The "Suits" renaissance continues over at Netflix where viewers are continuing to binge eight seasons of the legal drama at an alarming rate. There are actually nine seasons of "Suits" in total, but fans will have to go elsewhere to see how things wrap up, at least for the time being. At the end of season 7, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) travels to Chicago after his former partner Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) left their law firm, Pearson Darby Specter, to work as a fixer for newly elected Mayor, Bobby Novak (Morgan Spector). The dark history of Chicago politics is filled with backroom deals orchestrated by corrupt politicians that could make for compelling TV, leading the USA Network to greenlight the "Suits" spinoff "Pearson."
Hoping to expand on the success of "Suits" and capitalize on Torres' beaming star power, "Pearson" struggled to find the same success and was unceremoniously canceled after just one season.

It's hard to believe that a show that ended almost four years ago is delivering this much buzz.
But it shows that some of the most binge-able shows can get a renaissance years after they've ended.
Suits amassed another 3.7 billion minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock.
A split for the streaming platforms has not been revealed, but the first eight seasons of Suits became available on June 17 on Netflix.
Make of that what you will. Peacock hasn't revealed if having exclusivity over Suits Season 9 has paved the way for a rise in sign-ups.
Suits is killing it for an acquired title, coming in well ahead of streaming original The Lincoln Lawyer (1.28 billion minutes viewed).
The news certainly bodes well for a revival, movie, or reboot, but it's hard to determine whether any of the cast would be interested.
Meghan Markle, who was missing from the last two seasons, probably wouldn't...

Over the last few years, Suits has become a show that generally focuses on people gunning for the firm and everyone associated with it before a random plot development helps save the day.
If Suits Season 9 Episode 1 is anything to go by, then we're in for more of the same over a lengthier arc.
They do say that you should give storylines time to breathe, but something about the New York Bar going after the firm feels a bit repetitive.
Donna: Rachel, call me as soon as you get this. It happened. And by it, I mean ... oh, shit. I gotta go.
Harvey: Who was that?
Donna: No one. Rachel.
Harvey: You told her, didn't you?
Donna: No, yeah.
Harvey: Well, in that case, I hope she listens to her messages before Mike because I just left him a doozy.
Donna: What? I didn't authorize you to do that. Wait,...

Actor Patrick J. Adams will return for the ninth and final season of "Suits".
Adams will reprise his role as Mike Ross at mid-season to get involved in a case that will put him toe to toe with his former mentor Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl), reports an agency.
Adams previously starred on the hit series but departed the show in its seventh season. The show is aired in India on Colors Infinity.
In the beginning of the series, Ross was able to impress Specter with his encyclopedic knowledge of the law despite never having officially passed the bar, securing Ross a position at Specter's law firm. Suits will be bringing back an original series regular before the legal drama comes to a close.
According to Deadline, Patrick J. Adams will reprise the role of Mike Ross on Suits Season 9 Episode 5.
His return will put him up against his best friend, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Samantha Wheeler.
“He doesn’t exactly know that Samantha is going to be involved when he comes back, but he does know Harvey is going to be,” Aaron Korsh told the website.
On top of that, there will be “some fun scenes and some emotional scenes with Mike and the old gang. He will interact with more than Harvey and Samantha.”

Patrick J. Adams will return to USA’s “Suits” for its ninth and final season, USA Network told TheWrap.
He is set to reprise his role as Mike Ross, the on-screen husband of Rachel Zane, who was played by the now-Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. Per the cable channel, Adams will come back mid-season to get involved in a case that puts him toe to toe with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl).
Ross — and thus, Adams — left the series at the end of Season 7 to move to Seattle with Rachel. When TheWrap asked USA if Markle will return, the net referred us to series creator Aaron Korsch’s pretty consistent remarks about that popular question. Basically, she’s always welcome back — but don’t hold your breath.

Actress Katherine Heigl has been cast as the female lead in the comedy pilot "Our House". The show centres around a devoted mom and dad, who are committed to raising their children with the love and support the mom never got as a child, but discover how difficult that is with her insane parents and siblings back in the picture, reports variety.com. Heigl will play Bridget, who tries her best to be a laid-back, progressive parent like her therapist husband, Shawn (played by actor Malcolm Barrett), but often finds herself reverting to the old school style of her parents.
Now that she's moved back into her childhood home, surrounded by her parents and crazy siblings, finding a balance between these wildly different parenting styles becomes increasingly difficult for her.

