Throughout life history has shown us that out of great pain, suffering and sacrifice was forged some of the most prolific art, literature and music that has soothed the minds and hearts of a troubled world. These masterpieces of creation have been chronicled throughout time as "classics" in their perspective arenas and adored by generations for their timeless message and significance. And that is exactly what comes to mind when u think of artist, writer and producer Marquais "ClassikMussik" James Sr.
Born in Bay Menette , AL and raised homeless for six years in the streets of Dallas, TX from the young age of nine year old along with his mother, two brothers and a sister; life stacked the odds against him. "I used to ride the train from start to finish on the days and times when the shelters put us out, just so I can think and rest. One day I got woke up by the city police, I was scared I was about to be thrown in jail because right before I got on the train me and my little brother either begged for money or stole out of the grocery store so we could eat," explains ClassikMussik as he leans back in his black leather "big boy" lazy chair. Yet through it all, he remained true to his humble teachings that with great struggle comes great rewards as instilled in him by his grandfather and mother.
Little did he know these teachings would be the cornerstones that would prepare him for a life and career in one day the most cut-throat, treacherous industry professions; the Music Industry. Despite the pitfalls, funny handshakes, hugs and shoulder shrugs; nothing has stopped ClassikMussik from prevailing as one day today's hottest rising talents the industry has known.
In spite of his independent status, ClassikMussik has mustard up quite an impressive roster of work. In 2007 he founded his company, ClassikMussik Productions and thus began his full fledged commitment, devotion, determination and love in pursuing his dreams as an artist, writer and producer. His name began to grow among the independent music professionals. In 2011 he collaborated with Dallas' own independent recording artist, Mr. Lucci and Stubb-A-Lean. This gained him wide recognition and demand throughout the Southwest region as an artist on the rise. In 2012, ClassikMussik landed a spot as an opening act on national Hip-Hop/Rap recording artist Yo Gotti's "Roads-2-Riches" Tour. It was during this time his talents would begin to flourish and evolve.
This all came to a culmination when ClassikMussik's talents caught the attention of Oscar/Grammy Award winner, Jamie Foxx. Mr. Foxx was so enamored with ClassikMussik's skills and songwriting ability; he was offered a position as an in-house Producer and Writer in addition to living quarters in Foxx's $10.5 million home in Thousand Oaks, California. From then on the rest was history in the making. ClassikMussik would go on to write and produce some major works in music. He wrote and produced for the hit comedy spoof, "Channing All Over Your Turn" featuring Miley Cyrus. Some of ClassikMussik's other credits include such artists and works as Jimmy Kimmel Live, Cannon Films, Cannon Film Festival, Ron Howard Films, ABC, Disney, Jamie Foxx, Miley Cyrus, Chaning Tatum, YoGotti, Lazy Bone and Alley Boi. Never before has an independent artist of such magnitude been at the helm of the wheel. Now is the time to recognize the next newest musical sensation to revitalize a dying industry with something of true substance and meaning.
