Érica Ramos Sarmet is a writer and director born in 1990 in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Sarmet has written and directed two short films: "Latifúndio" (2017) and the award-winning "A Wild Patience Has Taken Me Here (2021). PhD Candidate in Film Studies at University of São Paulo, she has a Bachelor's degree in Media and Cultural Studies and a MA in Communication. Founder partner at the production company Excesso Filmes, she is also co-founder of Quase Catálogo, a film club dedicated to works by women and trans filmmakers. At the moment, Sarmet is dedicated to her research as Visiting PhD Scholar at New York University and finishing the short films "Vollúpya" and "If I'm Here It Is By Mystery", both to be released in 2024.