Now it's back for an eighth season, but Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle have departed for greener pastures (and palaces). How will the cast changes affect the Nielsen numbers? Will Suits be cancelled or renewed for season nine? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

That may well be the last we'll ever see of Dana Scott.
Suits Season 8 Episode 14 brought Abigail Spencer back into the mix as Harvey's ex-girlfriend and powerhouse lawyer.
While it was exciting to meet the character one last time, by the end of the hour, I couldn't help but shake the feeling she was reintroduced as a mere plot device to kickstart the Darvey train once again.
If you've been keeping up with my reviews of late, then you know I couldn't give a damn about whether Donna and Harvey become a thing again.
Too much time has passed with teases, and I'm starting to dig Donna and Thomas. It would be cruel to pull them apart in favor of trying to make this 'Ship work again.
Scottie promising to steer clear of Harvey was telling. She's known for a long time there could be more than a friendship between them,...

It looks like the TV gods heard our prayers, because Suits just got renewed for its ninth season! The USA legal drama is set to air sometime in 2019, however, we do have some bad news: this will be the show's final run. The decision to end the series starring Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter) comes amid the announcement of creator Aaron Korsh's new spinoff, Pearson, starring Gina Torres (Jessica Pearson).
"Though I know it isn't true, it seems like only yesterday USA Network took a chance on an unestablished writer's very first hour long script. These days that's a common thing, but 47 years ago when I first wrote the untitled Korsh project, nobody did it," Korsh said in a statement. "To the exceptional writers, cast and crew - thank you for your passion and devotion, without which, Suits would be nothing. And last but never least, to the fans who...

One of USA Network’s signature series, Suits, will be coming to an end, but not before getting a final chapter. The network has renewed the legal drama for a 10-episode ninth season to air in summer 2019. The news comes ahead of Suits‘ Season 8 winter premiere tonight.
With the pickup, Suits, from Universal Cable Prods., will become the longest-running original scripted series on USA, edging a few shows that had aired for eight seasons. Its final episode count will be 134.
Created by Aaron Korsh, Suits, which debuted in 2011, was one of the last entries under USA’s previous programming strategy built around light procedurals. It rose to become the network’s most popular series for several years.
Following the exit of three of the original six series regulars in Seasons 6-7, Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, who married the British Prince Harry in a lavish wedding attended by her Suits family,...

In the Season 8 summer finale of USA Network’s Suits, Zane Specter Litt set off yet another name change. Faced with a potential internal civil war, Donna talked Robert Zane and Harvey Specter into accepting Louis Litt as managing partner while also convincing Louis — who had just found out that he’s going to be a father — to take on the leadership post. Litt’s first order of business was to make both Alex Williams and Samantha Wheeler name partners as the duo’s escalating battle for the position was threatening to tear the firm apart.
The back six episodes of Season 8, which are launching Wednesday night, will tackle the new power dynamic at Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams. It also will introduce Alex’s (Dule Hill) wife, played by How To Get Away with Murder‘s Tamberla Perry, as well as a new love triangle involving Donna and Harvey...

Donna Paulsen is getting a love interest in the back half of Suits Season 8.
Per Deadline, Grimm grad, Sasha Roiz has joined the USA Network legal drama as the new man in Donna's life.
Thomas Kessler is the mystery man's name, and he has been a client of the firm for quite a while thanks to his high-end furniture design company.
Donna steps in to help when Kessler shows up at the firm with an issue, but one thing leads to another, and they get closer to each other.
This casting will probably not go down well with fans who are still lobbying for Donna and Harvey to get together.
Despite several teases, their relationship can't seem to get past the platonic stage.

