In Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, director Wes Ball plans to breathe new life into the franchise with a story set several generations in the future following Caesar's reign. Apes are now the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.
As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
Given Ball's expertise in the young adult realm with The Maze Runner movies and chatter about Kingdom shifting the spotlight to a younger cast of characters, some fans have expressed concerns about the classic sci-fi franchise becoming a franchise for teens. Then, there's also the fact it has to follow the previous trilogy (no easy feat).

After bearing his fangs as Dracula yesterday in Chris McKay’s Renfield trailer, Nicolas Cage is ready to give an update about his Spider-Man Noir character from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With so many Spider-people swinging in for Sony and Marvel’s animated sequel, Spider-Man Noir will be among them. Wrong. According to an exclusive report from Screen Rant, Cage says his moody and monochromatic version of the wall-crawler will not appear in the sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
While talking about Cage’s new (and first) Western film, The Old Way, Screen Rant’s Caitlin Tyrrell asked if the unpredictable actor was involved in the upcoming animated film. Sadly, the answer is no.
“You’d have to ask Sony,” Cage confessed to Tyrrell. “I don’t know what’s going on with that. No one’s spoken to me about that. Ask them. I don’t know. I really don’t.

We’re just two weeks away from the release of Marvel’s latest MCU installment, but Thor: Love and Thunder has now had its premiere in Los Angeles, so we get to read all the first reactions from those who were invited to attend! As always, we absorb these reactions with a hefty fistful of salt, but anticipation and goodwill for this movie has been high ever since it was first announced. Returning director Taika Waititi essentially reinvented the Thor franchise with his 2017 Marvel outing Thor: Ragnarok by capitalising on the more comedic side of the central character and, as a result, Chris Hemsworth is currently the only MCU star to lead four solo movies.
In Thor: Love and Thunder Hemsworth reprises his iconic role, but as a God of Thunder who is now looking to finally find some peace after losing so much that was dear to him during the events of Thor: Ragnarok,...

Thor: Love and Thunder struck Hollywood on Thursday for the world premiere of the latest Marvel Studios film, and the first reactions are in.
Official reviews do not hit until July 5, so this is the first glimpse of what audiences are saying. It’s worth noting that reactions from premieres generally lean more enthusiastic than from critics’ screenings.
The project reunites Thor: Ragnarok filmmaker Taika Waititi with star Chris Hemsworth for a tale that pits Thor against Gorr the God Butcher, a villain played by Christian Bale that is determined to wipe gods out of the galaxy. Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster returns to the franchise for the first time since Thor: The Dark World (2013) and this time around will wield the power of Thor. The film also stars Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and actors from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, including Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista.
