Some celebrities have a big name that fans immediately recognize. Others have less of a reputation but just as much talent.
Josh Charles is a mildly successful actor with over forty credits in his portfolio. His career has spanned movies and TV series since the 1980s. While most of his work is lesser known, he's had a few breakthrough roles fans love.
Despite rarely being the main star, Charles has stayed relevant on screen, from his most known character in The Good Wife to his newest endeavor, FX's The Veil. Some of his earlier work should be on everyone's must-watch list.

Elisabeth Moss fully committed to one of her earliest roles in Oscar-winning film “Girl, Interrupted.” So the the prosthetics team.
In her prosthetics, the future “Mad Men” star was so unrecognizable, even the film crew believed she was an actual burn victim, Moss said during the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast. In the 1999 film, a teenage Moss played Polly “Torch” Clark, a girl with schizophrenia who ended up with facial scars after getting caught in a fire.
Moss’s facial prosthetics would take “about three hours every morning,” she said. Due to how long the process took, Moss would wear the prosthetics even when the cameras weren’t rolling.
“I would forget that I had [the prosthetics] on,” she said. “You wouldn’t take it off at lunch or anything. I would go with [co-star] Winona [Ryder], because we became kind of good friends, I would go with her to the store or something.

Star Wars: The Acolyte Leaked Footage Features An Intense Force Battle And A Badass Carrie-Anne Moss
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace returns to theaters this weekend to celebrate its 25th anniversary. With a month or so before The Acolyte premieres on Disney+, Lucasfilm is looking to build hype for that by attaching an extended preview to the 1999 movie.
Now, that sneak peek has leaked online (via SFFGazette.com) and it features an edge-of-your-seat clash.
The clip kicks off with Amandala Stenberg's Mae entering a cantina and approaching a hooded figure who we soon learn is Carrie-Anne Moss's Jedi Master Indara.
A fight ensues which highlights martial arts and the Force, with Indara eventually wielding her green lightsaber as the footage comes to an end (it's then followed by a previously released trailer). The action here is top-notch and may sway those who have written The Acolyte off before it's even begun.

Hulu’s The Veil is a spy drama full of intense action and international intrigue. As such, it filmed all over the world, with location shoots taking place in Paris, London and other far-flung locales.
Which is how Yumna Marwan (Sky’s Little Birds), who stars opposite Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) in the limited series and who was a new mom at the time of filming, found herself using a breast pump on a frigid day of shooting in a snowy region of Turkey.

It’s rare to find a star whose taste you can trust beyond their performance; the kind of actor who’s proven to be as discerning in their projects’ quality as they are in choosing rewarding individual roles. There simply aren’t that many Julia Louis-Dreyfuses or Carrie Coons out there, with either impeccable résumés or a Hall of Fame-worthy batting average. But Elisabeth Moss is among them.
As a TV lead, she’s steered some of the modern era’s greatest programs: seven masterful seasons of “Mad Men,” two staggering seasons of “Top of the Lake,” one stirring season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” (and a few more she carried on her back). Even her single misfire is minor: The 2022 Apple TV+ series “Shining Girls” is more intriguing and better than its (lack of) recognition. Plus, it arrived amid a smattering of strong film work that befit her premium brand.

In FX’s gripping new miniseries “The Veil,” right versus wrong isn’t a straightforward calculation, and truth is more confounding than it seems. The action series follows cunning MI6 agent Imogen Salter (a captivating Elisabeth Moss), whose ability to assume a new identity in the blink of an eye makes her a singular asset for the most challenging missions. When Imogen is tasked with extricating a woman named Adilah El Idrissi (an outstanding Yumna Marwan) from a Turkish/Syrian refugee camp and enticing her to disclose her secrets, the spy finds herself analyzing her own moral code and a past shrouded in riddles. Exciting and astonishing, “The Veil” beautifully balances stunt-filled escapades and a rich narrative.
Though the series will take its audience on a journey to Turkey, through Paris, and into London, the story begins amid chaos. In the snow-covered refugee camp during a disorganized food drop, Adilah...

In the new FX drama The Veil, a colleague of British spy Imogen Salter pleads with her to change strategy on a new undercover assignment. “Please don’t speak to the real me,” she replies. “It is extremely unhelpful.”
The Veil repeatedly tries to figure out where the line exists between this persona and the real her, whose name isn’t even Imogen. The problem is that the version of the series about “Imogen” is vastly more entertaining, but the show mostly seems interested in her true identity.

