Peter J. Forcelli
Peter J. Forcelli is a retired ATF Special Agent and a former NYPD Homicide Detective. He was the lead NYPD Detective on the "Sex, Money, Murder" racketeering investigation. He left the NYPD in June of 2001 and joined ATF, where he later came forward as one of the whistle-blowers in the "Operation Fast & Furious" scandal. Although not involved in that case, he testified before congress on June 15, 2011, describing how federal prosecutors refused to prosecute dozens of firearms traffickers who were helping to arm members of several drug cartels. He later became known for his work in freeing 8 people who were wrongfully convicted for murders that they did not commit. Some of these exonerations were highlighted in the NBC series "Dateline" in an episode titled "A Bronx Tale." Another of these exonerations was described in an article in the "New Yorker Magazine" titled "An Ex-Cop's Remorse," which was written by Stephanie Clifford.
