards including Best LGBTQI+ Film (NEIFF), the Jury Award (Tels Quels), Best Actor (Little Wing), Best UK Short (Nottingham), Best Editing (Fastnet) , Best Cinematography (Wolverhampton), Audience Award (Barnes) and Best First Time Director (Florence Film Wards). All of the films are either BIFA, BAFTA or Oscar qualifying.
Since launching Flumeri, Jessica has raised over £100K in financing for her slate, receiving funding from the BFI Network three times (Film Hub North, NI Screen and Film London). She specialises in queer storytelling, with a particular fascination for the surreal.
She has BA and MA degrees in English Literature from the University of Oxford and UCL and is based in London.