Don't let the bastards grind you down! If you don't like what they're saying, change the conversation.
If you've been along for the wild ride that has been Elisabeth Moss' prolific television career over the last two decades, then you probably recognize these quotes from two of her well-known shows.
If not, then you've come to the right place for a crash course in the "Queen of Peak TV." And while Vulture absolutely nailed it with that moniker, they left out the fact that she has a well-established film career.
Luckily, we haven't missed that important fact.
Seriously. The list of films and television shows that Elisabeth Moss has been in spans further than some of our readers' lifetimes.
Her agelessness is right up there with Paul Rudd and Halle Berry.
So, in celebrating the premiere of her new show The Veil on Hulu, here are ten of Elisabeth Moss's greatest hits.

When filmmakers Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss first spoke with friends about the focus of their Apple TV+ documentary Girls State — a companion piece to their Emmy- and Sundance-winning 2020 documentary Boys State — they were surprised to hear about the expectations it conjured in their minds.
Following 500 teenage girls from Missouri as they navigate a weeklong immersion in a sophisticated democratic laboratory where they build a government from the ground up to address the most contentious issues of the day, the film would surely come down, the friends predicted, to mean girls looking, in Moss’ words, “to tear each other apart.”
In reality, in spite of the political polarization that defines the U.S. today, the situation at Missouri Girls State was altogether different.

Writer/director Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man (watch it Here) reached theatres just two weeks before the pandemic shut down the world back in March of 2020, and yet the movie still managed to make over $144 million at the global box office, on a budget of just $7 million. So it’s no surprise to hear that a sequel is in the works, it’s only a surprise that it’s taking so long to get into production. During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, The Invisible Man star Elisabeth Moss confirmed that The Invisible Man 2 is in development – and it’s getting closer to becoming a reality!
When the subject of a sequel came up, Moss said (with thanks to Fangoria for the transcription), “We are, I would say – and by we, I mean Blumhouse and my production company [Love & Squalor Pictures] – we are closer than we have ever been to cracking it.

Universal has been having a hell of a time getting their Universal Monsters brand back on a better path in the wake of the Dark Universe collapsing, with four movies thus far released in the years since The Mummy attempted to get that interconnected universe off the ground.
First was Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man, to date the only post-Mummy hit for the Universal Monsters, followed by The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Renfield, and now Abigail. The latter three films have attempted to bring Dracula back to the screen in fresh ways, but both Demeter and Renfield severely underperformed at the box office. And while Abigail is a far better vampire movie than those two, it’s unfortunately also struggling to turn a profit.

Next week, audiences will have a new thriller to savor when The Veil‘s first two episodes hit Hulu. The show looks to offer some more thrilling drama work from its highly decorated lead Elisabeth Moss, including a convincing British accent, some intense fighting sequences (at least one stunt caused Moss to fracture two of her vertebrae), and a chameleonic array of character faces. But is this new international spy series based on a true story? Here’s a look at what we know about the show so far. Is The Veil based on a true story? While some elements of the story are certainly plucked from real life — for example, Western worries about the potential for terrorist attacks and inter-agency disagreements — The Veil is an original story written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders). So no, it is not based on a true story. The concept, however, came from executive producer Denise Di Novi,...

“Part of being a spy is being a shapeshifter,” Elisabeth Moss told us when she and executive producer Denise di Novi stopped by TV Insider’s interview suite at the Television Critics Association press tour to discuss their new spy thriller, The Veil, written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders). Being able to slip into different identities is something Moss could relate to in her character, fearless British MI6 agent Imogen Salter. “She’s all these different people, and when she’s being that person, she’s not lying. She’s telling the truth. She’s an actor. I know exactly who this person is.” Salter is trying to stop a terrorist attack on a major American city and must get information from Adilah El Idrissi (Yumna Marwan), who could just be the world’s most dangerous woman. Their game of cat and mouse plays out from Istanbul to Paris to London.

The Veil is another example of why we are in the golden age of brilliant female characters on screen. These strong, smart, and cunning female characters own the screen and set them ablaze. It just so happens that many can be found on FX. A network that celebrates edgy and innovative storytelling, with great female roles at the series center.
Often, these roles subvert female stereotypes. You have Anna Sawai’s brilliant performance in Shōgun, one of the greatest roles in television history, who gives a thoughtful, sumptuous, and cunning performance. Then, last year, in A Murder at the End of the World, Emma Corrin brought to life one of the most complex characters on television in recent memory.