Looks like love is in the air for Donna (Sarah Rafferty) on USA’s Suits. Grimm alum Sasha Roiz is set for a recurring role as Thomas, Donna’s new love interest in the current eighth season of the drama series.
Roiz’s Thomas Kessler is the handsome and charming CEO of a high-end furniture design company that has been a longtime client of Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams. When he returns to the firm for help, Donna steps in to assist, but in doing so also catches his eye.
Season 8 picked up following the exits of Mike (Patrick Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle), who left for Seattle to head up a new law firm. After a string of mediocre installments, Suits Season 8 Episode 8 was a return to form.
It's difficult for a show to throw in new hurdles for the characters after eight seasons, but Louis' storyline got a much-needed jolt of life.
If you watch Suits online, you know we've witnessed his struggles as a teenager and an adult since the show kicked off all those years ago.
He's always in an ambivalent state of mind, but he oozed confidence when he and Sheila showed up at the appointment.
In true Suits fashion, it was one step forward, and two back for Louis when he realized the person helping him and Sheila get pregnant was the man who made his high school years a living hell.
The moment Chaz apologized about any bad blood, it was apparent we were going to watch Louis confront his emotions about what went down.

Samantha Wheeler is growing on me.
On Suits Season 8 Episode 2, she essentially went up against everyone at the firm, but her goal wasn't to discredit any of them, it was to prove her worth.
Through two episodes, she's proven to be resourceful, cunning, and most of all, surprising.
The addition of Katherine Heigl was a controversial one for Suits. Most fans worried the show was going to find itself in the cancellation heap because Heigl's two most recent series lasted just one season each before getting kicked to the curb.
There's no question -- Heigl has breathed new life into a series that ran in circles for the better part of two years.

Don’t let the smile fool you: Katherine Heigl‘s Suits lawyer Samantha Wheeler is getting off to a rocky start with Zane Specter Litt COO Donna Paulsen.
In this Wednesday’s episode (USA Network, 9/8c), the new addition finally comes face-to-face with the redhead, and let’s just say the two women won’t be going out for drinks any time soon.
“We totally get off on the wrong foot… but they have to,” Heigl tells TVLine. “Samantha is not going to walk into any room and give anybody the benefit of the doubt. It doesn’t matter who they are.

For those who thought losing both Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams would be the death knell for Suits, Suits Season 8 Episode 1 successfully put those fears to bed.
Suits has been on the air for a long time, and there's no denying that Suits Season 6 and Suits Season 7 featured some of the worst storytelling in the history of the series, so it was about time there was some change.
My biggest surprise on "Right-Hand Man" was that my favorite character was Katrina. If you watch Suits online, you know Amanda Schull spent much of her time on the periphery.
Katrina is very career-oriented, and if she associates with a firm, she wants to know they are following the correct procedures so that her name will not get dragged through the mud at some point.
It was difficult enough for her to agree to return after being fired, and of course,...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of tonight’s Suits Season 8 premiere.
Suits 2.0 launched tonight with the season premiere of USA Network series’ eighth season, the first without original co-stars Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle. The new opening sequence reflected the new setup — an ensemble legal drama led by Gabriel Macht and a regular cast featuring three original members, Macht, Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty, and three new ones, Katherine Heigl and newly promoted Dule Hill and Amanda Schull.
The Season 8 premiere established the battle lines at the newly merged Zane Specter Litt, with Harvey Specter (Macht) and Heigl’s Samantha Wheeler going at each other as part of a wager between Harvey and Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) over who will be managing partner. And while the managing partner question was answered by the end of the premiere, with Harvey handing the reins to Robert, the episode put Alex...

One thing is certain after Suits‘ Season 8 premiere: Katherine Heigl’s newbie addition Samantha Wheeler isn’t out to make friends at Specter Litt — excuse me, Zane Specter Litt.
Heigl makes her punchy debut as Robert Zane’s right-hand gal in a boxing ring, and it’s immediately clear that Samantha doesn’t answer to anyone. For example, she hasn’t shown up to the office because she assumed Robert would find her when he needed something cleaned up — and she was right. Following the merger, Harvey and Robert make a wager about their conflict-of-interest clients. Instead of picking a fight with Robert himself,...

