The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has announced the Lifetime Achievement Award honorees for this year’s Daytime Emmys: “The Young and the Restless” actress Melody Thomas Scott, her producer husband Edward J. Scott and renowned TV chef Lidia Bastianich.
Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS, said in an official statement, “We’ve long wanted to honor the legendary daytime duo of Melody Thomas Scott and her husband Edward J. Scott. With a combined 93 years of contributions to our community, they are true institutions in the world of daytime television. In addition, Lidia Bastianich’s astounding success combines her love of cooking while simultaneously entertaining millions each day. It is an honor for us to say ‘grazie’ for the many fine meals borne from her TV kitchen and cookbook pages.”

Actress Melody Thomas Scott and her real-life husband, producer Edward J. Scott, will be recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award during “The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” it was announced on Monday. Public television host and cookbook author Lidia Bastianich will also be honored.

Updated, 7:40 Pm: HBO Max (now Max), National Geographic and Prime Video were among the big winners on the second of two nights for the 44th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. Presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the trophies for the documentary categories were handed out tonight at the Palladium Times Square in New York City.
Nat Geo’s Retrograde won for Outstanding Current Events Documentary, and Netflix’s In Her Hands took the Politics and Government category.