We meet Elisabeth Moss’ Portia in the first scene of FX’s new Hulu drama The Veil, striding confidently through a busy international airport, stiletto heels precariously high, her mouth a gash of crimson lipstick. She’s meeting a shady businessman named Tomas, and they toast to a transaction successfully made. But several seconds later, Interpol rushes in and she chides Tomas for all the criminal details he spilled in the previous 37 days. She walks away, leaving him fuming and in custody.
Her name isn’t actually Portia. As she leaves, aspect and tone instantly changed, she’s already arranging her next destination — Istanbul — and her next identity, telling a person on the telephone, “I would like my name to be Imogen.” She will be Imogen for the rest of The Veil.
It’s here, two minutes into the show, that eagle-eyed viewers and English majors should already be putting together certain pieces.

If nothing else, The Veil is certainly efficient. While streaming series tend to stretch out their plots for far too many episodes and multiple seasons, Elisabeth Moss’ new Hulu thriller (premiering next Tuesday, April 30 on the streamer) is told across six lean episodes that mostly clock in well under an hour. Having seen all six, I can say it’s an effectively tense and propulsive drama that scratches that Homeland itch, with its tale of a damaged spy forming a close bond with a possible terrorist. But even in six hours, it still finds time for unnecessary subplots and bizarre...

When Full House legend Bob Saget’s death was revealed in 2022, the world was in shock. TV fans across the country mourned the loss of the Tanner Patriarch.
But, imagine how hard the news of Bob Saget’s unexpected death hit his friends and family. Lori Loughlin recently opened up about how she learned of her co-star’s passing, and the details were heartbreaking.
The former When Calls The Heart actress joined Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber this month on the How Rude Tanneritos podcast.
It wasn’t long before the conversation turned to Bob Saget and his passing. In early 2022 the actor was found dead in his hotel room.
His death was determined to be the result of blunt force trauma to his head, apparently he had taken a fall while he was alone. Despite a lot of conspiracy theories, the actor’s death is believed to have been an accident.

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani can appeal his $148 million defamation verdict if pre-approved donors cover his legal fees.
In December 2023, the former mayor of New York City was found guilty of defamation against mother and daughter Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss. Without evidence, Giuliani repeatedly accused the duo of committing voter fraud in Georgia during the 2020 election. His claims were made to support former President Donald Trump‘s false claims of a “rigged election” for which no proof was ever provided.
The accusations led to Freeman and Moss experiencing racist and violent threats that “changed their lives forever.”
After a judge ordered Giuliani to pay $148 million, the former mayor filed for bankruptcy. In the court filing, Giuliani claimed he only earned $2,308 per month despite spending $43,797 in monthly expenses.

Jar Audio is excited to launch a new YA fiction podcast, Handsome Molly.

Former Principal Deputy Solicitor General of the United States Neal Katyal thinks Donald Trump’s all-over-the-place interview with Megyn Kelly isn’t the most “unwise strategy.”
On “The Last Word with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell,” Katyal, who formerly worked under President Obama, pointed out that Trump’s verbal dodge and weave tactics provide him the extrajudicial defense he needs.
“I know everyone’s saying, ‘Well, Trump is reckless in giving this interview,’ and the like. I have a different view. I actually think that this is not an unwise strategy for him, because he doesn’t have a legal defense, he doesn’t have a factual defense,” Katyal said.
“The only defense he has is to try and poison the jury pool with his cockamamie nonsense and hope that he can draw a juror that’s going to say this or, as Andrew says, hope that he can just stretch...

Taika Waititi had two goals when approaching Next Goal Wins: one was to make sure people who looked like him found their way onto mainstream screens; two was making sure they were depicted taking the piss out of each other. He joked, after the world premiere, that Pacific Islanders are always shown playing majestic music and looking regal when reality was an infinite wealth of good-natured ribbing. And who better to embody that lack of self-satisfied pretension than arguably the worst soccer team to ever hit an international pitch: the American Samoa national football team, which lost to Australia 31 to nil in 2001.
As the island’s priest (Waititi) explains during his opening narration, the squad might have played even worse in the decade-plus that goes by once the film hits 2014. Note: The Following contains spoilers for “Barry” Season 4, Episode 4
As “Barry” barrels towards its series finale, the HBO series takes a couple of big swings halfway through this final season. Not only does Episode 4 feature the death of a major character from the show, but it ends with a shocking time jump that jolts the story forward eight years into the future, with Barry (Bill Hader) and Sally (Sarah Goldberg) not only living together but seemingly with a son of their own.
The idea for the time jump was born out of Hader’s desire to see what would happen if all of the characters got what they wanted. “Would they be happy? Could they maintain that?” Hader told TheWrap in our latest episodic interview. Read on for plenty of insight into how Cristobal’s death came to be (and the pushback Hader received in the writers room) and the...