Suits may have lost a few familiar faces this season, but they also gained a very familiar face. Katherine Heigl is about to make her debut as Samantha Wheeler, and based on everything we know and have seen so far, she's a force to be reckoned with. "She's sort of having fun with people all the time," the Grey's Anatomy alum told E! News when we visited the show's Toronto set. "She kind of walks into situations not taking it terribly seriously, unless you really cross her. Then she loses the smile and the smirk and she's all business." As the firm deals with a merger in the premiere, the big question a lot of characters are asking is "Who is...

When “Suits” returns for its eighth season this Wednesday, a lot has changed: Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams, and Meghan Markle are gone, and returning actors Dulé Hill (“Psych”) and Amanda Schull (“12 Monkeys”) have been upped to series regulars. But the biggest evolution may be the arrival of Katherine Heigl (“Grey’s Anatomy”) as Samantha Wheeler, a role that series creator Aaron Korsh wrote for her after discovering Heigl was a fan.
Heigl said she was attracted to the gig because Samantha “is a badass. She’s not to be trifled with,” Heigl told IndieWire. “That’s really fun too because playing a strong, powerful woman who can really kick ass in a room and not be afraid of the consequences and not be afraid of confrontation or conflict—things that I’m constantly worried about—it’s really freeing to do on set.”

You could call Katherine Heigl a Suits fangirl. In fact, the Grey’s Anatomy vet was such a huge lover of the USA Network drama, she sought out creator Aaron Korsh to collaborate on a different project, but eventually wound up with a series-regular gig on Season 8.
For Heigl, Suits‘ appeal lies in the “fearless” quality of its characters. “They’re really just confident and comfortable in their own skin,” she tells TVLine. “They have flaws, and they have insecurities, for sure, but they’re not afraid to push boundaries. They’re not afraid to push back.”

The lawyers of Pearson Specter Litt are putting their cards on the table in a newly released Suits poster.
The Season 8 key art features the show’s revamped cast partaking in a game of poker. Former stars Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle‘s seats have been filled by new series regular Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) and Amanda Schull, who is now a full-time player as lawyer Katrina Bennett. Judging by the image, Heigl’s Samantha Wheeler — a powerhouse attorney who muscles her way into the firm and challenges the status quo — can hold her own just fine at her new digs.

Have you been wondering what the firm will be named on Suits Season 8?
If so, then the new teaser for the upcoming season has the answer for you.
Drum roll, please...The name of the firm is...
Zane Specter Litt.
It has a certain ring to it, but at the same time, it's also pretty self-explanatory.
Robert Zane joined the firm at the close of Suits Season 7, and with Jessica's name taken off the board, it was obvious there would be an overhaul on the horizon.
The most surprising part about it is that new partner, Samantha Wheeler's (Katherine Heigl) name is nowhere in sight.
That might be something that's being saved for later in the season if she strikes a chord with viewers.
The teaser also seemingly gives us some more intel about why Wheeler is part of the firm, and it looks like it's all thanks to Robert.

Suits is back in session sooner than you may think.
The hit legal drama will return for its eighth season Wednesday, July 18 on USA Network.
As previously reported, Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams are out after seven seasons, and Katherine Heigl has been drafted in to fill the void.
Heigl will take on the role of Samantha Wheeler, who may become the firm's biggest adversary.
Something tells us there will be much drama at first, and then the dust will settle and Samantha will prove to be an asset to the team.

USA Network has also released a new trailer, and it sure looks like everyone at the firm does not want anything to do with Heigl's character.
It's always difficult when firms go through transitional periods, and Psl (or whatever the cool kids call it these days!) has been through a lot of them.

Just as our hearts were breaking over the loss of both Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle following their last episode of Suits last night, the series has provided us with a little relief — a new trailer featuring famed actress Katherine Heigl! The short clip shows the blonde beauty in her new role of Samantha Wheeler, a lawyer at Pearson Specter Litt firm. And we can expect her to cause quite a stir as the firm's "greatest ally… or most powerful enemy," according to a recent press release. "Who are you?" Harvey (Gabriel Macht) says upon meeting her. "The name is Sam Wheeler," Alex (Dule Hill) answers for her. And Katherine's response was priceless! "Truth be told, I prefer Samantha," she says. She then tells Harvey, "I want name partner and I want it before the year is out." So fierce... The USA legal drama announced in February that the...