[This story contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Barry season four.]
Justice just wasn’t enough for Gene Cousineau.
In the season three finale of Barry, Henry Winkler’s character and Jim Moss (Robert Wisdom) had Barry Berkman (Bill Hader) dead to rights for the attempted murder of Moss, as well as his previous murder of Moss’ daughter and Gene’s girlfriend, Janice (Paula Newsome). However, in the two-episode premiere of Barry’s fourth and final season, Gene has potentially put the case in jeopardy by delivering a one-man show to Vanity Fair journalist Lon Oneil (Patrick Fischler) about his entire history with his murderous acting student, something he and Moss explicitly agreed not to do.
Prior to his one-man show, Gene had already made the news for his brave efforts that helped catch Barry, and he went on to receive a hero’s welcome from the live-studio audience during a taping of his show, MasterClass. He even got to gloat...

There are plenty of stories about criminals, their paths to salvation, and being mired in a cycle of poor decisions. “Florida Man” recounts the same narrative in a more humorous and pulpy tone. With excellent performances and an intricate plotline, the series pulls off the feat of providing an entertaining show to a specific sort of audience that is always craving crime thrillers. However, too many subplots, turns, and twists in “Florida Man” final episode feel unnecessary and seem to have been inserted simply to extend the story rather than bring it to a satisfying conclusion. From the very start of the series, the several subplots didn’t bore us, but at the ending, it felt predictable and didn’t really surprise us. However, let’s explore the ending to know better where the story of “Florida Man ” actually headed.

Previously, in “Florida Man” episode 3, it was revealed that Mike had successfully located the lake and the Colonial where the truck had sunk. Unfortunately, Delly had already informed Sonny about the gold coins; therefore, Mike was forced to bring his father and his buddies along with him to the truck rescue operation. Mike and his crew created a distraction with Delly’s help and dove into the lake to retrieve the truck. However, the crane driver they hired wanted gold in lieu of payment, so Sonny’s friend Buzz had to shoot him to death. Mike and Sonny had to exit the water without the truck because Buzz was unable to hold the chain necessary to bring it out of the water.

Previously in “Florida Man,” we see Mike, an ex-cop who turned to gambling after losing his job and ended up owing a lot of money to a mafia figure named Moss Yankov. To repay him, Mike began working under Moss’ orders, namely as one of his minions. Moss’s girlfriend, Delly, in the meantime, ran away to Florida, taking his BMW, and hadn’t contacted him since. Moss dispatched his faithful henchman, Mike, to get Delly, but upon landing in Florida, Mike had to meet his family. While searching for Delly, he discovered Delly’s dead body in a bungalow, but the murder scene was cleaned up after he left. “Florida Man” is a Netflix original dark comedy-drama that centers on an ex-cop, Mike, who travels to Florida in order to pay off his gambling debts. He arrives in Florida in search of a woman and chooses to take her to the mafia boss Moss, to whom he owes a lot of money. Although Mike was operating under the belief that sending Delly back to Moss will fulfill his obligation to pay the debt, he is obviously mistaken about that since Delly has a lot of devious ideas already stored in her head to get rid of her boyfriend, Moss. Let’s explore that.

Although Peggy Olsen starts off "Mad Men" as Don Draper's quiet new secretary, by season 5 she has risen up the copywriting ranks and become Don's confident right-hand man. There's just one problem with Peggy's rise up the corporate ladder: Technically, she owes a ton of her success to Don, and Don's kind of a jerk. By the end of season 5, the characters have long since lost their post-"The Suitcase" groove, with Don taking Peggy for granted and Peggy growing increasingly frustrated. The last straw is at the beginning of "The Other Woman," where Don dismissively throws a bunch of money at her, in front of her co-workers no less.
Although Peggy was surely already considering jumping ship, it's here where she knows for certain she needs to get away. It's not just that she needs a less toxic work environment, but she needs to prove that she doesn't require Don to succeed.

The Bold and the Beautiful has recast many characters throughout the decades. Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon) are a few characters with multiple portrayers. While some actors have difficulty taking over a role, it was no problem for these four stars.

Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss is no stranger to playing baby mamas with drama (Season 1 Pete, you know what you did), but an upcoming episode of The Simpsons will find Peggy’s portrayer in an even more awkward situation than waking up, post-partum, to find Don Draper sitting next beside her hospital bed.
“I’ve been pregnant on a lot of stuff and have had babies before on TV and in movies, but this is the first one delivered by Homer,” the actress tells TVLine with a laugh. “It’s an important occasion.”
